« on: January 11, 2017, 01:25:33 AM »

This music thread can be for songs released between 1980 and 2000

Here are some of my favourites:

The Tragically Hip - Wheat Kings (1992)

Midnight Oil - Blue Sky Mine (1990)

The Cranberries - Zombie (1994)

2Pac - Changes (1998) -- but recorded in 1992

Queen - Princes of the Universe (1986)

We're not Princes, we're the Emperors of the Universe! >:D

I'm currently letting my ears drown in Die Ärzte.

Here are some examples that I personally favourite.

Mysterland - 1986

Komm Züruck - 1988

Siegerin - 1988

Mach die Augen zu - 1993

Gehirn-Stürm - 1993

Meine Explodierte Freundin - 1995

Rock'n'Roll Übermensch - 2000

Baby - 2000

N48.3

So, it'd be nearly entire 2000 album Runter mit den Spienderhosen LOL and some of the later songs from the 0'es like Junge

Bickering with an admin is like fighting a dragon. You gave him a good kick, poked his eye with your sword and already are aiming to cut his throat open, when the dragon gets tired and finally breathes out.

That got me digging up the emperors of German minimalism: Trio

Back to English, and as far into the West as west goes. I'm talking about the Seattle trifecta:

Pearl Jam - Jeremy (1991)

Nirvana - Come As You Are (1992)

Soundgarden - Spoonman (1994)

And then after Kurt blew his brains out, we had to listen his drummer sing:

Foo Fighters - Everlong (1997)

A couple more Tragically Hip songs. About a year ago, their frontman was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, and so in August 2016 the group did what was likely to be their last tour across Canada, with the final show in their home town of Kingston, Ontario. The venue in that town was very small and could only hold about 7,000 people, so they decided to air the concert live on CBC, commercial-free, for the whole country to watch. Even the Canadian Olympic athletes in Rio were able to gather in the Team Canada clubhouse to watch the show. I thought it was a pretty classy move, and so here are two of my favourite songs from that group:

Bobcaygeon (1999)

Little Bones (1991)
