[Personality & Traits]

General Overview: Walker Corwin joined the Marines for a challenge, and challenges are what he views to define himself. Success and failure are not so much the end of that view, but rather, how he handled those challenges are what is important. For him, there is no greater sin than shying away without trying. Even failure, to him, indicates that one at least tried. All of this colors his approach towards his duties and his peers. Overall, though, he is seen as a fairly friendly person, if a bit overbearing and bombastic at times. However, to his enemies, he is relentless, never giving into them.

Strengths and Weaknesses: One reason that Walker got the nickname "Bull" was because he can charge into situations just like one, taking on challenges and often disregarding the potential consequences. But also is the nickname "Barricade", a man who is steadfast in standing his grounds, even if it means coming off as stubborn. Walker is not arrogant, however, and if he is proven wrong, he will be the first to admit he was wrong.

Ambitions / Personal Goals: For Walker, his career is just made up of spur of the moment decisions to capitalize on opportunities presented to him. He has gotten this far only because he has no clear cut direction on where he wants to go. Personally, though, he does want to do whatever he can to make his father, a retired Marine, proud.

Hobbies: Walker enjoys playing as hard as he works, often taking on various physically challenging sports activities. He particularly enjoys practicing various hand-to-hand combat techniques, and is always on hand to teach personnel what he knows. Recently, he has started taking holo-simulation lessons in surfing, and is eager to tackle some programs available of some interesting locales.

Interests: Walker enjoys studying various martial arts texts, and has started to expand into learning more about various spritual beliefs, curious about what helps to balance a being as told by the various races in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Past that, anything involving physical sports typically has his attention, and he does enjoy grabbing some drinks with friends to observe the latest sporting event broadcasts.

Personal History:
Walker was born on New Berlin, Luna, in 2360 to a Starfleet Marine and a school teacher. From an early age, Walker was very competitive and wanted to become a Marine like his father. His brother had a wanderlust and was eager to leave Luna as soon as possible. Walker's father was wounded in action during the Dominion War, and was forced into retirement. He encouraged his son to become an officer instead of an "enlisted grunt", and so Walker pushed himself to be accepted by Starfleet Academy. In 2377, shortly before the return of USS Voyager, he was accepted into the Academy to begin training as a Marine officer.

After graduation, Walker was assigned as a squad leader with a Marine Detachment assigned to the USS Excalibur. For the next four years, Walker was involved in peacekeeping operations in the post-Dominion War Cardassian sectors. There he not only demonstrated good leadership skills, but he also demonstrated that he had excellent organizational skills and began to develop his knowledge of the weapons and equipment used by the Marines. However, he was often butting heads with the Chief Tactical/Security Officer on the Excalibur, as the two were very stubborn, and it did do some damage to Walker's career, albiet only minor. It did cause one of his promotion cycles to be passed over, leading to a later promotion to First Lieutenant.

After his tour of duty aboard the Excalibur, Walker was reassigned to the USS Nova, but quickly found the work dull as his Marines were just assigned to provide protection for survey missions deeper into the Alpha Quadrant. After two years, Walker requested a transfer off of the Nova, and was given the opportunity to transfer to the USS Valhalla as their Armory Officer.
