On a junction on the main corridor from the elevator to the commanders office and briefing room was a hallway that led to three small rooms, that in mid 2003 became the offices for the British, French, Chinese and Russian military representatives to the SGC. The smallest room at the end of the hallway served as little more than a cupboard with stacks of office supplies, a photocopier, scanner and all the other large machines that cluttered offices though they were really no longer needed. And on the left side of the hallway was one office for two people and on the right side was another, initially the French and Chinese officers shared the one on the left and the British and Russian officers shared the office on the right.

Colonel George Sanderson. MOD Representitive and British Contingent CO

George sat in his office, a can of Coke on his desk as he flicked through his emails, when SG-12 wasnt around he often had very little to do, read up on reports from the SG teams and the scientists on the base and off world, highlight anything important and send them to the MOD.  He glanced out his door as he heard foot steps. it was a little odd, in two thousand and three under Hammond, each of the gate signatories had a military leason, and now he was the only one left, or at least, the only one that still worked from this office, the Chinese appeared to have left the military side of the program after the loss of the Sun Tzu, in favour of pushing influence in the IOA, the French appeared to have taken a minimalist approach in their partnership since the beginning and the Russian's had never filled the seat across from George since Chekov died. He sighed as he closed his personal email account and checked his MOD one again, finding the message from the IOA. Looking up intime to see two Marines Enter. He recognised them, he made a point to at least know everybody's faces, even if he wasn't able to learn all their names.

Cpt Harly Lawler MCU-1 CO
GSgt Brad Cooper MCU-1 SNCO

"Captain. Sergeant." Said George with a nod as he stood.
"Actully sir, US Marine Sergeant ranks go by the full title." Said Brad as George nodded. "So its Gunnery Sergeant." Now George remembered, he had spent time with a lot of US Marines, but more often than not they were officers.
"Sorry Gunny, My bad." He said with a nod. "I assume you two are here about the IOA."
They both nodded and he nodded to the seats around the room. They were office chairs, one that was supposed to be behind the Russian desk, and the other he had stolen from the office across the hall.
"So, whats the issue sir?" Asked the Captain. George just took a sip of his drink as he lent back in his chair.
"I'll read you the email." He said as he cleared his throat.
"Dear Colonel Sanderson. We are contacting you in regards to a matter of SGC operations. it has come to our attention that the SGC Commander, Air Vice Marshal Dame Linda Fraser, RAF, has allowed Marine Combat Unit One to travel and actively operate in the ongoing conflict that is taking place on PG8-K59, also known as The Alpha Site. The IOA Is displeased is part of the agreement between the IOA and the SGC when the team was created detailed that the IOA had to approve the MCU being used at its full capacity for anything apart from rapid responce rescue or support operations. We have attempted other more direct forms of contact with the SGC, though due to lack of responce, we have been forced to contact you, through your MOD email, it is out belief that the MCU's deployment to thr Alpha site was not urgent enough to not require approval from the IOA. Please pass on the order to recall MCU-1 to the base commander immediately." He sighed as he looked to the two US Marines, not finishing the email.
"Basically the Air Vice Marshal got booted out, for some reason, and the Vice Admiral was brought in, and in all the Chaos, the IOA's message went unheard." He shrugged. "It sucks. I know, but I was looking in to the arrangement for your team, and I found a fun little footnote." He said as he smiled.
"Standard Operating Procedure for Marine Combat Unit One. Artical three, team deployment. Though the team may only be deployed at full strength in extreme cases, or with approval from the IOA, the team may be used as a Standard SG Unit in a support role if only forty five percent of the team is deployed."

The two marines nodded understanding the basic message. Unless on a rescue operation or approved by the IOA, they could only take half the team. Harley couldnt help but view it as a blessing in disguise. Though the 20 man team was useful in rescue operations, at least on the Alpha site they found themselves in roles more suited for smaller 4 man SG teams or larger 30 men platoons.
