Col George Sanderson. <Commanders Office>
Mjr Fred Rivers <Briefing room>
1st Lt Charlotte Summers <Commanders Office.>

Charlotte heard Robs thoughts on the situation. And knew about it from what Fred had told her, she took a quick breath and added quietly.
"We dont leave our people behind sir." She looked down knowing the admerial was going to get a right speech about how she should shut up. and ask for permission to speak. If he was anything like Gary led her to belive.

George smiled a little, proud of her. Mainly for not being scared to speak her mind infront of a superior officer. But that might be because George and Fred mainly had a policy of when they were working they wanted input from everybody.

Fred looked at the two other British Officers in the room and shrugged. "I dont know, Im just here to back up Charlotte when she asks to be put on my team." he shrugged a little. "Is it bad if I plan to sabotage it so she isnt on my team?" he asked looking at them leaning against the wall with a hand on the butt of his holstered pistol.

Adia and Larkin looked at Ruby and Maria and smiled warmly at them. Ruby seemed alright to them the few times they met her and they were thankful to Maria for taking them under her wing and teaching them the way of the Tau'ri.

"We are settling in well, thank you," Adia stated. "Kimberly has been a treat to live with and the path has been a good one. It's very kind of her to share her home with us."
"She has been kind enough to teach us of your world," Larkin added. "There are so many things to learn."

<Briefing Room>

Spook slips into the room nodding a quick hello to everyone she sees that she knows responding "Excuse me. Captain coming through!" as she makes her way over toward Some of those that she knows best before stopping and straighting her Dress Blues that she heard were to be worn for when the highest Brass were to be here.

She moves next to CNO Sutton responding "Hi Kim. Good to see you." She then moves on past several people to ten feet from Kim and comes to stand next to Ruby giving her a big smile nodding responding "Hi Ruby good to see you back up and around. Have I missed anything?"

<Briefing Room>

Bouncy little Spook came in like the whirlwind she was, a quick greeting and Kim could hardly get a word in before she was off again. "Carrie, that was one... of our more entertaining personnel. But I warn you, if she asks you at any time would you like to go on the town, even if its for shopping, politely decline." Kim said with a smile, there was no need to elaborate, a woman can figure these things out. "On the other hand Tim, if she asks you. Please say yes." Kim let out a small laugh.

Speaking to Adia and Larkin was refreshing for both Maria and Ruby. To get a viewpoint of Earth and its doings from someone who has come from so far away, most people would simply not believe it to be true. Maria was about to answer both of them when Ange came over and swept Ruby up in a hug. "What, no hugs for your former CO Spook?" She slapped her on the shoulder. "Adia, Larkin, this flighty young thing is one of our best 302 pilots, even if she tells you herself."

Ruby bid Ange to put her down after returning the hug. "Lass, hev ye bin sleepin oonder a rock or sommit?" She asked, almost bursting out in laughter. "Noot much since yesterday morning when we hed coffee, other than ah've slept, cleaned me blues.."

<Briefing Room>

Putting Ruby down she nods at the two ladies Maria and Ruby had been talking to responding "Hello ladies. Hope these two aren't talking your ears off." She then looks at Maria responding "If you really want a hug I'll give you one but your still higher rank so not about to do anything that will get my LA behind into trouble with everyone in this room."

Looking at Ruby she replies "You know I was talking about up here in the briefing room Rubs. Glad you got some sleep though I just got done from shopping online looking for stuff to get for Lily and the baby." She looks around to see who else she knows in the room.

<Commander's Office>

Sean stood and moved to look out the window that looked down into the gate room.  Robert had a point, Cate definitely saved a lot of lives that day.  Had she failed, chances were that Earth herself would be a war zone by now.  I've only been on the job for six months, he thought to himself, and yet already my command is bloodied.  As much as I don't like the idea of sending people to their deaths, until we get some new recruits in here our forces will be spread thin.  He let out a long exhale through his nose, closing his eyes as he did so.  The other day he had received a personal email from Anne, one filled with emotion.  She had practically pleaded to him to find her daughter.  Anne's maternal instincts told her that her daughter was still alive, but the beam of light from that temple seemed so contrary to her opinion.

To hell with it, Sean thought. Until Robert has some type of closure on this, he'll constantly be at my desk instead of doing his job.  He opened his eyes and turned back to his desk, walking back and sitting down.  He shuffled through the papers until he found the ones he was looking for.

The sets of orders detailing the new roster for SG-9.

"Captain," Sean said, not bothering to look up at him.  "Take command of SG-Nine.  I'm assigning Lieutenants Mercy and Summers to your team, along with Senior Airman Heckman.  Lieutenant Mercy will be your executive officer."  He signed off on the paperwork, then glanced up when Charlotte spoke.  "Lieutenant Summers," he addressed Charlotte.  "Your new set of orders.  You're being assigned to SG-Nine, reporting to Captain Hughes."  Sean handed her the freshly-signed set of orders, then handed the other sets to Robert.

Walter then made his way into the office, letting him know the President was due to arrive in twenty-five minutes.  "Thank you, Walter," Sean said, rising to his feet.  He looked at the British detachment, then took a long look at Colonel Sanderson whom was in the back.  "Colonel Sanderson," Sean said, nodding at the man.  "I understand you're still waiting to find out if you'll have an office.  We'll address that later, but for now we have a VIP arriving.  Have your people in number one service dress, please, then have 'em line up in formation on level seventeen.  And please, don't be late.  You have twenty minutes."

To the others standing in his office, Sean said, "You heard Walter.  The President and his entourage are arriving in twenty-five minutes.  Make sure you're in your dress blues and be in formation on level seventeen in twenty minutes.  Scoot."

To Walter, he said, "Walter, get on the horn and spread the word.  Have everyone in dress blues, then report to level seventeen in twenty minutes.  In formation."

Once his office cleared out, Sean walked out to the Briefing Room and whistled loudly.  Someone heard him and said aloud, "Atten-tion!"  As soon as everyone - save for the civilians - stood at attention, the admiral addressed the room.

"VIP arrival in twenty-five minutes.  Make sure you're in dress blues and everything is in tip-top shape.  Then get to level seventeen and be in formation by the time I arrive.  You have twenty minutes.  Move."  He looked at the two civilians - off-worlders, really - standing in the briefing room.  "I suppose you'll have to come along in your current state of dress.  If you ladies will excuse me for a few moments, I'll need to head back into my office.  The head of our nation will be arriving soon, and protocol dictates that everyone under my command - including myself - dress appropriately for the occasion.  After I get into dress uniform, I'll escort you two myself to level seventeen."

It was a good thing Sean kept at least one freshly-starched and pressed set of service dress blues hanging in his office...

Col George Sanderson
Mjr Fred Rivers
1st Lt Charlotte Summers

Charlotte nodded to Captain Hughes and fallowed the Colonel out to the Briefing room. As the Admerial asked George to get them all in No 1 dress uniform Fred stepped forwards. as he and George spoke at the same time.
"Sir with all due respect."
"Sir with all due respect."
Fred nodded as George carried on.
"Sir, Considering as we don't often wear the No one uniform the Head of the Special forces only had us bring the No two uniform." It was true. It had been decided mainly because the British Ministry of Defence believed it would fit better whilst contrasting with the Airforce blue uniform. Fred then added.
"Sir, I'll look after our off world guests." he said hoping that the Admerial wouldnt have a go at George. Admittedly the MOD had given them the choice on what to bring, But Fred knew that the three of them and Gary only had the No 2.

<Briefing Room>

Donavan, following just behind his single escort, entered the briefing room just in time to hear the call to attention, reflexively moving to the side of the stairs out of anyone's way, his back to a wall as he came upright.  The response was autonomic by now, if it hadn't already been before the Tau'ri training.  As the announcement ended, he reflexively fell into the at-ease posture, hands folding at the small of his back, watching the various gathered faces, all of them completely strangers to him. He'd hoped to see at least one familiar face in this place he'd once called home, and before that, prison.  The irony of the progress of his thoughts curved one corner of his lips, but not for long.

"Guess it's back up then... maybe you should have called ahead to see if there was even any room."  He wasn't trying to be funny, most of his humor was lost on him anyway, as his dark blues took in the almost standing room only crowd now all filing for one exit or another, waiting for his own escort to figure out where they were headed next.

<<Briefing Room>>

Major Tiff O'Neill
Captain Roxy Evans

Tiff grinned amused at the other British Major. "Not at all"

Roxy on the other hand, didn't agree. "I'd love to have someone I knew well on my team to be honest" She sipped her coffee. "But it's your prerogative" A smile tugged at her lips but before it could fully blossom Davidson entered the briefing room.

Both woman stood to attention, Tiff did so a little more chilled than Roxy, and listened to what the CO had to say. As soon as he left they relaxed.

"VIP? Who do you reckon it could be?" Roxy said pretty excited.

Tiff shrugged while drinking her coffee. "I'll take a wild guess and say Justin Bieber" She said with a hint of sarcasm. "Not feeling this dress blues though" She exhaled.

Roxy rolled her eyes with a grin.

"Who do you reckon it is?"

She gave it a quick thought. "The President" She said sure.

"Really?" Tiff raised her eyebrows not so sure.

"Wanna make a wager?" Roxy asked with confidence.

"You're on, tenner both ways"

"Deal! We best go" She nearly bounced off with excitement.

Tiff took one last gulp of her coffee, gave Fred a nod and retreated with Roxy.

Captain Robert Hughes

<<Commander's Office>>

Robert rather mutely accepted the papers Sean handed him. He wasn't just assigned to one of the base's off-world units, he was commanding one -- and, like all the SG team commanders, he'd have his own office. He would have to pick up the key from Walter later, assuming that wasn't a need the Chief Master Sergeant had already anticipated. With the President due to arrive inside the hour, it was one of the least pressing things on the man's plate, he knew.

Robert caught Elle's wrist before she could file out. Initially he'd been hopeful but reserved after Catherine's disappearance and, as much as he'd tried to distance himself from his friends, they'd both still been there for him. He'd needed their support, been grateful for it, even if he hadn't necessarily shown it at the time. And now she had done this for him. "I owe you a beer. Mike too."

Now, after six long months, he might actually get some of the answers he was looking for.

"Lieutenant Summers," he addressed the young British officer the admiral had placed under his command. He didn't know her well, as he'd only worked with her once in a joint operation with SG-4 and 12, and hadn't spoken to her outside of that context. "Walk with me."

<Briefing Room>

"Well thet's it. We doona wanna be late fer that doo we?" Ruby said grinning. She had the advantage, already in her number one blues, looking like a newly minted officer. Something Ruby was so proud of, an immigrant and an officer of the US Air Force and part of the most secret organisation on Earth. Without waiting for her friends, she made a hasty exit for the elevators in the passage behind the Briefing Room.

Maria was well versed in protocol. She smiled and nodded to Adia and Larkin, indicating they should follow the Admirals command and was not far behind Ruby.

"Carrie, you've not met our Prez have you? I mean you weren't here on his last visit.. no wait you were. Big tall dark guy, came to visit you and the others in Med bay not long after you arrived. Sweet man and his wife and kids are sweeter." She said softly. Gone was the bravado of earlier. "Anyways doll, you look sweet as you are.....I"m speaking to Carrie, Mike." She added, then looped her arm in Carrie's.

"I heard that!" Cheryl said to Tiff across the room. "Justin Bieber indeed. I was hoping for Tim McGraw..." She nudged Donovan in the side. "I often get it wrong sir. Not so much the facts but the details. You'll get used to me." That was rather bright of her, Cheryl hoped he didn't think her a ditzy kind of woman, she was in fact quite smart; at least as far as accounting goes. That was her original job at the SGC two years ago, base Accounts Officer. "I'll show you the way." She to, was already in her blues.

<<To Level 17>>

"You're on Rob." Elle told him as she headed out the door. "I'll take care of Mike for you." She beamed and walked over to her on and off beau. "You okay Mike?" She asked simply.

<Commander Office>

{CMS Walter Harriman} NPC

"Yessir, immediately Sir." Walter replied and helped himself to Sean's desk pager. It was going to be loud. "ATTENTION ALL STAFF NOT ON DUTY. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE IN FORMATION, ON LEVEL SEVENTEEN CONFERENCE ROOM IN TWENTY MINUTES. FULL DRESS BLUES." That would get their attention.

Both George and Fred protested, then George continued by stating that they only had their number two dress uniform.  Sean had no idea why, but he knew it certainly beat what the British detachment was currently wearing.  Sean sighed and nodded. "Very well," he said.  "I'm sure if Her Majesty the Queen were to visit, or any member of the British Royal family for that matter, I'd be asked to wear my full dress whites for the occasion.  But, since this is the President of the United States that's coming to visit, I can get away with wearing the full dress blues instead.  If your number two service dress is all you have, then by all means wear it.  Just don't be late is all I ask."

Fred then said he would look after their guests, and Sean didn't feel like arguing. "Thank you, Major," he said, and with that he retreated back into his office and closed the door.  Once inside, he darkened the window that overlooked the gate room, and shed his service khakis.  Normally he would be clad in his working uniform - similar to the BDUs worn by the other branch services - but he hadn't been anywhere within the last six months except for behind his desk.  Reaching into the small closet, he hung his service uniform onto a hanger, then pulled down his full dress blues and removed the plastic covering that protected them.  It had been freshly pressed and starched, and each of his ribbons and medals were in the appropriate places on his coat, as was his SEAL trident insignia and the Stargate Command insignia.  His all-weather coat he wouldn't need, nor his overcoat as the ceremony was to be held indoors, but otherwise would be kept protected under the plastic covering.

As a rear admiral, part of his full dress uniform included white gloves, gold cuff links, and a cut-and-thrust sword with a half-basket hilt.  His white combination cover had the two rows of gold oak leaf-and-acorn shaped embellishments on the visor, often mockingly referred to as 'scrambled eggs'.  Sean had long since become accustomed to the phrase, but as he was a naval officer through-and-through he had to continually remind himself to ignore the comment from a junior officer or someone from the enlisted ranks.

Once appropriately dressed, Sean closed the closet door, tucked his cap under his right arm and opened the door leading into his office.  Stopping to turn around, he locked his office with a small key then secured it into his coat pocket, then executed a crisp about-face. He looked at the two off-worlders and gave them a courteous smile.  "Ladies, whenever you're ready," he said politely.

Mjr Fred Rivers

George nodded and ran off to get changed. Fred looked about for the second and then the Admerial came back out and fred nodded.
"Sir." he said then stepped aside for the ladies. "Ladies, I am Major Fred Rivers and I will be your guide for this trip to the accomodation level." He smiled a little as he started to walk.
