<Nurses' station>

Mike had not wasted much time between the payroll office and the medical bay. It was relatively straightforward, though he could not help the small smile that crept onto his usually stoic features as he walked; reminded him much of his time in Foundation where he had to deal with boat loads of paperwork and hectic shuffling around with kit dressed in his suit that his mother had given him for his birthday after he had completed his PRMC.

He slowed his walk some, his eyes glancing around at the nurses and various other medical officers who walked around dealing with patients and other folks like himself. A couple had taken note of his arrival, glancing once at himself and then the green beret on his head but they didn't seem like they needed to comment on it. At this point, he was matching names to faces; trying to find Lt. Colonel Sutton.

Medicals were always the most laborious part of any assessment that he had been through; a lot of talking with a lot more questions about this, that and the other. He approached one person at a desk, quickly making note of the insignia that they wore. "Excuse me, I'm looking for a Lieutenant Colonel Sutton, I was informed that she was around?"

Mike nodded, noting the fact that those working behind the scene got less of the appreciation than most. He had seen it as he progressed through the ranks, and though when he was a young whippersnapper Mike hadn't paid all that much attention to how important things were behind the scenes; the effort put into getting them deployed or sorting out their basic accommodations. "Wouldn't be able to do much otherwise without the support structure." Mike replied.

He was, however, surprised at the lack of paperwork that needed to be done. Here he had been preparing himself for at least an hours worth, but it had all been done. Mike reckoned it was due to the improving technological advances of computers taking over written forms, even if it had been the case for quite some time.

Med bay was his next stop. Mike filed away the directions for another time, should he need them in the near future as he stood up, extending out a hand for his thanks. "Thank you, lieutenant." With that, he proceeded out the same door he had came in.

 "Change is on the wind my friends whether we like it or not. I will keep you both informed as best as I can. Quite out of our expectations I believe I have developed a reasonable rapport with the Tauri leader Admiral McCraven. I doubt he will tell me everything but my hope is to glean even a morsel from him in the search for that dog." She drew breath a slight anger showed on her face.

 "We all know where he will strike first in our realm and that will be Lucia. I must go now to see what aid I can give Grundel in her defences, when I have reached her capitol, I will call you both again."

{Larissa Koralova, SVR}

{Adrestia}

Adrestia closed her eyes and then laughed a little, opening her eyes.

"So, Larissa thinks you, Agent Bristow, are the biggest fool in this room. That back door you just used? The SVR knows about it, they let your people take a swing at it before letting them in." Adrestia commented. "My guess is that Ba'al's people in both the American and Russian intelligence communities are going to be hounding you all for her extradition to Russia...or rather, ours. And we'll be found a few days later, having shot ourselves twice in the back of the head in the middle of a forest."

Both Jack and Malcolm glanced at Sydney. Malcolm was more confused as to why she had even done that, Jack was looking far more irritated.

"Excuse me, Agent, but when exactly where you going to fill me in that you were going to go hacking into Russian Foreign Intelligence?" Jack was seriously annoyed now. "I don't care if you're CIA, if it involves things here, you better run them by me first. If you can't be bothered to do that, then you can leave. I got enough loose cannons around here, myself included."

"Also, I already had her file. You may have just tipped our hand in hacking the SVR." Malcolm said, holding up his phone.

"You don't need to presume if you watched the news. The former President, along with the Minister of Defense and a few others Ba'al could not buy out died in a terrorist bombing that should be all over the news. Seriously, your media outlets are like vultures." Adrestia said to answer Anne, "And that sentiment is precisely what Ba'al intends to exploit. He's done it so many times in the past, it's rather impressive it still works."

"Doctor, the subdermal won't be nessisary. Agent Koralova is a member of a sub-directorate in Russian Intelligence who are our opposite numbers there. She was already implanted with one on the contingency, like myself, that we might go off-world." Malcolm said.

Adrestia held out her right arm, "Do what you need to, though, Doctor. I'm interested in cooperation, after all."

"To answer your questions, Agent Bristow, I'm working on the blending process as we speak. It would seem my father, likely to facilitate transitioning from one host to another rapidly, has a trait that runs in the family. I'm taking my time with it because to accelerate it would be to utterly destroy the host as a being. It is barbaric and ensures that even if the symbiote is removed, the host is, at best, going to live out their days in a stupor." Adrestia continued, "My first host was my only unwilling one, I was far too young to understand what was going on. Since then, I at least try to reason with my new hosts, respect that we both share this body. And unlike the Tok'ra, I don't get all pious about it. I was, as you pointed out, being evacuated from Colombia. I was planning to defect and by coincidence, I ended up at the safehouse on the Caymans. Ba'al was unaware of my duplicity, and so he facilitated the transfer because he wanted Larissa as a mole. I needed a way to get to you. She wants to see this through."

"Yeah, okay, I think I've heard enough here. The two of you are stuck here until I say otherwise. Agent Koralova for breaking a ton of regulations, regardless of intention, and you...because I don't know yet if I buy your story or not." Jack said, "Anne, run your tests. Barrett, run an investigation." Jack pointedly said nothing to Sydney, just a hard glare at her.

"Understood, General." Malcolm replied.

With that, Jack took his leave. Malcolm let out a sigh.

"The General already distrusts the NID and most Intelligence types. You may want to avoid him for a while." Malcolm said.

 <Hermes>

 Still feeling slightly overwhelmed by it all, Marill could do little more than to gaze around her as she found these people who without cause were doing so much for her people; she was lost for words as Ronon spoke. Knowing that he, like Teyla and herself wasn't from the same origins as most of the others gave her some comfort that possibly both of them at some point in their lives had faced circumstances such as the Tamoran's found themselves in now. "There are moments in life Ronon when you are faced with no other...." She overheard the one they call Cooper speaking to his senior concerning the Drafts. They just didn't understand them. "...Master Cooper! There is no need for that whatever it is you are proposing, simply ask the children to assist you, the Drafts will follow them. You only need to ensure the calves are close to their mothers and the young bulls will come along behind. Take the children to the Draft pens, they will get them moving."

 "I'm sorry Ronon. We were saying about fighting I believe. Yes we can stand on our own, and yes again we will be deeply indebted to you and all these wonderful people for helping us. As I was about to say a moment ago, there are some things that are more than worth fighting for no?"

"Yes I was thinking inwardly Michelle, its not often that AR-1 has the chance to see skill sets that have come newly into Atlantis work so well with us. As you can imagine we have had some failures over time." Several, there was no need to mention their names. Teyla heard the radio call herself, raising one eyebrow. "Good luck then, with whatever John has you doing and please before you leave Atlantis radio Richard and ask him to send an evaluation team back to MJ7-98U as quickly as possible." She gave the other woman a hug then let her go.

 Jordan shook her head. "No, we don't have time for that now Lieutenant, I only need to correlate the numbers Marill gave me earlier so we know we haven't left any behind. If it makes it quicker as some of our Russian friends to help you." She pressed her radio coms quickly. "Doctor Oloffson, have you determined yet if we're free to let the animals out?" She knew the young woman was trying to find out if the pastures here matched up with what the beasts can and could eat.

 "Not yet Commander. It'll take me five minutes once I get into the Hermes lab. Can you ask everyone to be patient please, it is an important step and I'll get right back to you." Caught in the middle of so many things to do. Mel then had to explain to Kyle. "We just need him to okay what we're thinking of, he really doesn't have to be involved as both I and Lieutenant Kelly in the Infirmary have been with him when he has used it for other, shall we say less important replication. Go ahead Reese call him."

 Giving her attention back to Rafikov, Melinda was on as they say, a roll. "Captain, there is a valley where you first radioed us, one kilometer due west of your ship. In the foothills above the valley Chief Cooper found several deep caves, we can set up the gear in those." Plenty of water, at least that was one thing they didn't have to be concerned with. "The returning passengers will be still in the city for the time being. I think though with the current situation some, if not all may volunteer to stay." She had heard rumors of such recently. "If you would excuse me, I need to use your ship's lab for a few minutes." She already had directions and it wasn't far from where they stood. Mel ducked away with the bags of samples clutched firmly in her hand.

 "Copy that." Jordan replied promptly, then bellowed out rather loudly. "Right people, those of you feeling like herders today, hold your horses. We're still waiting for Doctor Olofsson's report on the feed situation." She then made a beeline towards Hanley. "Let's move it with a purpose people, two hours to sunset." She yelled again.

 As promised, 5 minutes later Mel was back on the bridge smiling. "Very nice lab sir." She told Rafikov. "Its fortunate that I speak and read a little Russian, not much but enough." Then it was her turn to play musical radios. "Commander O'Neil, they can move the animals, the grasses check out. I'll be down shortly."

 "Damn she's quick." Things were pushing on now, at last and that was a huge weight of everyone's shoulder. "Recess over kids, let's get this show on the road." In her mind the old theme of Rawhide was playing and not the Scottish version either, as much as she liked it.

{LT Stephanie McMillan, USN ONI}

"I haven't been able to link a realtime feed of the base and everyone's subderm transmitters. Should be next week, though." Stephanie replied to Ben's quip. And it was not clear if she was kidding or not.

"I've got marching orders for our Chief Warrant Officer here, guess he's due at the Academy Hospital yesterday for a physical. Came from way up the chain, too, so no room to argue it. No offense, but you might want to get there di di mau before someone really gets impatient." Stephanie said, "We're getting an SBS Warrant Officer, so like...well, you probably know then, Commonwealth ranks are pretty similar. Especially the really batty Air Force ones. Like, wow, talk about a mouthful, just a lot to say when addressing someone, and...sorry." She cut herself off.

"I'm sending you the personnel files for Task Force Stalker, we should activate it ASAP. Wolfpack, led by Major Callaghan here, is another one of our teams. You, sir, are going to have to either fill out your roster more or stop going on field ops and getting shot up, because, hate to be blunt, but Blackbird's training and intelligence gathering. I can't do all of that myself, sir. And that goes for anyone else on the roster." Stephanie started yet another rapid fire string with some steel behind her tone this time. "The NID and CIA apprehended the SVR operative, and...oh. And now the Russians know we have her. Looks like ELINT from Moscow to Langely is picking up. So now the Admiral will get a nastygram from them now. Oh, and the NID will have to clean up the other site, but they're working with the Fleet to just beam it all out before things get too dicey, but I can't say how effective that'll be. And, in other news, Ba'al is back in town, going to be President of Venezuela, I guess. Turns out that the intel on Colombia was about as stale as loaf of month old bread." Stephanie was just spouting things as they came to her.

 "Thank you...." Cheryl softened for a moment, someone had truly turned her sour mood around for the time being. "...we don't often get told we're doing our job properly so I appreciate your appreciation Mister Baker." While it didn't quite sound right, her statement did get the message across in her own way. "Yes that one. We've tried as best as we can to slim down the paperwork, it's been a big job over the last year or so but I think we're getting there. From here, no, all the administration is done as far as you're concerned. Make your way up to level 21, out of the elevator turn right and down that passageway until you come to the sign SGC Medical Section. Turn left and you'll be at the Nurses station, Lieutenant Colonel Sutton will take care of you." She glanced down at her laptop screen bringing up Med Bay. "Yes you won't have to look for her, she's there now. Good luck and feel free to come see me if you need anything." Cheryl pressed the door release, a click sounded it unlocking.

 The nurse had already gone about her duties when Anne thanked her, it didn't hurt Sydney always said to herself to be nice to those you worked with. Which brought her to the current situation, she could do something to help Anne and with Syd's knowledge it wasn't all that hard to accomplish. "I can do that for you Anne, give me a few minutes."

 The laptop on the trolley booted up quickly, Anne gave her the password which was typed in quickly, then Sydney logged into her account at Langley. A few more entries and she was into a back door program of her own that was meant to hack into the SVR. "Damn. Firewalled, I think they were expecting this." She flipped out her phone to speak to one of her technicians while staying online, it did take time than she expected, two minutes to be precise after he gave her another access code. A second later a data burst was streaming down the screen matrix style. She saved it, then used her own encryption software to untangle it. "There you go, Larissa's entire file."

 Sydney stepped away from the trolley to give Anne the space she needed to work. Taking in the two stories was rather complex and it did leave some questions to be answered. "I am intrigued Adrestia, so you'll have to forgive my suspicious nature. Who arranged your ahem...blending with Agent Koralova? What happened to your former host and as we have the latest intel, someone from the Trust was seen leaving the scene in a great hurry carrying what we believe was a canopic jar at Ba'al's warehouse down in Cartagena. Do you think we can clear up those curiosities before we move on?"
