<Wraith Hive Flagship>

"Spoken well Sin. One day yet you may command your own ship." While he knew the Cleverman was at times bordering on the meek side; Guide saw in him a potential that will surely grow. Placing him with one as fearless, even bordering on fanatical in battle as Rhiase had its benefits for those under her. Now she was elsewhere dealing with the ground attack, Sin would gather more experience under his own leadership style, Todd was just slightly more cautious than his protege.

"Prepare the ship. We'll join in battle shortly, make the call for all pilots to be ready to launch to support the human effort on my command. As soon as the Dreadnought moves, we'll stand above and slightly behind them, we as yet have no idea what these vermin will bring to bear." @Sio83

<Dreadnought Stargate>

"I feel ya Sarge, man no matter how many times I step through the gate it still leaves me unsettled as if I've come through a very bad dream. As cold as it feels for that last instant, I end up sweating you know?" A man could be as tough as old boots, there were a few things though since joining Stargate Command that got to you. For Chris it was beaming and gate travel. "I'm good sir, as a matter of fact now we're here I'm better than good." He leaned his head to the girl. "When we get back to Atlantis Lou, you're gonna have to show us what we can do in our time off. So okay then boss, we go meet the family so to speak?" And he didn't miss the showing of the Wraith either; at least he was prepared for that event having been told by Amelia back on Atlantis.

<Dreadnought stargate>

Mike nodded, assured that his newly assembled team hadn't lost any limbs on the travel over. Judging by the fast-paced mobilisation of AR-5 and their arrival only signaled that they had jumped into the deep end, and with that, came another member of AR-5 - a corporal. He looked down to where she gestured about 'people looking for war' before looking back at his team, giving a hum of acknowledgement.

That was when they had been hailed over the comms - by a familiar name only mentioned a mere moment ago. Colonel Sheppard, he presumed. "This is Baker to Sheppard, roger. Moving there now." Mike turned to his team, tilting his head slightly, a wry smile crossing his features briefly as he echoed the young corporal's words. "Let's go meet the family then."

Sin nodded slightly as he followed instructions.  A nihilistic chuckle escaped him at the comment of 'we as yet have no idea what these vermin will bring to bear'.  Sin knew what they were capable of.  And what they weren't.  They burned, they tortured, they destroyed and left.

And yet, the humans still preferred them to his kind. Humans had seen this before with the Asurans, who only attacked thanks to poor decisions made on Atlantis  by the Tau'ri. Even without knowing the fault of those not native to this galaxy, it was easy to tell the difference.  Just one human wandering into the ruins left by the Asurans would know the wraith were not responsible.  Yet there was no appreciation for wiping out the old enemy, and little appreciation now.

For a race that trusted a wraith ship behind them in battle, Sin was sure they were up to something that would lead to the demise of his.  Still, best to live to warn his commander and queen another day.

Rodney  thought he heard Teyla say his name, but when he looked at her she was not looking at him, he was about to ask her if she had spoke but Sheppards voice broke in

"Yes, yes, all hands on deck, good luck to us all, we are going to need it"

And he followed his friends, hoping and praying that they would all make it out alive

<Dreadnought Bridge>

 "Aye Mister Hunter." Rank didn't matter here, Jason was the COB and in Naval parlance, that meant next to 'God'. Opening up a ships wide channel he made the broadcast. "All ships, groups of four, twenty kilometers spread." They'll know what he meant. It was hard to think in the same terms as other races, he hoped he was clear enough.

 That gave Lily a plan. Making people more useful where they can be used to their best capability. Looking around the bridge she spotted Aria a few feet away. "Commander Israel, your on pilot duty. Get yourself down to Jack in the hangar bay, let him decide what he needs most, 302 or 401..... Dave you're now effectively XO, if anything should happen to me you know what to do."

Aria Israel, Lt/Commander, XO

Dread. Bridge

It was that time when everything comes to this moment. On the bridge, Aria studied her scans. Taking a brief moment, she looked around her surroundings. The bridge slowly increased its population and then people started to leave. She awaited her order and it came when Lily asked her to go down to the Hangar bay on 'pilot duty'.

Slapping her heels together, she nodded, "Yes, ma'am."

She was gone. The XO took her leave of the bridge as Aria headed toward the lift.

Dreadnought Hangar bay, 'Pilot's Country'

Flying the 302 or the 401. It was her chance. She had the experience to fly these air crafts. Dressed in her pilot gear with her braided ponytail behind her, Aria walked around the Hangar. Ranks and position don't matter to her. She was there to help.

Looking around for Jack, Aria found him getting into his plane. She spoke, "You need another pilot, Commander? I'm here to fly."

It was all hands to work and she needed to get her hands dirty. The Vanir will pay for all of what they've done. With her at the cockpit gunning down Vanir clones.

 <Dreadnought Hangar Bay>

 As usual Jordan was at her bellowing best. Of course Mako had the floor for the time being, she let Michelle go for a spell before giving her own speech. "Right then AR-3, you've all heard what Lieutenant Hanley has to say. We are going in against nothing more than Xerox copies and while we do have a means to turn their blood lust off so to speak with the handy little weapon Doctor McKay developed, it was deemed impractical when dealing with such large numbers. All I will add is we go in, hit them fast and hit them hard."

Lieutenant Jon Agathon, AR-3 XO

Jon nodded. Hearing everything of what Hanley said did stir him up. It didn't boil his blood, but he was ready. Looking at his team, Cooper and Valentine, the Team XO replied to Jordan, "We're ready to show them what we got, ma'am."

Fully geared with his rifle slung close to his hips, he stood ready.

<Rabaul Bridge>

"Aye, aye, Captain" Juliette replied. She opened the circuit to her gun crews. "Boys and girls, the skipper wants one shot every two seconds. We can do that. We have lots of Vanir clones to turn into plasma." The idea of the COB making his rounds was greatly comforting.

<Dreadnought, Pilot Country>

 There wasn't much time to admire the new work done on the 401's. All now painted in the standard US buff grey but with a difference. Each and every ship had their squadron patches and all the 401 Squadrons throughout the fleet were now with the Marines flights; the reasoning being is that niche' they filled was much the same as carrier borne aircraft such as they big helos like the CH53 Super Stallion, the MV-22 Osprey and even the battle craft such as the AH-W1 Super Cobra and the various versions of the Grumman A6 (EA-6B Prowler) and the AV-8B Harrier. It had a lot of heritage to live up to and it had proven in its few short years of service to have done that. Despite the Marine tag, pilots were drawn from all services and all nations of the Stargate Alliance. The Death Dealer's patch on Liberty was most appropriate she felt; given what they had already dished out by the bucketful. "Well Rob I can't say we're not going to have fun out there today, or tonight whatever it is back home. Because I suppose the fun element has gone now that this is no longer going to be a turkey shoot; the seriousness has well and truly set in hasn't it?"

 Donning her helmet, also in buff grey Alecia mounted the steps up into the 401, inside then up into the cockpit. Liberty was one of only two such birds in the fleet with non avian names, every other 401 carried such names as the three others with them today. Vulture, Griffon and Harrier. Once harnessed in, she began the pre-flight checks; allowing Rob to check all the defense systems and weapons. "Make sure our missile interlocks are working 100%, we don't want any armed hang ups like Griffon had on the last mission, that can be in a word 'scary'." Next she called up the control station. "Control this is Liberty. Fifty Two ready to roll."

{Control} NPC

 From their position behind the glazed bunker mid way between both port and starboard launch bays the Control officers were able to see all aircraft lined up for take off; just like in a carrier you have the 'Air Boss' and 'Mini Boss' wearing their yellow and green jerseys. "Hobo 1-1, Liberty 1-1. You are cleared, Hobo flight starboard, Liberty port. Form up five klicks ahead of the boat targets of opportunity. Make them pay boys and girls and good hunting."

"Liberty to Control, Roger." Now they were set. The 401's had only to wait for their 302 escorts to lead out first.

                                           *******************

>>Dreadnought Stargate to Hangar deck>>

 As they began walking towards the rest of the ground teams Louise kept the conversation going. Bonding with a team she had been told was the glue that kept them together. "Well off duty we either hang around the city, I mean like there is a lot to do there. We have movie nights, or if you're into fishing you can throw a line off the piers. You gotta be careful what you catch though, not everything is exactly edible. Then we have art classes from Major Lorne and no that isn't as boring as it sounds. Some guys play music, we have three bands now." Then of course there were trips to the mainland and at times when it was peaceful they were allowed to visit friends they had made off world.

 They reached the assembly point. Now came the big speech by Colonel Sheppard; that was always exciting. "So, what about you guys, how did you all come together?" She asked the whole team as one.

<Dreadnought Hangar Bay>

 By the time they reached their destination there wouldn't be a moment to go through what had to be done, Jordan took whatever time she had to make sure everyone was in sync with one another and with the other teams. "Just in case you missed the memo, we're going in with all suppressed weapons, that means your side arm as well as your main weapon. As you heard from Lieutenant Hanley, our Wraith friends here are just that, they're on our side so watch your friendlies. We'll be in close quarters battle so it will get nasty make no mistake about that."

 @Shadowlord @Veteran52 @DanielRyder

 Rhiase was communicating with her warriors, it was a strange experience to watch from the human point of view since she didn't appear to be speaking, yet there was some kind of acknowledgement from them. Once she was done, she returned her attention to Michelle. "I think in time you will understand, nevertheless by the end of this affair we can consider all debts paid. My soldiers have been instructed to fill spaces in between your own, there will be no mislaid firing from mine I can assure you of that. We need to also reiterate that these beings, these clones as you call them don't go down as easily as most mortal beings. They will go down in the end, it merely takes a little more work on our part."

 With little else to be said or done, Teyla placed herself next to John. One thing she did though was to place her hand on Rodney's shoulder. "If all else fails Rodney, aim for the head if you have to and make every shot count. If you have any doubts or if one of our own, including our Wraith are too close to the target, hold back until there is a clear shot." Now they were ready.

Lieutenant Ben Stryker, Ship's Navigator

<Rabaul Bridge>

Ben looked up as the captain made his rounds. Offering a salute, he responded, "I can handle it, sir. Just say the word." As usual, the Navigator was never without his tablet as he keeps everything in line and organized. Tapping a few sections of the touch screen, he studied the screen before him. Even the fleet spread out a bit. It was a good tactic, but for how long will it last, Ben wondered.

<Rabaul Bridge>

 There was more, for him it was standard Naval tactics, for the Air Force folks it might be a little more than they bargained for. "Some of you will be aware, some of you won't. So I will make this very loud and clear for you. Our primary mission is to protect the Dreadnought at all costs and under normal circumstances that will involve two ships, as you know the Okinawa was unable to join us, so we will have one of the El'Dari cruisers as our opposite. Positioning is critical, we are to remain in front of the Dreadnought at all times, and yes we will take more hits than you can imagine, that is what this ship was designed for, even with shields we can take far more damage than most out there."

 Normally he wasn't one to make long speeches, this event though was unique. "Focus on your jobs and we'll get through. Very good Lieutenant Stryker, take us into position. Directly forward of the Dreadnought, keep her close, no more than two kilometers, less if you can hold her steady. Major McCaffry, call the ship to battle stations, condition Zulu. We are at war as of now. Lieutenant Junot, as soon as the first salvo is fired you'll be on the defensive I can guarantee that, how quick are you at making decisions on the fly?"

I don't want to be, how you say screwing up"She then smiled her 'quiet smile'.

<Rabual 1 deck main passage>

 Glad for having the company, Tucker and his companion the ship's security officer made their last inspection a few moments ago, that being the hangar deck where everything and anything is generally left laying around to become a potential threat to the crew once the fighting started. He remembered on the Hammond under Colonel Samantha Carter when in battle with the Lucian Alliance, a spanner, a mere six inch spanner killed a crewman in an instant as it went flying like a virtual bullet straight into the man's head. Getting the crew Chief to put everything away and secured wasn't easy because they'd still need their tools of trade once they were engaged and the 401's were returning. The woman would just have to make do. "Last stop is Med Bay Lieutenant, then back to the bridge to make our report." He paused by the large double doors into the medical section. "You've learned quickly, I doubt you'd be screwing up anything. My best advice is to keep your mind on the job you're assigned during battle stations, like myself we'll most likely find ourselves yelling loudly at gun hands to keep Lieutenant Junot's guns fed."

Lt.Leiovna squared her shoulders and acknowledged the Chiefs words. She would do all in her power to fulfill her new position as security personnel"Chief Tucker,some of my earlier training will help here,but I am willing to 're-learn' anything neede for doing good job.As for abilities I have, to be heard in battle,I have been told that my voice..Booms!She gave a small grin and awaited the next steps toward the Bridge.

<Dreadnaught Hangar Bay>
CPO Morgan took in all of the sights as they listened to their orders. He understood the implications ofavoiding 'friendly fire' incidents,having seen one during his last deployment,prior to joining the SG program. He was just finishing up his re-inspection of his weapons,ammo and gear."Right with you LT.!,We've had a taste of their tactics and their 'resolve',but they aren't individuals,but just clones,so lets give 'em a taste....
