Capt Samuel Williams British Army

"MOVE MOVE MOVE!" Yelled Sam as he ran through the gate infront of his team.

{1st Lt. Nicholas Klose}
{Staff Sergeant Joe Suzuki}

Woha, if that man is so into psychiatrists, this job might be even crazier than I thought...." the young Lt. thought moving towards the gateroom. But that didn't scare him as much as the others probably expected: he had a wild curiosity that never stopped, driving him to become a pilot and fueling his interest in history. "Well then, off to Frost-Land we go!" he said, his embarassment quickly vanishing.

Joe, on the other hand, pretended to be utterly insulted by Kemp's humorous disbelief. "Sir, my family came to the States all the way from Japan, we have very different Christmas traditions.... " he said, and turned his back on him, hiding a smile. "But, if that's what you want, fine, feel free to consider Lieutenent Newbie here your new best buddy!"
"Ehi, show respect, Sergeant, that's 1st Lieutenent Nicholas Klose for you..."  Klose sternly replied "But Nick for you, mate." he finished, turning to Zane with a smile. Both he and Joe bursted into laugh.

"Enough boys!" Lorne seriously scolded all three of them, but barely held back a smile.
"This mission is a serious thing, and I don't need to remind you of its importance, do I?" he didn't waited for a reply.
"We are here to set up peaceful talks between us and the Eldari, very powerful and very advanced cousins of the Asgard, let's try not to make a mess of this one, clear?"

Zane grinned at the good-natured banter, comfortable with Joe and his sense of humor. "Ancient cultural traditions aside, you need to see it. It's a classic." Then he turned to Klose. "All right then, new best buddy Nick. Let's go show these Eldari how serious and peaceful we can be. Major," he turned to Lorne with a formal snap of a salute, "All set to not make a mess of things, sir."

{Chuck Campbell-Gate Technician} NPC

So far today had been quiet, with only one team away Chuck would be able to finish reading his book and writing back home, that was important to him. Major Lorne's team had their mission and once he had sent them away, he could simply sit there looking busy; a great way to earn your pay. He looked over the railing, it wouldn't be long now as he saw Lorne, Klose, Suzuki and Kemp arrive, leaving only one other. "I can dial it up whenever you're ready Major." He announced loudly, that would make Woolsey aware as well.

{1st Lt. Nicholas Klose}
{Staff Sergeant Joe Suzuki}

Joe immediately followed Zane's exemple, and saluted "Same here, sir!"
Not wanting to be different from the rest of the team, Nick saluted too  "Me too, Major."

Lorne returned the salute with a laugh.
"Enough now. I'll go first, Suzuki, you've got our six. The rest of you knows what to do."
He turned to the balcony above and replied to the technician.
"Dial it up, Chuck."
He waited for the usual kawoosh and stepped through the gate, followed by his team.

"Yes sir," Zane grins, following his CO up the ramp- and being careful to school his expression into something a little more somber before they step through the event horizon.

{Chuck Campbell-Gate Technician} NPC

One by one the chevron's lit up until at the last the seventh chevron was locked. This was as standard procedure as you could get, with one small and minor addition. The last communication Richard had with the El'dari was rather terse; he was told under no circumstances would a team be allowed to travel to Glaðsheimr without a courtesy radio call first. They would simply die, splattered against the El'dari's own version of the iris, not to mention the multitude of defence weapons trained at all times on their gate room. "One moment Major." He cautioned Evan before he left.

"Atlantis calling the El'dari, we have our diplomatic team on standby. Over." The call had been made, Chuck waited anxiously.

The words had not long left his mouth when a reply came back to him.

*Radio from Glaðsheimr*

"You may proceed Atlantis."

Chuck stood from his control desk and in several strides he was at the railing looking down. "You have a go Major Lorne, good luck." Depending on the mood of the El'dari, he may or may not need it.

{ Chuck the Technician }

As soon as the gate starts dialing in, Chuck puts up the shield and makes the announcement. "Unscheduled off-world activation." That would alert Woolsey and the security teams to be on alert. But even before the teams are set up below and Mr. Woolsey arrives, he's getting Daniels' IDC and a radio call telling him that the tide was coming in fast. Without hesitating, Chuck lowers the shield to let the teams return.

{Richard Woolsey}

"They're earlier than expected." Richard mused casually, more to himself than anyone in particular, although he did say it aloud.

<<From Tur Salanus>>

Melinda stopped the very second her feet touched base with Atlantis, somehow she knew Woolsey would be up there looking down on them. With Sanita still looped in her arm, she put on her best pleading face, a little like a sad puppy and spoke loud enough for him to hear. "Mr Woolsey, this is Sanita, she followed me home, can I keep her please? Can I?" All the while she was elbowing the other woman in a sign to zip it, keep her mouth shut until she was asked to speak.

NPC {Capt Samuel Williams British Army}

Soon as he once again stepped through the stargate onto the base, Sam was pushed slightly aside as Mel pulled Sanita up a bit with her arm still looped under her arm. He had roll his eyes a bit and shake his head when Mel put on her best puppy dog eyes and loud voice pleading that Sanita can stay. He muttered walking off as he shook his head. He had a small issue with her staying. Just a small one. Or maybe it was a big one.

For one, they do not know this woman. For all he knows, Sanita could be a spy. Sam is an officer. Military. Of course he would have his suspicious and hoped the security will put the necessary restrictions so that Sanita wouldn't wander off and be viewing such classified materials yet. He can't trust Sanita yet. It was for the right reasons but he had to be quiet. Keep a tight lip. At least till he and Woolsley has a little chat about their mysterious visitor.

"Close the gate!" Synchronisation was everything to Cam - he had his mouth in gear even before he all but fell through the gate, followed by a small wave of sea water and the odd sea creature or two. A largish fish flapped itself stupid on the floor at his feet, a small crab like creature tried to make a hasty retreat back through the gate, only to be kicked out of the way by Cam. It slid across the polished surface like a noisy dinner plate fitted with ten legs and two massive snapping claws. Somehow it managed to evade the SF's and went skittering down a nearby hallway.

Cam now had a look of complete disgust on his face, not only had he lost a man (he noted four Medical orderlies carrying away the body bag), he had to suffer the indignation of being drenched. He wasn't a happy camper; the sooner he could get away from Atlantis, the better off he'd be. "Somebody catch that thing before we have an alien event!" He spat, with a mouthful of water.

From his point of view, to Richard it looked like chaos. Just another day to him, Colonel Mitchell added that new dimension to Atlantis - it wasn't like this at all with Sheppard. He leaned closer to the balcony railing to get a better look at things, speaking in firm tones. "Colonel Mitchell, Captain Williams, we'll debrief as soon as you get cleaned up. With all your team. Doctor Olofsson - no. Bring that woman up to me please, now." He turned sharply for his office. "Yes, just another day." He muttered.

Ashtah gasps slightly when she steps through the gate. For her first time through it, it wasn't overly momentous yet certainly served a purpose. She completely ignores the fact that her feet are .. damp. She glances back at the wormhole when it makes a suction sound as it disengages and frowns at it. It was all very strange. She looks around the city, ignoring the sea life that had somehow managed to get through and takes in her surroundings. Both in awe and caution - she didn't know if or when she might need to find a way to escape these people. But one thing was certain - they were not Ithirian. Nor did they appear to be in league with any of  their enemies. Or (to her dismay) the Travelers.

When the woman beside her asks permission of the bald man on the balcony above to 'keep' her, she sincerely hopes that it was in jest, and assumes that this man was their leader. In which case, she most certainly wished to speak with this man. Preferably alone, but she's quite certain that won't happen.  Not a problem, really. She is also certain that the man wouldn't allow anyone in the office with them who shouldn't be.

"Well, you heard the man." She urges gently, waiting to be escorted to see him. Looking at the quaint little woman beside her, Ashtah seriously contemplates letting the little woman 'keep' her and she allows a slight grin to appear on her face.

"I love the old man, but he is soooo serious." Mel quipped as she complied with Woolsey's order, taking 'Sanita' along in her wake across the polished floor and up the stairs. Not before dropping her pack at the bottom of course; at least that remained dry, she couldn't say the same for her boots. The dark marks behind her said 'he' wouldn't be impressed. They passed Chuck and Amelia, giving them both a courteous nod on the way, finally arriving at Woolsey's door just after he entered.

"Um..ah Mister Woolsey, this is Sanita. She er, um....crashed." Her mind faltered, why didn't everyone speak Danish.

<Gate Room>

Giving Woolsey a slight nodding gesture without a word, Cam took the man for his word. "Come on Sam, we'll make ourselves presentable. It seems as if the 'suit' would rather see us all clean and tidy before he debriefs us." He turned around looking for the nearest exit, which was to his left. At least he wouldn't have to smell his own body odor and he could indulge in a quick snack before he returned.
