"My lord said that there were only two creatures on the planet and that were in the area of the abandoned mines of Ketef, it seems that the area is no longer accessible for centuries because of the collapse of the tunnels of the mine that have released a deadly miasma for anyone who inhales it even for a few moments ... that's why no one has ever gone to those places despite the mines still have a lot to extract! "concluded the girl while Jandir walked away worried visibly.

"What do you mean to do Jah'makor?" Fa'ran asked his companion, seeing how the companion was particularly worried about what awaited him. Faris and Rashaken had no idea of what the mission involved or perhaps they knew from the beginning of the real danger that they ran, after all all three had been of the Shol'vah, Far'an included despite the kinship with the First Prime. The jaffa took a moment before answering the companion who had been waiting until then.

"We are not sure that Faris and Rashaken had this information from the beginning and that they sent us to die on missions, but also were, we have chosen all three to serve the goa'uld again and all three are aware of the choice that each of us has done on this, if there really is this threat ... we will eradicate it and we will complete the original mission that has been assigned to us, certainly the forced labor at the Ba'tak shipyard now compared to the risk that we should run, is very little thing! "concluded Jah makor smiling at his companions.

"Well ... it could even have been worse, actually!" Bursting Jandir himself laughing while Fa'ran smiled unconvincingly, the tension finally subsided.

"But soon it will be night and you can not leave this camp in peace, come with me, I will lead you where you can find refuge and rehabble for this night, you leave tomorrow morning more rested!" The girl completed heading to the door of his hut. The group followed her through the narrow lanes of the camp until they were inside an abandoned building, but in a good state of preservation. The roof was still perfectly intact, the walls however faded in their reliefs, showed the image of Khnum before his worshipers or while performing some religious ritual.

"I did not know this temple ... and I do not know the Goddess that accompanies the God Khnum in all the depictions, before the Queen Satis, I did not imagine that our lord had another wife and queen!" Jandir exclaimed observing the bas-reliefs partially readable.

"Before Satis, Khnum had as his wife a queen goa'uld named Nebtu, a goddess who protected the oases and mines, she controlled this planet on her behalf, but about 1500 years ago her unexpected death occurred, she suspects that she was killed by the tok'ra forcing our gentleman to find an unexpected solution .... the marriage with the Queen Heket lasted until the fall of the empire, then it was also killed and since then it is the Queen Satis who reigns from the throne of the planet Khenem! "Fa'ran concluded, astonished his companions with the knowledge of the history of the goa'uld all three were serving and to whom they had sworn loyalty until death.

Safenkel planet, Nebtu temple                                      1/2

The image of Nebtu stood out on the walls of the ruined temple, barely illuminated by the light of the few lamps at their disposal. The darkness had descended around the temple itself and the area in which they were, in the distance you could barely see any light of some hut in the village of Dush. All three jaffas were still awake, having consumed a frugal dinner consisting of eggs, onion, garlic and some pieces of meat and some loaf of bread, all washed down with light beer, the three jaffas were busy preparing and revising their weapons and the Semerkhet of each. Movements were possible only through them, they could not move as Akar Duau Sef with Asgard transport. Their movements would have been slower and at least apparently limited. Yet Jah makor had a hope that the killer goa'uld could fail in his mission. Finally fatigue took over the adrenaline of the three warriors and all three of them settled in their respective beds, closing their eyes, giving their lives to Morpheus, the lord of dreams. The night passed quickly without any incident and in the morning the sun peeked out between the columns and the walls of the temple, filtering from the side walls where openings similar to slits, were barely visible. The first to wake up was just Jandir, who gathered his things, awoke the two companions softly. Jah'makor woke up immediately while Fa'ran uttered some incomprehensible words because of sleep, but then opened his mouth yawning noisily. In a few minutes the three still ate a frugal but substantial breakfast as they found a fruit tray on top of them, including large sugary dates, figs and meat from an animal whose flavor was similar to chicken. Only after they had refilled, the three returned to the camp, but only Fa'ran entered the hut to see the young slave girl again. The meeting lasted a few minutes, then Fa'ran reappeared to his companions with a different light in his eyes.

"We can go, we will head towards the western mountains, according to what the girl who took care of us told me, in that place is Akar Duau Sef looking not only of the tok'ra, but of the medallion of the Gods, a crystal with large capacities, probably a key to the final destination! "Fa'ran completed looking at the comrades who had remained silent until then.

"Ok, how long will we reach the western mountains?" Asked Jandir knowing full well that the sun and the heat would have enveloped them in a spiral of death before evening if they had not found the indicated place or at least an intermediate stage where to settle in waiting of the descent of temperatures.

continuation ...

"We should get there in about 10 hours of walking at top speed but we can not travel at such speed for such a long time and with such bad weather conditions, we still have an intermediate stop to find shelter, it's Kel'shak ruins, a time home to some active mines exhausted thousand years ago, in that place should still be quite intact the temple of Nebtu, in that place we could find shelter! "concluded Fa'ran seeing the perplexity in the eyes of his companions.

"We have no other choices I guess ... so let's go first, first we'll get to the destination!" Jandir added, passing his teammate Jah makor and placing himself on his Semerkhet. In a few moments even the remaining two jaffas placed themselves on their vehicles and set off on the first leg of their journey to the western mountains. The heat increased as the journey progressed, after all the western mountains were beyond the equatorial line of the planet, a place where the temperature reached very high peaks and where the radiation was lethal in any case. The jaffa armor they possessed was able to shield much of the solar radiation, while the nanites regulated the internal ones, regenerating the altered or dead or damaged cells in near-real time. Despite the helmet, all three jaffas were sweating by the great heat in spite of the cool caused by the constant speed kept constant. They would arrive at the Kel'shak ruins before evening. They would have camped for the night.

The ruins of Kel'shak, many hours later

The sun is nearing sunset when we see the three Semerkhets appear fast on the horizon. The three jaffas arrive near the temple or what remains of it, a few standing columns, some walls and a single point still covered by the roof while all around them the desert looms with its dunes. Arrived at the ruins, the first to take off the mask was just Jandir to see how much the place had to offer.

"Ruins and not even in good condition, since Nebtu died, his cult has not only been forgotten, but also his temples have been forgotten and returned to oblivion, we could find little comfort in this place, this temple does not was a small ritual center, I have my serious doubts that there was a community in this place! "concluded the jaffa looking at the ruins.

"They will also be ruins, but for this night they are fine!" Jah Makor replied almost amused, passing his companion.

Safenkel planet, Kel'shak ruins                                         1/2

"They will also be ruins, but for this night they are fine!" Jah Makor replied almost amused, crossing his companion and putting his stuff to sleep on that site that night, directly on the sandy floor of the ruins. The three jaffas had not had much choice, but even Akar Duau Sef did not seem to have had as much luck. Although equipped with transport asgard, apart from this advantage, he too could not help but find makeshift shelters for the night. It was often his genetic memory that drove him to the places where he would find water and supplies. The sand and the heat diminished as the stars appeared in the sky of the planet Safenkel. A hostile, arid place, unfit for life, yet Khnum had decided to keep that place as a possession, regaining it during the first 5 years after the end with the war against the Oriians and the fall of the empire goa'uld. In addition to Safenkel, also other planets that for a very short period had returned free from the control goa'uld, now again were part of small principalities. Khnum was rebuilding his possessions slowly, but not just him. Even other goa'uld minors or new symbionts matured shortly before the fall of the empire, now reigned on planets whose primitive population, still feared them and honored them. Safenkel, however, was not this case. The goa'uld had kept that place despite the great sacrifices and Khnum had made it a place to build an experimental ship. Of course he possessed a huge fleet built secretly in that period of chaos, but he was not the only one. Other goa'uld had emerged as powerful as Alienna, Grundel and the same ally of Khnum, the goa'uld Sobek the crocodile. All these thoughts were in the minds of the three jaffas and beyond. Even Akar Duau Sef reflected on the situation, he a simple ash'rak who would never have in the past been able to rise to a higher rank, now had the opportunity to do so without incurring so much in the wrath of Khnum himself. With these thoughts both the jaffas, and the goa'uld, fell asleep in their respective beds until the next morning, when the first were the jaffas to wake up. Gathering their own things quickly, the jaffes set off again on their Semerkhet, heading for the western mountains. The sand and dust wrapped around when a sandstorm approached them dangerously. All three stopped to figure out where to find refuge in the middle of nowhere, not realizing that the western mountains were right in front of them. But the visibility was absent and the dust would stop their vehicles inside a blanket of extremely hot and potentially lethal sand and dust for anyone.

"We must find a shelter or cross the storm in its less dense and dangerous part, according to the sensors inside it, there is a particularly dangerous area where the temperature exceeds 60 degrees and the electric force is such that it destroys not only the propulsion system of the Semerkhet, but it can cross our armor and destroy us by killing us! "Jandir completed reading what the sensors of his Semerkhet had just finished analyzing. The companions were silent for a moment as soon as it seemed an eternity.

"According to the sensors there is a corridor within the less dangerous storm, but it changes continuously and we risk being killed, however we can not stop now, the storm proceeds fast and according to what these sensors say, the western mountains are just behind it seems to be something within the mountain range to create this lethal storm! "added Fa'ran. The three looked at each other before making a decision.

"If we fail, we're all three dead anyway, if we try we might have a chance to do it, but if we stay still, we'll never know, moreover the corridor can not hold the time to let us all pass together. It is appropriate to cross the storm blanket one at a time, there are not many other possibilities! "Jah'makor finally concluded, observing how the sensors of his Semerkhet indicated the opening of corridors sufficient only for one Semerkhet at a time.

"Okay ... death by death let's go split, I'll leave first, after all if I die now it will not be different from having done it to the shipyard, but at least I will have tried!" Jandir added, stepping forward and closing his helmet Horus. His Semerkhet stood before the blanket of clouds and waits, then suddenly disappeared inside. His signal was lost a few moments later due to the very high magneticity of the storm.

"See you on the other side!" Exclaimed Fa'ran leaving his comrade Jah makor last to overcome the storm. As for Jandir, the Fa'ran Semerkhet also disappeared making it lose track. Left alone Jah makor brought himself before the blanket of sand and dust and waited. The roar, the lightning, the powerful wind, he could feel the sand scrape his armor and beyond. The jaffa took a deep breath and then waited for the right moment. A window opened in the blanket and Jah makor threw himself into it at full speed, hoping to get over that stormy front quickly. In his mind already exhausted by fatigue, the attention was at its best, had never seen a storm of such power, not on a planet Earth.

Safenkel planet, Western mountains

Within the storm front, the Semerkhets of the three jaffas were darting along the corridor that had been created for a few minutes just in their passage. Each of the three jaffas would not have followed the same path as the comrades, but a different one because the corridors were different and the places where they would exit were different. The storm inside was terrifying, the wind was very strong, the heat tremendous, the magnetism the lightning and other factors, showed all their lethal power to each of the three jaffas. If Akar Duau Sef had wanted to jump inside or cross that stormy wall, he would have had no way of doing it on foot. aboard each vehicle, the jaffas darted automatically changing course to avoid lethal discharges that descended to the ground, raising even more sand, crushed rock and earth. The storm existed from human memory, or perhaps it was even older. But none of the three jaffas would have let it go. They would have traveled that hell and would have emerged unharmed on the other side. The first to emerge was not Jandir, but Fa'ran started as a second and now wrapped in the dust that covered him, but alive. his Semerkhet appeared like a splinter and the jaffa stopped a few meters from the rock before him. Almost at risk of crashing. the Horus helmet reopened, showing the face of Fa'ran covered with sweat but alive. The jaffa remained silent a moment before seeking the presence of the comrades, not seeing them yet to arrive. After a few minutes when it seemed to him that the storm was turning towards itself, Fa'ran saw what looked like a human bullet. Jandir appeared like a crazy splinter that dangerously approached the vertical ridge behind him. The Semerkhet quickly stopped decelerating in a few moments. Fa'ran approached to understand which of his two companions were. The helmet of the newcomer drew back.

"The storm was very tough I do not say that I had difficulty when I was formed before an electromagnetic vortex that also lifted the heavy magni that dotted the floor ... I was lucky to be able to get out alive ... but Jah 'makor? " he asked, frowning, looking around without seeing his companion.

20 minutes later ...

In fact, several minutes had passed since the arrival of the first two jaffas, but there was no trace of Jah'makor. The two jaffas waited twenty minutes before really to worry. Jandir's face was particularly worried, even though he did not know his partner, a feeling of brotherhood, however, had always been turned on when between jaffà, a mission was accomplished together.

"Fa'ran ... I come back inside and I'm going to look for it, do not stop me!" exclaimed Jandir trying to put in awe the comrade who first looked him in the eyes and then smiled at him in reply.

"Be  patient Jandir, the storm is not a simple obstacle to overcome, if Jah'makor has encountered difficulties, will solve them and find a way out as he has always done, this storm is nothing but one of the many tests that Khnum wants to submit to understand how truly can he trust us and how much our fidelity to the Gods is present in our hearts ... "

"Jah makor will also pass this test, I'm sure!" finally he ended up waiting and observing the small computer of his Semerkhet, hoping to see the companion's signal appearing somewhere. And just as it was said by Fa'ran, suddenly a signal appeared about ten minutes later, but its power was in sharp decline as well as its speed. Jah'makor appeared from the blanket of lightning dust and destruction, but his Semerkhet had been heavily damaged. part of the side was destroyed and had been torn. Unlike his companions, the jaffa stopped long before the cliff rocks. The semerkhet finally stopped and the jaffà quickly picked up the supplies by placing them on their shoulders and running towards their companions. With a huff of breath, the jaffa came falling to its knees, destroyed and exhausted.

"Jah makor we were worrying not seeing you coming ..." Jandir exclaimed but the comrade getting back on his feet helped by Fa'ran, immediately addressed the words.

"It was hell!"added the jaffa, wiping the sweat from his forehead after opening the Horus mask.

Safenkel planet, the western mountains

"My Semerkhet is destroyed because of a shock that has hit him during the path, it is not possible to use it, I think you have to continue you, I will wait here until the provisions are over, I would be a burden for you!" he exclaimed after recovering his jaffa from his companions. The latter looked at each other before it was Fa'ran to reply in turn.

"We left together and together we will return in the presence of Khnum, we will force ourselves to travel on one of the Semerkhet and I do not want to hear more these negative and destructive speeches you understand me Jah'makor?" he concluded by asking his companion to take back what he had just heard. The latter stared at him for a long time before replying in turn.

"As you want Fa'ran, but as far as I can see we came to the western mountains, I think now the real difficulty will come, this place has been home to strange events in the past, it would not surprise me that rumors about strange creatures hidden in this place , be true! " he completed looking back at his companions. Fa'ran smiled while replying to Jandir. The jaffa approached his companion placing a hand on his shoulder.

"In any case, we will assert our intentions, we have destructive grenades, stun grenades, auctions ma'tak and zat'nik tel we can do it, do not you think that Akar Duau Sef if you pass it decidedly better than us, also if he has reached this place, he will have done it through a means of transport, the electric storm creates an interference with which the asgard transport device can not work, too much ionisation of the atmosphere ... "he concluded looking at his companions before adding again.

"In any case, let's ensure a security perimeter, let's camp for the moment here, tomorrow morning we will penetrate the mountain range ok?" he completed seeing his companions nod.

Western mountains, temple of the Gods

The storm that never ended, continued unabated and nobody knew when it had originated, and if ever it would have had an end. The only thing the three jaffas knew was that with only two Semerkhets they could not go very far. However, the night passed around them and very early in the morning, even if it was not clear to them for the time or if it was morning, they entered the western mountains. A long corridor barely illuminated by the supplied flashlights, led to a huge hall supported by four pillars. The level of the floor was several meters lower and a staircase that ran along the sides, allowing anyone to go down to the lower level. At the center of the four square pillars, there was a large source of water, a tank filled with the sacred symbol of the goa'uld Khnum. an immense and very high statue depicted him in the center. The statue was impressive, in stone of the same complex, clearly worn by the wear and tear of the water and the humidity of the place, yet majestic. The face of God was still particularly penetrating. The three jaffes waited a moment to observe it before looking into the great hall if there was anything else. from a crack of the ceiling came that little and dim light that did not make the environment plunged into darkness. There were numerous bracers along the walls, none of which had been lit up until then. It was Jah'makor who lit them in sequence, illuminating the great hall better. Only then did the three jaffes realize that they were inside one of the ancient temples in which Khnum had been venerated. On the walls, bas-reliefs showed the birth of God by the work of a queen goa'uld called Cleopatra, the death of the latter by the hand of assassins of Anubis, the maturation of the goa'uld and its union with the first guest Unas. the path of Khnum's life had been a succession of clashes, dialogues, but above all battles for survival, at least until he had joined as many other goa'uld, in the faction led by Ra. As one of his lieutenants, he had led reprisals against the allies of Anubis, reporting significant victories. this is why when Ra came to Earth, Khnum himself was allowed to come and take for himself a series of populations, one of the few goa'uld who had indeed had unconditional access to the planet. since then he had served as Ra's underlord, but even that period had ceased. Now powerful thanks to a patient work, he had created his own fortune. the story continued until the moment when the ra forces were defeated by the control of the planet Khenem. Khenem had been the greatest conquest of Khnum, a flourishing place, a particularly rich planet, in which a battle had been fought by carrying the armies of ra in a numerical majority, to be annihilated before the forces best trained by the goa'uld. Ra had not claimed the planet, but had imposed strict rules on Khnum. He would not have been allowed to expand for at least 1000 years, but those 1,000 years had not passed at all when the Supreme System Lord had met death at the hands of the Tau'ri. But this did not indicate the bas-reliefs. The story ended with the conquest of Khenem. but on one wall something showed what could be a monster, defeated and chained. The goa'uòld hieroglyphs indicated the name of the creature, larger than the warriors represented but not more than Khnum himself. Humbaba was the name of the gigantic creature. Nobody had ever heard of it.It was in fact Jandir approached the relief to address the word to the comrades to ask for clarifications about the mysterious figure.

"Humbaba, I have never heard of it when I was serving with the God Apophis, I have never heard of it nor heard of it!" exclaimed the jaffa turning to his companions. To reply was Jah Makor in a calm tone.

"As far as I know ... Humbaba was a goa'uld who originally controlled this planet, he was one of the subordinates of System Lord Marduk and seems to have been one of the scientists at his service ... he is said to have had an appearance horrible and guarding an enchanted forest in which monsters from the individual planets of Marduk lived only to be a hunt for the jabs of the System Lord! " completed the jaffa looking at his companions.

"Did you say he died right?" he asked in turn Fa'ran , making himself intruding in the speech.

"It seems to have been killed by an ash'rak sent by Marduk himself, it seems to me that he was called Gilgamesh, according to the goa'uld legends, Humbaba had managed to create a hybrid so dangerous that Marduk himself was worried, but before that the beast could show itself, the System Lord had him killed and he generated the storm that has been raging since the dawn of time! "

"The storm seems to be the barrier that blocks this monster, this experiment inside the western mountain, our true mission!" finally he completed Jah makor while the silence descended again in the hall.

Western mountains, temple of the Gods

The image of the monster was frightening, the teeth looked like those of a prehistoric shark, the skin of the face, made of human entrails united in human form, long hair gathered in a broad braid, furious eyes. around him what could be a forest or a representation of it. The three jaffas looked at the monster's representation for a long time before resuming their positions and comments. The looks were particularly troubled, none of them had ever faced such a great danger in the past. No goa'uld who had served had asked for such a great trial, but now Khnum also demanded this. They who were vile traitors to the Gods, had to atone or perish in infamy. But none of the three wanted to go back to the shipyards and certainly could not have escaped from that cursed place.

"I believe that the proof we are destined for is not to find a miserable tok'ra, but to bring the head of this mythological monster before the God Khnum, only in this way will we obtain the forgiveness we long for, only so we will avoid returning to the construction site of the Ba 'tak from which we have been away for so little time, that we still seem to hear his! " he completed Jah'makor looking at the wall and its decorations.

"I agree with you, I think this is the proof that Khnum wants us to face to return worthy of the trust of the Gods, we knew from the beginning that it would not be easy, nor simple to get that forgiveness that we long for ... well we will eliminate this potential too monster and we will carry out the mission assigned from the beginning, this planet will see us winners and redeemed at the same time my friends! " Jandir in turn concluded while Fa'ran did not reply, merely observing his companions and the scene.

"But now I think we should find this being, if it's really so big, I do not think our daggers, or the ma'tok auctions and other weapons in our possession will be enough, we should act cunning and take it by surprise, once I think that we could find a way to deactivate this energy field that generates the storm around the mountain massif! " Jah'makor added again, looking at his companions, worried about what awaited him.

"Let's go then!" he added, interposing his silence, Fa'ran, showing the great door that came into the mountain's hubbubs before them. although worried about the unknown, the jaffas entered without hesitation in the dark door. The darkness was almost total, barely the three jaffas could see at the end of the corridor they were walking. a light breeze, then a light first in the distance, then closer and closer.

Western mountains, temple of the Gods

The light became ever closer as they proceeded towards the end of the pitch-dark corridor. The light gradually became more and more dazzling until they were forced first to cover their eyes and then open their Horus helmets to avoid damage. in their sight. Moreover, with those helmets they were able to observe both in absolute light and in the thickest and most intense darkness. slowly the three jaffas entered a large chamber where on either side twelve rows (six on each side) of life-size statues depicting archaic jaffa warriors, armed with the ma'tok rod, the latter real and fiuncing, a shield that none of those present had ever seen one in all their years of life, and an armor more like Assyrian armor. Their leaders were covered with helmets representing a demonic face identical to that of Humbaba. The jaffas watched them for a few minutes, remaining not only dazzled despite the protection of the helmet Horus, but especially fascinated. This was probably all that remained of a God and his armies, a group of statues in stone or terracotta, none of them could understand the material with which each piece was made. only the weapons were original, although covered with dust for millennia.

"The army of Humbaba, perhaps its last bodyguard, reproduced as a defense to his tomb, if indeed the western mountain is his burial, then we find ourselves in front of a grave and we should expect potential dangers that we had not counted to have to overcome! " said the wisest of the three jaffas, Jah'Makor, looking at the statues without taking a single step forward.

"There will be deadly traps like in many sepulchres goa'uld, we do not know what entity, but surely veins will also be here, so we will not separate at least that it is not necessary and we will proceed with more circumspection, I do not want to leave this world for an error or a foot laid where I did not have to! " Jandir added, trying to dilute the nervousness that was taking possession of each of them. None of them knew what to expect from that place, but they knew they would have to pass tests. Silence screamed in the chamber, whose walls were covered with bas-reliefs decorated in the Babylonian style. The three jaffas did not move almost petrified. The floor had initially not attracted their attention, only after all three had realized that in the center of each hexagonal slab, there was a golden medallion depicting Humbaba smiling.

"Whatever we do, we do not have to touch the central medallions in each plate, I have no idea what to expect!" Jah'makor added again to his companions, who were frozen by those words.

"All we need is that we go to get more problems than we already have right now!" he added, in turn, repeating Fa'ran, who had remained silent until then, amazed by the great statues. Not without difficulty Jah'makor approached the wall to observe it better. The bas-reliefs were in Babylonian style, the cuneiform writing, he could not read it, only the priests of Humbaba could do this, or perhaps even some tau'rì, as had happened for the tomb of Marduk a decade before.

"Can you understand what is written there?" Jandir asked his companion intent on observing the bas-reliefs on the wall, but Jah'makor shook his head back from his companion, taking care not to touch any medallion on the floor. Slowly the three jaffas passed through the room, not without a certain slowness, passing by the statues. The first to finish the route was Jandir, followed by Fa'ran and only last by Jah'makor. On the other side, however, Fa'ran touched one of the medallions with his heel and what the three jaffas saw, he left them speechless. The statues moved, revolving and unsheathing not only the matok temples, but knives and shikra sabers in a deadly dance. None of the statues struck the other, but the blows looked like a hurricane in every direction, including their own. the three jaffas dodged two strokes of the ma'tok rod and a shot of the shikra blade until the statues stopped. the three jaffas looked at each other in disbelief.

"A trap and also well crafted, the only final medallion was hidden!" Fa'ran said, looking at the button that had put the whole trap in place.

"I do not think this is the only trap that awaits us, we have to pay even more attention than we owe, if Humbaba is buried here and has something that the tok'ra want, then it will be even more difficult to reach the end of the tomb!" Jandir added, looking at his companions.

"I fully agree, more attention!" Jah'makor in turn replied to the comrades around him. The group saw a new room, this time long but instead of being illuminated by the blinding light like the first, the statues seemed to be in gilded bronze.

"Another trap I guess, we do not have to ..." but his words died when the hall shook and the three jaffas were thrown for their luck back. With a dull sound, the walkway closed like a mousetrap.

Western mountains, temple of the Gods

"The umpteenth trap .... more and more fantastic, we must have touched the trigger to make it jump, better still that it happened at least we know what happens in this nice trap for intruders!" Fa'ran completed with obvious irony looking at his companions almost amused for what had just passed. The faces of those present dripped a trickle of sweat before they again had the courage to pass. But just before passing, Fa'ran himself had an idea to prevent the trap from inadvertently clicking again. The ma'tok auction touched the floor at a safe distance in search of the spot it had triggered. It did not take long to find the exact point and again the trap closed in a screech because of the poorly oiled mechanism and now corroded in the centuries and millennia since it was probably positioned by Marduk or Humbaba himself.

"With a little patience as you can see everything is found, I must admit that these architects, however, have created a truly lethal place, it is clear that they did not want Humbaba even in the eventuality was still alive, could escape from this mountain!" completed Fa'ran watching his companions begin to walk in the parts where there was no danger of triggering the lethal trap.

The group slowly passed the long line of warriors and came to a new dark door, identical to the previous one where a tunnel descended with a rather noteworthy slope. Steps descended with an ever-increasing lift as Fa'ran himself immediately noticed.

"Truly worthy of a God this place of burial, but I do not understand, the dead gods should be buried on the planet Necropilis, not on minority planets, Necropolis owns a lot of space still available, why build a mausoleum inside this mountain massif?" Jandir wondered, without turning to his companions, but still referring to them. A few moments of silence passed before Jah'makor replied.

"Evidently those who built this complex, wanted to make sure that Humbaba was really dead and could not return, but not only any marauders, they would have found certain death if they had not yet had our foresight, however for now we have not seen any sign Akar Duau Sef, probably he has not yet managed to get in, or even worse, is stuck later, however soon we'll know ... the gaeria ends with a light! " completed the jaffà seeing the end of the downward corridor appear. The three jaffes reappeared in a new room, but this time there were no soldiers deployed.

Western mountains, Humbaba tomb

The room, unlike the other two, was completely empty, on the walls there were Babylonian-style masks depicting Humbaba, while in the center of the room there was a deep well. The three jaffas stood still on the door knowing that the appearance of tranquility certainly hid a deadly trap for anyone who had ventured without paying due attention.

"There does not seem to be any trap and yet not only sure, the floor has a numbering as you see, there is an inscription archaic goa'uld on the wall before us, says something but my archaic goa'uld is very bad, none of you I guess you know him better than me? "Jah'makor asked, looking at his companions. Jandir strangely smiled and replied in turn.

"Many of Apophis' outposts were so old that I often encountered this ancient goa'uld dialect, according to what the inscription says ..." he was about to continue when Akar Dua Sef appeared in the middle of the room from nothing.

"When the situation can not only improve, more and more fantastic!" Jandir thought to himself as he saw the ashrak rise before them. The goa'uld watched them for a moment before addressing those present directly.

"Asgard transport is not always reliable, I was hoping not to be transported inside one of the Humbaba traps but apparently I will have to avoid it personally, tell me so much has been your daring, to come up to here, I have the impression that this last part we should complete it together or none of us will come out alive! " Akar Duau Sef concluded, looking at those present, smiling maliciously. To reply to his words was Jah'makor as was customary having become without direct order, the leader of the jaffa group.

"In fact neither side is given another option, but believe it goa'uld, after this episode one of us will take your head!" he completed looking with evident challenge encouraged by his comrades Fa'ran and Jandir. The goa'uld smiled malignantly before replying in turn.

"Vile traitors until the last moment, but do not worry, because it will be your head that will roll as soon as possible, certainly not mine, it is a miracle that you have managed to reach up to here safe and sound, but from what I know you no longer have a Semerkhet, so one of you will sacrifice, will you be Jah'makor? " he asked, looking with obvious amusement at the enemy jaffa before the latter replied in turn.

"We are aware of it, but do not believe that we would not be able to leave these places together, all three, as we have arrived, so we will leave, no one will be left behind, no one will be sacrificed!" replied the jaffa with evident challenge. Akar Dua Sef smiled, anticipating the moment of the departure of one of the jaffas.

"Now just talk, the writing on the lintel of the door says clearly, that death will come to those who dare to awaken from the grave the monster Humbaba, this place was designed to keep this creature blocked, as well as all the western mountains, other does not say ! " he completed Jandir trying to temper the nervousness of the situation.

"Humbaba ... I just remember this name from the memories of my mother who gave me, if indeed there is the body of Humbaba, I believe that the Tok'ra are in comparison with a secondary threat, this being can sweep away all life from galaxy, but not only for its size, but for what he brings with it, was conceived by Nergal ... that on Earth was known as the God of pestilence ... this means that he is actually a biological weapon lethal devised by the same Nergal on the order of Marduk, to exterminate the ruling class goa'uld and replace it with its own! " concluded the goa'ud by flaming his eyes without moving a single muscle.

"As we pass this hall, you can not see what numbers on the floor, what will be the boxes to pass safely, surely the wrong boxes will blow the trap or the traps of this room!" Fa'ran added, worried about how to get to the other side of the stone room.

"The numbers are repeated in a sequence ..." but the words faded when a arrow darted close to his face.

Western mountains, Humbaba tomb

Fortunately, the arrow seemed to center its face, but it stuck completely into the ma'tok shaft, preventing Fa'ran from being hit in the face. Silence descended into the hall while those present understood the danger and what was the trap.

"Apparently it is a storm of arrows, probably poisoned because those who wanted to keep the tomb of Humbaba sealed and inviolate, would not have allowed anyway any survival for those who had managed to overcome the first rooms, so given the situation and the order, we will continue to little attempts, a numerical sequence is .. then we will identify this initiatory path! " Fa'ran concluded looking at the comrades who were astonished by the coldness displayed by the jaffa before an imminent danger of death as it had just happened.

"This number was odd, now take off that I'll try a safe distance, touch an even number!" he added, moving sideways with great caution.

The jaffa barely touched the tile with the even number, but a second arrow darted in front of his face leaving those concerned really worried about how they could overcome that room. At the center Akar Duau Sef watched them amused and very still. He could have transported to safety, but he wanted to witness the desperate death of three traitors before his eyes. This is why he did not say anything, merely observing the scene that presented itself before him.

"You're having fun Ash'rak, you could come and pick us up one by one and take us across the hall in complete safety instead of wasting time and patience!" exclaimed nervously Jandir looking at the goa'uld maliciously smiling at those words.

"Transportation asgard ... true, but because I can not finally see the death of three traitors, I'm waiting to see your three heads definitely rolling, I almost look forward to seeing you all three dead, and with you all the traitors of the Ba'tak shipyard! " Akar Duau Sef replied to those words of Jandir himself. Silence descended again into the hall as Fa'ran watched the floor without finding a solution to how to pass unharmed the trap that probably protected the tomb of Humbaba.

"Please be quiet, I can not concentrate if you continue to annoy me with your reproach!" added the jaffa to those present who immediately made silence. After all, Fa'ran was right, he did not help this continuous insulting.

Western  Mountains , Humbaba  tomb

The trap was before them, but nobody knew how to overtake it at least until Jandir himself decided to do something stupid and heroic at the same time. Leaving his load on the ground, he pushed his companions aside and went back into the corridor. In the beginning no one had understood what he intended to do, yet it was extremely clear. The jaffa disappeared in the darkness of the corridor, its steps echoed throughout the corridor, then the silence. A moment then the running noise faster and faster, the two jaffas understood looking for a moment before stepping aside. From the corridor Jandir reappeared, making a huge leap forward. The massive jaffa fell on the ground, but not in a vague point, in the large flat which was Akar Duau Sef. The latter had been taken aback, but even faster was the jaffa, tearing the asgard transport device from the ashrak. The look of surprise and terror enveloped Akar Duau Sef.

"Goodbye Akar Dua Sef!" exclaimed Jandir, kicking a powerful kick to the abdomen of the distant Iraq.

The trap was activated immediately and dozens of darts hit the ashrak by piercing it or stopping on its body. Dozens of arrows stuck everywhere, killing him quickly. A gasp only and the goa'uld breathed his last breath of life.

"Now I come to get you!" At that point Jandir exclaimed, disappearing in a halo of light and then reappearing beside A Jah'makor. The two jaffa comrades were speechless for the lightning action of Jandir. He had seriously risked being killed in turn if he had not fallen in the exact spot, but what mattered was that their partner had the transport device asgard just the Gods.

"Let's go mates, the tomb of Humbaba is waiting for us and now I'm getting fed up of being inside this sepulcher of which we never see the end, it seems that for every step we take, we make two back!" Jandir said taking his mates under his arm and reactivating the asgard transport once the coordinates of reappearance were in place. The group reappeared on the other side of the room in a few moments.

"We would have serious problems with the death of Akar Dua Sef, his departure will give us back to the Ba'tak shipyard!" Jah'makor replied in turn, looking at his companions, but Jandir was the one to reply.

"Calm down, Akar dua Sef wanted us dead, he died during the action and we were not able to avoid him, we serve Khnum, do not you remember him, we have no obligations towards him!" Jandir concluded, looking at his companions, who remained silent in turn.

"We carry out this mission!" Fa'ran exclaimed in turn, recovering the security that had distinguished him until then. The group walked towards the umpteenth corridor, but the latter as well as going down bent firmly to the left. walls poured putrid water and a smell of corpse enveloped those present when they entered the nth room, but the latter was the final one. Located in the center of the room, a large stone sarcophagus probably enclosed the one in gold that contained the body of Humbaba. In the middle, however, something attracted them. It was a pointed object, placed on a pedestal in stone and gold.

"I can not believe it, one of the arrows of Sekhmet, I thought they were a legend and nothing more, so those rumors were true, now I understand why not only Khnum sent us on a mission, but also other antagonists have done it!" Fa'ran added, looking at the object shining above its base.

"The arrows of Sekhmet, what is it?" Jah'makor asked in turn, looking at the object and then the companions. It took a moment for Fa'ran to speak again explaining what it really was.

"The arrow of Sekhmet is part of a device that can wipe out every enemy, a superweapon as powerful as that used by Anubis aboard his flagship, could wipe out the tau'rì and any threat to the power goa'uld, was created from Sekhmet and when the latter was defeated and removed from his guest, he was disassembled and divided between System Lord's and some of the minor Gods, apparently Humbaba was one of these minor Gods who received a piece of the aforementioned weapon! " He completed Fa'ran looking at those present while Jah'makor replied in turn.

"So the tok'ra is a lie?" but his words broke when a stroke of zat's hit him full.

Western mountains, Humbaba  Tomb

The jaffas stood firmly on their positions until they took a step forward and saw that an artificial basin as dark as night and without reflective capacity was before them. Immediately Jah'makor took out his goa'uld scanning device and placed it near the liquid waiting for the device to scan the entire contents of the room. It did not take long then. A hologram from the device opened vertically showing data to the jaffa.

"Apparently it is an acidic liquid, perhaps those acids used for the torture of the former dynasty prisoners or tok'ra from the goa'uld, but it seems that the whole room is contaminated with a powerful poison so I am 'idea to close our helmets, in this way will protect us more effectively! " completed the jaffa looking at the companions nodding. In a few moments the three helmets Horus closed on their leaders.

The three jaffas, however, remained still, the device was still analyzing the rest of the room, so all three knew that they would have distorted the analysis if they had moved. Again the survey was completed as far as the sarcophagus and the walls themselves were concerned, and what the analysis showed, left those concerned worrying.

"According to the sensors of the device, the entire room is immersed in the poisonous substance, not just the sewage, also it seems that the sarcophagus has a double hermetic closure with containment chains, a sign that something worse was buried with Humbaba ... something particularly lethal that would have guaranteed an eternal pain to the same goa'uld imprisoned! " Jah'makor concluded while Fa'ran was added.

"How did Marduk mean to say?" the jaffa asked his companion, looking at him for a moment before looking back at the sarcophagus before them.

"I really believe there is a creature similar to that which the priests of Marduk placed inside the sarcophagus of their God, after all it would not be a strange thing, that reign of terror has led those who lived there to take flimsy or particularly ferocious actions given the degree of danger and terror caused by Marduk and his bloody vision of the kingdom! " he definitively concluded Jah'makor. looking at his companions now more undecided than ever.

"So what we do now, tok'ra there is no trace at least that Humbaba is not the tok'ra in question, but this I think is not our case, we know well the policy of tok'ra about the use of sarcophagi, therefore we are definitely doing the dirty work for their agent, in which case the recovery would lead us to track down the infiltrated spy, his capture would at least restore the three of us definitively in the eyes of Lord Khnum! " Jandir concluded, looking at his perplexed comrades.
