What we need:

Are the Replicator ships in orbit around the planet or around the primary?

Are they in a group or spread out?

Are they in equatorial or polar orbits if orbiting Tegrea?

Is there a suitable landing area near the main city? The Kelts would prefer to land in a place with secure flanks, build field fortifications and let the enemy come to them. They would deploy their army with six divisions up front and three in reserve.

How are the El'dari ground forces organized? They have to be fitted in with the Kelts.

And then we have the gou'ald. I'm sure they have more subtle tactics than just 'charge'.

Mel has most of the information we need written down, so I'm not much help there other than I did glance at it last week while she was away. I will say this much though, the plan is that we will take some devastating losses as far as ship to ship battles go, though we 'may' be more successful on the ground. The most important thing to keep in mind with the ground battle is to 'not' get infected.

I would say that the El'dari and Kelts have fought ground engagements on airless worlds so they have the appropriate gear.

They certainly would do :)

Is there a suitable landing area near the main city? The Kelts would prefer to land in a place with secure flanks, build field fortifications and let the enemy come to them. They would deploy their army with six divisions up front and three in reserve.

And then we have the gou'ald. I'm sure they have more subtle tactics than just 'charge'.

The enemy ships are grouped in a large circle possibly some several hundred kilometers in diameter directly above the twelve towers they have built. These are located out in the desert near where the Stargate was first found. Twelve towers also in a circle, measuring two hundred kilometers in diameter, reaching some six kilometers into the sky.

The best landing area I would say would be adjacent to the sea, think of LA and then Malibu. That is about the distance from Tagrea city.

The El'dari ground forces operate in large box formations. The attack warriors on the outer edges, protecting the specialists in the centre. They do not use artillery as such, but do have fairly formidable bombard weapons.

The Goa'uld will simply have to choose their own methods I guess

I need to ask as I simply cannot recall, but did we put in place one of the escort cruisers for the Hermes? If not we should have done so. Mel can you search that out for us please, we can't very well send the ship out to unknown space with only Allienna's ship and the Hermes small defences alone as protection.

Then the proper tactics are to stand-off outside their missile envelope and pound the hell out of them until either die or commit to a space engagement. Fighter strikes followed by salvos of missiles from the capital ships.

The Terran fighters are going to come under the command of the Kelts; IFF information with have to be shared and command arrangements made. Selinde will have to give the orders. I have no idea how much the El'dari rely on fighters.

Do NOT expect me to play dumb in order to have a nice big battle where lots of ships die.

There is a precedent for destruction Robert, the episode in SG1 where the Ori forces began arriving through the Super gate. At that point and time we were dealing with an unknown enemy with technology more advanced than all of the combined forces. The whole idea here is to take some bruises in the first encounter, gather your intelligence from that, then prepare for a comeback later on that will eliminate them once and for all. There have been some subtle hints as to what is important, clues along the way.

There will indeed Ben, we're expecting it, though Tagrea is not the linchpin.  ;)

I'm expecting a nasty space fight once the Replicators ships claw their way out of atmosphere into space. But they won't have any easy time doing it. I do have in mind a scene where a Keltic battleship, having lost her helm, collides with an enemy ships and they both go up in a spectacular explosion.

Yup. nasty, but Ea has only three Ha'Tak vessels. Not much in her armada. There will be boarding parties right? For both enemy and ally ships?

Right. so hang back, blow them to bits, chug a flamethrower to burn then into crisps, skim  a few and enjoy the violent melee. Sounds like Christmas morning to me...

I agree with green this should be very fun lol
The Goauld will be doing whatever we can... I am guessing though that our gliders would not be strong enough to hurt them since they absorb energy so its probable they would be more effective on the ground destroying enemy infantry... still I think the gliders could be used for assisting boarding parties as well but we will see
