They were closeby to the ruins. The action was swift, but they needed to hurry. Ronon fired off a few shots. Listening to Sheppard ordering him to cover Tama and Rodney, he turned to him and grunted, "Yes, Sheppard." Holding his particle magnum, he waited for Rodney to move.

Rodney gave Ronon a look and exhaled. Exsasperated, he muttered not wanting the big man to melt him down with his two beady eyes with that constant stare, Fine, alright alright, I'm going!"

Stopping before the door, Rodney noticed Cate doing something and facepalmed. Holding the life signs detector near the door, he muttered, "No one near the door other than us on the other side. You know, I could have done something different than that."

Clearing his throat, "Are we going in?" he protested abiet while adding with a mutter and sighed looking at the detector again, he changed his mind, "Wait. Scratch that. Detector came on slow cause I didn't see the life signs. We got eight people coming up...Three near the door. Ronon, we might need your weapon handy when you enter first."

Ronon glared at Rodney. Rodney saw that and muttered, "Oh, don't give me that. Just, go up front. Three people on the right when we go in, about fifty meters away. Two more further in but in another level. They are in guard position cause they seem fixed. On something. Three more moving away as if going down another level. They are in the middle right, straight ahead."

Satisfied, Rodney turned away and muttered softly, "And lets all hope we all don't die in the blaze of glory..."

"Copy that. Once you're done there, see what you can do to make the skies a bit friendlier. Out." Sheppard replied into his radio, "Keep it quiet a bit longer." Sheppard said, but he still wasn't sure the Genii were so oblivious to their presence. There were way too many dead now to chalk up to the airstrikes alone.

As he followed Rodney and Ronon in, Sheppard finally got a good look at what was waiting for them on the other side of the door. The only way was a catwalk along the outer edge of the wall, as the rest of the room was an empty void that seemed to stretch for at least a couple hundred feet down below. The exit was at the other end of the catwalk, to the east.

"Rodney, you might want to double check those readings. This looks like a silo..." Sheppard commented.

"Mako. We're up. Voodoo, Deuce." Michelle said, watching the horizon. Voodoo packed up his Mk. 46 before backing into the building with Deuce, with Voodoo patting Midas on the shoulder on his way back, Deuce tapping Ice on the shoulder to indicate for them to start falling back. As Ice did so, he gave a single tap onto Michelle's helmet, and Michelle fell back last.

"Gambler, shut the door behind us." Sheppard said once everyone was in the building.

"Check." Michelle replied and pushed the heavy metal door behind them shut.

"Got a brace here." Deuce said, handing over a metallic adjustable bar. Michelle took it and extended it the width of the door, securing it in place to prevent the door from opening easily.

"Good work. Now let's get out of here." Sheppard said.

Major Fred Rivers
Captain Harly Green
1st Lieutenant Charlotte Summers
Company Sergeant Major Gary Carter

SG-12 North West of Initial Insertion

Airfield Runway

Fred was slowly making his way towards the lead bomber, he pushed his hand in to the pocket of his stolen trench coat and frowned a he found something, glancing to make sure nobody was focusing on him he pulled it out, it was a book, it looked like a Log Book of some kind. He flicked through a few pages, not really bothering to read it, he had tried to read alien languages before and aside from the basics of Goa'uld, Ancient, Flemish and a little Spanish he had learnt he was not a natural at it. But what he did find in the book were diagrams and identification codes that seamed to signify the Bomber he was walking towards, wasnt actully that at all, or at least it wasnt in Genii use, it was a transport. It seamed to be used to transport the large object, which he assumed was this bomb that was one of their secondary objectives from various sites. Made sense, you didnt want to put all these things together on your main base, just in case it went boom. Besides he had read the reports, the Genii weapons didnt have the best radiation shielding when AR-1 had first encountered them.

Fred quickly set about planting the explosives on the plane, specifically on one of its engines. He didnt want to waste time hiding it somewhere, he still had the other air craft to do. He then moved on, planting the C4 in to the aircraft on his list by the time he was done, assuming Harly had gotten all of her planes only the transports were left with out some kind of explosive on them. He quickly walked in to one of them deciding to use it as cover as he pulled his radio from his belt and switched it on.
"Gary, whats the situation? I cant see Harly?"

Gary replied from his position, just as he watched Captain Green leave the airfield and make her way back to their position.
"I think she's done sir, She is heading back to my position now. Just had word for Sheppard. once we are done he wants us to see what we can do about the Genii AA." He waited for the Major to reply
"Okay then, I passed a Pilots Barracks, they should have a map of AA emplacements there. I'll need you to make  distraction when I am ready." Gary nodded.
"Standing by sir."

Fred took a moment to look around the plane. Thats when he saw something he almost instantly fell in love with. One of Fred's personal favorite guns, was the Chiappa Triple Barreled shotgun, and this looked to be the Genii version of that with a leaver action. He checked it quickly, seeing it was loaded, maybe it belonged to a pilot or was just an emergancy weapon on the transport. But either way he decided it would be better to carry it instead of his own pistol, given the obvious difference in design. He slung it over his shoulder and headed out of the plan, by hs count he still had plenty of time untill the timers on the C4 went off of their own accord so he made his way back to the Barracks hanger, once outside he grabbed his radio.
"Okay Sergeant Major, Blow something up." He waited a few moments and then he heared the faint pop of a 40mm grenade being launched and saw the faint trail of it flying from the concealed ridge in to one of the hanger doors on the other side of the airfield.

At the same time Fred unslung his new toy and readied it as he heard a burst of automatic fire echo out. Followed by a few more explosions, from the looks of it, Gary was firing in a high curve up and over the rise to hide their position. And it didnt take long for the Genii Pilots to come running, as a large group of them came out and ran to investigate the damage. Fred slipped inside, he couldnt see anybody so he made his way to the side where there was a sort of notice board with maps and information pinned up.

He looked for a moment. Before seeing a Map it was full of details, he didnt have time to figure out what key denoted anti air on the Genii maps so he grabbed the one with the most infomation. As it was in the pilots barracks and he assumed the pilots didnt want to get shot down by their own AA it would be on their map of important things. So he pulled it from the wall and rolled it up, opening the coat and tucking it in to his belt. Not wanting to loose it, ust in time to see a pilot run in.

"Hey your not a pilot..." he said. Fred quicky thought about what to do, but decided he had done his mission. So he quickly shouldered the triple barreled shotgun and fired. Blowing the other pilot away. Grabbing his radio he quickly ordered.
"Gary, blow up the planes." and made a run for the door. He was sure that his use of a triple barreled shotgun would drawer some attention so needed a big show to draw it away. He was outside and making his way back to the ridge when one by one each of the fighters started to go up in a big explosion a few miliseconds after each other and then finally the bombers all went up together, leaving only the transports standing not on flames but more than likely slightly damaged by all the debris. Fred quickly took the long way around and ended up back on the ridge. Dropping the stolen coat quickly and handing Charlotte her L22 and radio back, as he did his best to put on his kit quickly.
"Whats the plan sir?" Asked Harly as she was already reequipped.
"Bugger off ASAP and once we are far enouth away have a butchers over the map and see if we can find some AA to go frak up."

<401-Legs>

"Bout time." Elle intoned silently as if in prayer. She was at near orbital height now, just below the thermosphere at almost 80 km up. She had gone vertical and despite the heavily layered inertia dampeners she still felt like her face had been in a facial mask for an hour. Rolling 'Leg's over she pointed downwards again, searching out her surface radar as well as the safety of her pilots. Back down at a mere 20,000 feet she could see the bright red/orange explosions from the Dread's handy work on the SAM mobiles. That was at least out of the way until the Genii thought of something else. She didn't have long to wait as multiple bogie blips started showing up on her tactical screen. "Well frak me, finally they're showing some cojones." She didn't realize she had said that over her radio though, but the Squadron would have been as quick to pick it up. "Saint, Hobo, all flight. Check your sixes guys, multiple fast moving contacts approaching from south east and south west. One group at angels 25 and the second on the deck at angels 4. Counting.....roughly 20 to 30 in each group."

                                                   *************

<Genii Bunker>

 Cate slipped her tools away quickly, giving Flynn the nod to do the same. Her weapon was up in her hand now, along with her flare of determination. She could smell evil and this placed was rank with it, along with other smells. On Shep's word, she silently went in behind Ronon hoping to be confronted by darkness, wrong on that score but close. The interior was dully lit with that red glow you find on warships when they go 'dark'. All along the catwalks at foot level small lamps filled every twenty feet or so; thankfully the first and nearest were far enough away not to detect them unless someone did the stupid thing and made a noise. She tapped the big man on the shoulder, indicating silence with a finger on her lips.

 Supporting her M4 between her legs, Cate fitted the muzzle suppressor on the end, then turned back to get both her team and Sheppard's attention by pointing to the end of her weapon.

<Genii Bunker>

Flynn nodded and started to quietly put her tools away.  A slight shiver ran through her as Cate pushed the door open.  None of them knew what to expect, but she wasn't going to be caught off guard this time.  Once had nearly cost her life.  A second time she might not get so lucky.  She grabbed the small gun she had been given and silently followed her new team inside, glancing around cautiously.  Something didn't feel right here at all.  She caught sight of the thing Cate had seen but it appeared Cate had that well in hand.

Shaking the urge to unhinged her jaw, Tama kept tabs of the radio signals running through her head, most of the chatter was directed away from here. All the excitement was well away and up in the skies.

Entering the building, her knife now back in her hand, she kept it close.  Her eyes started to look.for any shadows, as a half-Shade, shadow was were she felt mostly comfortable.

As she glanced around she tried to pick up anything electronic thank might back up Rodney's readings. Reaching back to the nape of her neck to try and adjust the device plugged into her port.

" Either it's still broke and Rodney needs to fix it better or we aren't able to see. I'm not picking any signals inside the building,but that maybe the building being an irritation.  "

Her voice was very soft, but audible to those near, she knew from her Oma's memories to be just that, quiet. She wanted to hunt, to be let loose and find the Genii. Her training kept that urge in check, no good came from a hunt.

Major Fred Rivers
Captain Harly Green
1st Lieutenant Charlotte Summers
Company Sergeant Major Gary Carter

SG-12 North West of Initial Insertion

Once the team had sorted out their kit, with Fred having the addition of the Genii shotgun now strapped to his bag. They had pulled away from the airfield and were now back where they had joined the path. Gary was keeping watch whilst the others all gathered around the map.
"Okay." Began Fred before grabbing his radio. "Alpha Romeo One Lead this is Sierra Golf One Two lead. We've completed out aircraft destruction objective at the airfield North West of our initial insertion point and are moving on to disabling any additional AA positions, just give us the call when your ready to bang out and we'll keep ourselves busy until then."

Once he had updated Sheppard he pulled out the Genii map and unrolled it. After a few long moments of study the team agreed on what symbol denoted an Anti Air position and were looking for the closest one, when Charlotte quickly pointed out.
"Whilst you guys were busy on the Airfield the Dread destroyed some anti air positions." Fred sighed.
"Okay Harly get on the Radio with the Dread gut us an updated map." She nodded as she pulled her tablet from her back pack and opened the hard case cover on the screen and with her free hand grabbed her radio.
"Dreadnought Bridge this is Sierra Golf One Two can you send an updated map with the locations of the destroyed SAM sites marked to my tablet ASAP? Over" She released her radio and waited for a response as Fred slightly adjusted his pack to compensate for the additional weight. He'd rather wait a few seconds now for a reply from the Dread than waste minuets running to a SAM sight that had already been destroyed.

Michelle looked to Sheppard, slowly and quietly handed over her sidearm, a suppressed SIG Sauer P226R. Sheppard took it, cocking the hammer back and kept the sights trained on the two Genii above them. Michelle shouldered her HK416 once more, using her off-hand to gesture to the others to move up. If the guards turned the wrong way, they would catch a couple of well placed bullets, but the best bet was to try and slip past them without shots fired.

And then their radios went off as SG-12 reported in.

"HEY!" One of them shouted, while the other leveled some kind of assault rifle on the group. Both Michelle and Sheppard fired, but the one with the rifle snapped back, his dying reflex to be to fire his rifle, spraying several rounds above the group before dropping. Almost immediately, an alarm went off.

"...copy that, Sierra Golf One-Two, thanks. Alpha Romeo One, out." Sheppard replied, handing back the SIG to Michelle, going back to his own P90.

"Weapons free, Mako. Ice, break it out. Let's move, people." Michelle said. Ice slung his HK416 and pulled free the AA-12 automatic shotgun on his back, slotting in a drum magazine and then yanking hard back on the bolt handle to lock the bolt open into position.
==========================================================

"Oh hell. Alright then. Saint, Legs, go low, mind the SAMs and EMs. The Genii want to play with the big leagues, let's introduce 'em." Jack angled his Wildcat for the approaching targets, "Hobo Lead to all Leads. Cunningham. I say again, Cunningham. You are weapons free and clear to engage at discretion." Jack said, giving his codeword for the remaining Wildcats to join the fray.

"Hobo Five, copy."

"Camelot Lead, roger."

"Fast Eagle Lead, lima charlie."

"Switch Lead, understood."

"Saint, breaking right and diving. Good luck up there, Hawk." AJ said with an unseen smile.

"Don't need luck. I've got you." Jack replied as he and his remaining two wingmen dove into the first formation. Energy weapons fire danced between both formations but found no hits in the first high speed pass, but the Genii formation was already separating into groups to pursue their targets.

"Welcome to TOPGUN. Class is in session." Jack said to himself, this time not broadcasting. The Genii didn't know what they were about to get into as he yanked his F-302 back around to meet them.

AJ dropped her -401 back towards the surface under cloak, coming back on station.

"Sierra Golf One-Two, this is Axe Man. Feel free to call for fire, we have plenty to still go around. And by the by, we did see some tanks rolling out a few minutes ago,
 so keep an eye out for any not on fire."
Jason said from his gunner position into his radio.

Thankfully, there was a lull in the ground forces heading the Terran way. Was it caused by Genii running out of the soldiers to send their way, or them being send to respond to the shitstorm going off at the airfield, it did not matter to Elena at all. It was a nice thing at this moment of life and that was a rare occurance in her line of work. Of course it was immediately soured up by the news of a pilot being shot down. Ah, so the world won't end tomorrow - the things were developing typically.

The door behind the team was finally cracked open and there was some commition going off between the nerds about whether there is anyone inside or not. Colonel moved closer to the door and peeked in through the visor of her rifle.

"Tune ya LSD - there are people inside of this... V-2 bunker. This is a damn silo for an early missle types if I ever saw one. Now, let's go in and light them all up. They are all well aware of the hostile presence by now. After all, we live only once, so why not to party once in a while?"

Flat joke delivered, redhead changed the magasine in her main weapon, ready to file in after Mako.

<Dreadnought Bridge>

{Major Casey Flannigan-USAF- TO} NPC

*radio*

 While Aria doubled up on the weapons suite, Casey, one of the youngest Majors in the fleet kept a sharp eye on the movements of any Genii units ground bound; SG12's radio call then became a priority. "SG12 this is Dreadnought tactical. Six mobile SAM units located and destroyed. We are though picking up signals for gun directors, meaning you have conventional AAA somewhere in the field. Given the location of their directors, I'd say quite possibly you have three platforms at the southern end of the airfield, one or two west and others sprinkled around the city. They're not really going to show until they start lighting up. Over."

                                                    **********************

<AC401-Legs>

"Way too late now to skip this part and swap for a 302." Even in the most dire situations Elle managed to keep her humor. It would have been better though at this very moment if she had a gunner, hence her preference for the venerable fighter right now. Well at least she was going to earn her pay, if she survived. Staring at her attack radar, Elle saw the formations more clearly now, the first group began splitting up into four ship units, at least they were organised. From her position now north west of the city at around 3,500 feet, the enemy were almost sixty kilometers from her; time to see just  how good she was, or at least the system she was using.

 With a AIM 120 on each of the four wing hard points, an additional AIM-9 attached on the newly fitted outboard wing tip points, the 401 was pretty well ready for anything, having the gun suite just added to the bonus. "Fox three!" She announced dropping one of her missiles from the pods as she locked onto the lead of one group. With no time to wait for the results, fingers crossed she was successful, Elle moved immediately so she wouldn't be the hunted rather than the hunter, she went in search of another target.

"Jack, they're splitting into finger four groups, someone has been teaching them. One wing is going wide trying to get around you. I can hang back here and act as AWACS since I'm on my lonesome...." There was long pause as Elle brought up the repeater screen from her tactical station to sit in the center of her HUD. "...tallyho boys and girls, we're in the middle of a swarm, they're trying to corral us methinks, units of four at angels 8, 10, 12 and 15, coming from south south west and south east."

                                            *********************

 So much for stealth. Cate even had a chance to sigh when the shooting began, although she didn't bother removing her suppressor, there was no time for that now. Moving her muzzle both high and low, left and right, she shot each time a figure appeared, almost like a shooting gallery, only darker. It was too easy, way too easy she thought and those thoughts were haunting her as they all moved forward on the narrow catwalk, their boots now ringing on the open meshed steel.

 Eventually they moved passed the first body that was brought down at range, then another and another. By the time they were halfway Cate had to stop, alarms in the facility began to ring. "Whoa!" She flattened against to wall. "Flynn, Lena.." She looked for William, he was slightly out of site behind them. "Two things, look down and tell me that is NOT a missile exhaust outlet below us." She'd seen enough of them to know that is exactly what it was. "Secondly, did we just walk past the same dead guy twice or am I dreaming?" From where she was in the red gloom, she tried to get John and his team's attention, pointing both below and to the bodies they had walked past.

Flynn didn't like this at all.  It felt all wrong.   She quickly flattened against the wall behind Cate, looking at her feet.  A soft groan escaped her lips.  That was exactly what it was and that couldn't bode well for them.  Her eyes widened.  "Now that you mention it i think we have," she whispered, clenching her fists until they turned white.

"Rodney, you might want to double check those readings. This looks like a silo..." Sheppard commented.

"What?" Rodney muttered half distracted by Sheppard's voice and his life signs detector. Focused on his detector, he creased his brows and grumbled, "But these readings were..." he trailed off as his mind wandered while looking at his surroundings. The words of Tama was lost on him while he pondered on what was going on with his scanner. Basically, the scientist started to ignore everyone in the group that started blaming him for technical issues.

Ronon was up front with Sheppard when they dealt with the rebel Genii. After they were taken cared of, he muttered to him while keeping his trained eyes on his surroundings for more, "We should split up, Sheppard. Cover more ground this way.

Rodney muttered while walking past one of the bodies. Distracted from his seemily broken scanner, he looked at the bodies and spoke getting Cate's attention while responding to her comment, "We passed the same dead guy, Cate, but they are the same. I can confirm we are not walking in circles because I know didn't hallucinate."

"Probably not exactly the same. I mean, the lighting in here is awful." Michelle commented, looking at the dead hostile. The weapon was unlike anything mentioned in the threat briefing, it wasn't the carbine that looked like a Desert Eagle in strange frame, but rather it looked like an early assault rifle prototype with a wire folding stock and wooden furniture.

"Besides, don't get her fired up about the Prequels..." Voodoo commented with a snicker.

"Enough. Alright, we should split this down some, we've still got two more objectives." Sheppard said, looking around the corridor junction they were at. One seemed to lead further down to an armored elevator. The other direction led further down into the silo.

"Mako, that elevator looks like it might go somewhere our guy might be. See what you can find. The rest of us will go further into the silo, see how we can shut this mess down for good." Sheppard said finally after weighing his options.

"Hooyah, sir. Mako, on me." Michelle said, waving her team on to the elevator.

"Cute. Well, this isn't 1944, we've got AMRAAMs. Let's go BVR, everyone. Lob 'em as soon as you can to thin 'em out. Jack said. With the remaining inbound friendlies still at range, they could now lock up the Genii fighters with AIM-120s at range. Streaks of missiles lanced out into the Genii formations, filling the night sky with explosions and rocket streaks. This added to the streams of energy pulse blasts from the Wildcats and Genii fighters already carving across the night sky. It wasn't perfect, but it did thin the Genii out.

Jack found that the Genii fighters were fast but being flying wings left them unstable in a turning fight. Plus it was a case of extremes, either they presented themselves as massive targets or as very small ones. And Elle was right, the Genii pilots had been trained, Jack was having to put more than a bit of effort into this furball. But the upside for the Wildcats was that they were all piloted by rated experts from all over Earth, so they were no slouches.

Major Fred Rivers
Captain Harly Green
1st Lieutenant Charlotte Summers
Company Sergeant Major Gary Carter

SG-12 North West of Initial Insertion

Fred frowned as he heard Harly growl from the response she had been given over the Radio. She clearly had not gotten the response she wanted, but after a moment her her tablet maid a quiet ding to indicate a message, Harly tapped it and they had sent the map. She smiled a little as she turned the lap top.
"Got it Major." She said as Fred grabbed the Genii map and held it side by side with the tablet, it took him a few moments to find a common land mark, it was a bit like looking at google maps and then when you changed to google earth it was some times impossible to recognize them as the same place. But he did, he used the air field and managed to find a few other markers, the maps were slightly different sises but using logic he quickly eliminated  the SAM Sites marked on the Dreadnaught map off of the Genii Map.

Fred took a moment to think. "Okay we have a few more marked on this map than the Dread appear to have seen." He said pointing to a group of 4 emplacments on the Genii map that were closer to them than any of the others but didnt seam to have been picked up on the Dradnoughts scans, given what the officer had communicated over the radio.
"We do have a small problm Fred." Said Gary. "We used up all of our explosives on th airfield."
"Yeah and I dont think Colonel Sheppards plan of potatos will work on a gun." Said Charlotte. Fred shrugged. "We'll Improvise Lieutenant. Sergeant Major, the AA Position is that way, so lead the way." He said pointing as he and Harly put away their maps and the team quickly set off.

<AC401-Legs>

 "What was wrong with 1944?" Elle asked herself, thinking of her uncle who had fought and died over France in that year, flying an aircraft that she herself would have given her right arm to fly, which one day she would. The venerable Spitfire, the Mk XIV to be exact. The wiley old Scot was with his Squadron escorting US B26's over Lochem in Germany where their mission was to destroy a V2 site; old Frank's Spitfire caught some flak rupturing his glycol tank, yet he survived to bail out, only to be shot when he landed. Her father never really got over that, even to this day he still spoke bitterly of it.

 Keeping with her plan, Elle was feeding the others a constant stream of information, her mind totally focused on the job. She did have two 120's left though, but felt she could hang onto for a while yet, that was until that annoying voice of the onboard computer system rang out. 'Threat warning immediate!' 'Threat warning immediate!' 'Threat warning immediate!'. She looked quickly at her scanners from the corner of her eye, two bogeys were coming in fast behind and below her. Elle took evasive action, hitting her vertical thrust control to essentially flip the 401 over on its own axis, then to see she was less than 1,000 meters from the pair coming head on. Bright blue white flashes passed by, one shot taking a small chunk off her upper fuselage, almost taking out her sensor suite aerials. "Dayam!" She swore, rocking her ship to either side. Hesitating for a split second whether switch on the shields, which meant she couldn't use her missiles and only the upper pulse gun, or go for broke. That moments hesitation almost cost her as the pair closed the distance, firing madly to take down the dark tubby enemy. Out of site, far beyond visual, more of them were joining their comrades, it appeared Elle was now the hunted and not the hunter. "Shut up Mother!" She yelled as the warning system went mad. "Jack, AJ, a little help if you can spare it." At least one went down with an AIM-9, that was satisfying to say the least.

                                                     ***************

<Bunker>

 Faced with what might be an overwhelming force the deeper they probed with stairs and walkways going in every direction, even elevators (Cate remembered signs in buildings back home 'in case of fire do not use lifts'. Good advice). Looking over to Lena for her lead, she knew the woman enough to know she'd pick the hardest, down and forward. Whether the head honcho was in this building was another thing, that though was their secondary mission. While waiting she was musing on something that was bugging her, she took the brief moment they had to ask a pertinent question. "So, Koyla had around maybe fifty or so followers, we know that. More could have joined I guess in three years, but I have to ask, this city appears to be well populated given the resistance we've found...it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Something screwy is going on here, just my 2 cents worth."
