<Underground>

Mckay followed down the ladder, he was not as elegant as Rhiase but he made it down with a thud, he looked around and straightened out his jacket and coughed

"That wasn't so bad"

He took a look around the room and walked over to the mainframe and found a hook up to his tablet, he tapped a few keys and looked over at the machine.

"That should about have it...just....a few..more....that's it, how long would you like this to be before it detonates?"

He looked over at Rhiase

  <Central Hangar Deck>

 By the time all was done, Alecia had moved her crew to near the ready room. For her was the debriefing, for her crew some down time; not too much of it though. "Rule of thumb Lieutenant, before any heavy mission, its something like swimming, eat light, extremely light. Being hungry makes you focus." She opened the door to the crew room. "Okay, you three get cleaned up, grab some chow if you need it and fill in your reports. Don't forget, compare notes and since the Lieutenant here didn't make it, you can both fill her in. Rob, Briggsy, once you've done that take Stella over to the Liberty, check with the crew chief and see the repairs are done. I have no idea what the skipper has in mind, but I can guarantee we'll be on forward patrol before we bug out." With that she left them to their own devices then headed for the bridge.

<Hive Flagship to Dreadnought>

"Now we will see the mettle they are made of Sin." Todd growled low, leading his second in command down to the shuttle bay. He had another more junior officer take command for the duration of their absence. "Acknowledged Dreadnought, we're on our way."

A short while later, after receiving docking instructions, the Wraith shuttle landed in the port side bay. Four burly marines escorted them both to the Wardroom and though this was Todd's third visit to this ship, he was still fascinated by the level of technology the humans had achieved.

"Wait here." They were ordered as two remained outside while two took them inside. The large polished oval table was flashy in his mind, but it was something he to would most likely show off if he was to impress say a Queen he needed to manipulate. While they were left more or less alone, Todd stood by a large photo on the wall of San Francisco bay; where Atlantis hid for almost a year and he in captivity. ~Six billion Sin, think of that. Six billion human beings reside there.~ He sent telepathically. Well not exactly there but he knew Sin would understand.

Juliette acknowledged the order and went to one of the conference rooms. Checking the time she snagged one of the stewards and ordered a breakfast buffet and hot coffee and tea to be brought to the room. Then she set up recording devices to record everything said in the room for later review. She would tell them to just talk. It was a debriefing technique the Royal Air Fiorce used in WWII. The only thing missing was the rum.

<Dreadnaught Wardroom>

Sin didn't catch the meaning Guide wanted to tell him.  Six billion humans.  How many were armed to the teeth? How many nuclear weapons did they have?  Explosives?  Stargates?  He doubted any were as friendly as the Tau'ri he'd encountered and assumed they were about as easy to feed on.

~It's a rather hideous and primitive bridge if you ask me.~

  <Underground>

 "The question is....are you sure you're alright?" Teyla interrupted what she was saying, poor Rodney was starting to look a little beat up. "As I was saying Rodney, the question is how big an explosion is it going to be?"

 While he was doing his thing Rhiase stood guard with her last remaining impassive Blade, he stood rock still by the outer wall, no one would even notice him. She looked inside when McKay asked the question, she had heard Teyla's own question. "Regardless, any size explosion down here will cause concussion, we'll need to take a chance back up top I'm afraid. Set it for ten minutes." A big chance, but she had an idea which way to go and that might aid in getting in contact with the fleet as well.

McKay looked at Teyla and said, waving his hand at her

"Yes yes, I'm fine, be  much better when we get out of here"

He glanced at Rhiase

"Ten minutes it is, the blast will probably take down this whole section, so i suggest, ...strongly, that we run very fast"

<Bridge>

Mesa blew out a soft breath.  So the Wraith were coming over.  Telling friends and enemies apart certainly wasn't easy,  Lily hadn't disagreed so she felt better about her choice.  She ,looked up as Tucker squeezed her shoulder, nearly getting lost in his hypnotizing eyes.   Dang it.  Get it together, girl.  She wasn't 13 anymore.  She did flash him a smile.  "Better?" She teased softly before he walked away.

<Central Hangar Deck>

Rob hid a yawn behind his hand.  His adrenaline was crashing now.  He nodded as he listened to Alecia.  "Of course.  Food sounds great right now.  And We'll keep an eye on Liberty."  He looked over at Stella.  "Ready to be filled in on everything?" He asked her with an easy smile, his blue eyes dancing.

<Dreadnought Wardroom>

 The guards at the door snapped to attention as Lily approached, she merely nodded to them with her usual curt manner. Not that she had any disregard for the lower ranks, it was simply business; some of her best friends in the service off duty were NCO's. Tucker followed closely at the appropriate two paces behind.

 "You're quick Commander Todd, I'll grant you that." She dipped her head in a form of greeting to both Wraith, not entirely sure of the other's name. "Please be seated, I'm sure we have a lot to discuss. The first thing I need to inform you of is that your Commander Rhiase, along with Teyla Emmagan and Doctor McKay are listed as missing on the surface. Our last contact with them was just prior to Colonel Sheppard's evacuation. I believe they are alive as we detected a 401 self destruct some minutes ago and that does need to be activated by a human code." It was a worry and one she was determined to fix. The how of the matter was the sticking point.

 Tucker moved to the side of the Skipper, pulling out a chair for her. "We detected at least five companies moving up to our last surface landing zone sir. That is around a 1,000 clones, a full battalion. How they moved so many so quickly is a puzzle, but our intel points to that surface area being just the tip of an iceburg with the larger picture being below."

 Accepting the offered chair, Lily sat slowly, she was still slightly off from the earlier concussion.

<Hangar bay to #2 conference room>

 The two women met in the elevator with both of them first heading to the bridge, then being redirected to one of the conference rooms. At the door they stopped for a moment with Jordan explaining. "We've left Baker behind. Christ my head is all over the place right now."

 Alecia placed a calloused hand on the other woman's shoulder. "We're all in the same boat figuratively Commander. Take a deep breath." She then pipped her radio. "Warrant Officer Baker, this is Major Satterfield. Please make your way to the Number two conference room, aft bridge level." She let her hand drop. "That should do it...shall we?" Her right hand pointed within the room where she saw two officers she didn't recognize, other than they were both Lieutenants.

 "Thanks." Jordan said gratefully, following Alecia into the room. "Commander Jordan O'Neil, CO of AR-3." She introduced herself.

 "Major Aleica Satterfield. Commander of the 52nd Attack Squadron."

<Kenny's Ship>

Bonewhite had impatiently paced the bridge of his ship for hours. Just waiting and not being able to intervene was not sitting well with him. Guide's wish had been that he stayed out of sight for the time being – another one of his notorious side-plans and last-minute surprises that he was so famous for.

The last signals they'd picked up from the flagship weren't reassuring and yet another time he turned to the sensor readings; looking over the shoulder of a cleverman who was becoming more nervous every time he did that. Nothing, still nothing. He bared his teeth in silent disapproval. No news from Guide… and still no news from Rhiase. This worried him even more though he'd never admit it.

Clicking his claws absent-mindedly on the nearest console, he reached a decision. He'd been a friend of Guide for centuries and Rhiase was close to him, so he might be able to pick up their telepathic presences if he got close enough.

Haze, he adressed the blade who manned the flight controls. Get us to these coordinates. He entered the data which would bring them close enough to be within reach but not so close to alarm the Vanir of their presence. Haze was well aware of Guide's orders so he hesitated but one look into Bonewhite's face told him that "No" wasn't an option.

- oOo -

The hiveship dropped out of hyperspace and by Bonewhite's orders was steered into the orbit of a nearby planet.

Bonewhite went into his quarters; he needed quiet, shut down all distractions and get into a calm state of mind. When he felt that he was focused, he sent out his thoughts.

~Guide… Rhiase… Standing by, do you need assistance?~

<Dreadnought Wardroom>

~It has that typical human mindset for the industrial appearance with little thought to art and form.~ That was his own assessment on many human endeavours. ~And their passion for making a statement. Still I suppose given its apparent age according to Sheppard it is-~ He was interrupted by the ship's Captain and one of her lackeys. Todd turned from the photograph, encouraging Sin to do the same.

"Ah Captain Radovic, you know my second, Sin." He rubbed his chin for an over long moment as he absorbed the information she had given them. "Well this does change things, my purpose of being here was to submit an immediate plan to give our common enemy some pause, while at the same time giving us some room to breathe so to speak." Those feline like eyes caught Sin's attention. ~The loss of their precious Doctor McKay doesn't disturb me. The loss of Rhiase would put our plans for reinvention of our race back several hundred years, as much as I have wanted to strangle her a thousand times~

Should he reveal all, he might as well. "My intention Captain and thank you for the ground situation update Tucker." Yes he knew the name, he rarely forgot minor details like that. "Was that since my flagship has suffered such extensive damage, regeneration will take ages, a time we cannot afford. I was willing to sacrifice the ship by sending it to that city ship armed with some of your nuclear devices. Having some of our people still down there makes this plan difficult to say the least."

As he was speaking, the one friend he could count on, as Wraith count such trivial human associations. ~I will shortly my dear friend. Although I feel the child may need more of your aid than I. I've just learned she is still on the surface of the Vanir world somewhere with Teyla Emmagan and McKay. We may need something unusual to recover them, if my other plan is to come to fruition.~

  <Underground>

 Rhiase communicated to her Blade to lead the way, she told him to head north, then east to bring them as far away from the earlier landing zone as possible and the impact zone of the now non existent ship that McKay and Teyla had traveled in. Knowing that both humans would be exhausted, even the plucky Emmagan, if they ran at Rhiase's pace, she checked herself to ensure they didn't fall behind. It was Teyla though who spoke first after Rodney gave his notice of just how big an explosion this was going to cause.

 "Just the same Rodney..." then she dismissed what she was about to say, down here it didn't matter anyway. "Then run we shall. Do you know how strange this is, we're putting our trust in a Wraith, and not for the first time. I suppose in time we'll find out what the price may be." With that she wasn't far behind Rhiase, keeping an eye on Rodney at the same time. They went along straight passages, avoiding contact with the clones wherever they could; although one section they had to fight through that saw the end of the last of Rhiase's Blades. Teyla for some strange reason felt a sense of sorrow at losing him, he had been the strongest to have lasted so long and had put himself in harms way many times to save a human. She touched his brow, closing his eyes as she passed by.

 "We're almost there." The half Wraith called behind her, going up an inclined stair well to the surface, she peered above to ensure it was clear and in the far distance west she could see the fires from the 401 explosion. No clones in sight, but as soon as that cloning facility blew, she was aware they'd be hunted down quickly. It was then she heard Bone White's call in her mind, a joyful almost human like smile crossed her face.

 ~Come to save my worthless hide again 'father'~ She used the familial term loosely. For while Bone White had virtually raised her; from adulthood she gave him more reason to wish he had never met her, at the same time just enough reasons to be glad he did. ~The Vanir clones are as thick as ants on a carcass, both in the air and on the ground. But....a feint attack by a handful of Darts to my west, might be enough time for another Dart to come my way. If you don't mind passengers of course~ To be honest, she wanted to hug him; not that she ever would, at least not until she was drawing her last breath.

Rodney nodded, not that Teyla could see that, and said in a low voice

"Yes, it's a  little unsettling,  but we don't have a lot of choice do we,  i suspect it's because it's  beneficial to us all, for now"

He glanced at the tablet and spoke in an urgent manner, his voice rising as he spoke

"We better pick up the pace people"

He said, moving a little faster himself, tho, not by much, he was getting tired, but he knew he had to keep moving, it was either that or die,and  he wasn't enamoured with the second option

He heard Rhiase mention they were nearly there and with relief he said

"Bout time, but we still need to keep moving kids, I don't think you have a clue as to the size of this blast"

<Kennys Hive>

Relief flooded his mind as he established contact to both his most precious allies. Just for a short moment – he would never allow his sentiments to get into the way of efficiency. Bonewhite sent out an affirmative thought in Guide's direction. He sensed the Commander was involved with delicate negotiations with the humans, so he did not want to distract him. If he needed Bonewhite, he would contact him soon enough. He took his time to communicate with Rhiase, however. She obviously needed help immediately.

~Yes, 'daughter', once again I am here to get you out of trouble. Like a cat that has climbed up too high into the tree, you have overestimated yourself – again. And I am here to get you down safely.~ He said it with mild resignment and knew Rhiase would pick up the underlying humour. Though he had cursed himself numerous times for 'adopting' her, he would always be there if she needed help. ~If a handful of darts is required for this, so be it.~ Bonewhite knew more than enough volunteers among his blades, who would gladly risk everything to impress Rhiase. Finding pilots for this mission would be no problem at all. Quickly calculating the distance and course they would have to take he continued, ~Expect them in about fifteen minutes.~

With the last words, he closed the telepathic communication and took a quick moment to breathe deeply. The long-distance contact was very taxing. When he opened his eyes again, he rose and stepped out of his quarters without hesitation. In no time he reached the bridge, informing his officers telepathically as he went.

~I need six darts on course to the Vanir base to distract our enemies. Five darts are going to these coordinates,~ quickly he transmitted a lacation west from Rhiase. ~One dart will head directly towards Rhiase and pick her and her company up. Bring them all back safely to the hive on the shortest route. I trust, we have an able pilot to do this?~

As he entered the bridge, one of the younger blades, with a mind sharp like a razor stood up. "May I have your permission to take over that mission. I will bring her back safely."

Bonewhite grinned to himself. "You have my permission. But stay out of trouble, the Vanir must not even know you are there."

- oOo -

Only moments later, six darts left the hiveship and took course for the Vanir base. As they entered the atmosphere, they broke formation. Five went off to cause some annoyance and the last one went down as low as he dared, picking up Rhiase's telepathic presence. He was dismayed that he could not find any other Wraith presences except Teyla Emmagan, but now was not the time to mourn his comrades. He reached out for Rhiase's mind, waiting for her to confirm she was ready to get beamed up.
