Noah checked his watch and smirked, Man. She is taking awhile. What's she doing?"

Staring at the gate, he found himself almost nodding off as he yawned. Maybe after this, I'll be able to change shift. This is the longest one yet...

Turning to the knock, Noah mumbled watching Emily approach, "Huh," then just as the gate started moving, he gasped looking at that thing and muttered, "Whoa, umm."

The technician sighed pressing the comm to receive the hail as the gate activated, "Hang on a min, Em."

Clearing his throat, Noah delivered his reply with professionalism to whoever was on the other line, "Sierra Gulf Seven Actual, the Alpha Site receives you. I will get the commanding officer on the horn shortly."

When Noah pressed the radio on silent, he mentally facepalmed after realizing that he had pronounced the term Golf wrong. Exhaling a breath, he toggled his radio to contact his CO, "Major. We have another gate activation. It's Sierra Golf Seven Actual with an important mission update. They would like a word, ma'am."

With the radio off, Noah exhaled and looked at Emily. He responded, "Hi." His mind processed a few moments. He had a very small window between here and then when the Major comes in. Finding the words, he added, "There is a, umm, an event going on. A wedding. I was thinking. I mean, I wanted to ask if you wanted to be my escort to it."

"Hey look, I don't tell you how to do your job, so next time, don't go telling me how to do mine. We're standing by."

Aurore was already walking into the room, holding a mug of coffee in a thermos with one of her squadron insignias on it.

"I'm right here, Petty Officer. And I know there are those who are pedantic over NATO phonetic pronunciations, let's just classify Captain Coffin as someone who isn't and not try to correct him. Both are equally valid." Aurore explained as she took over the call.

"Captain, this is Major Berge. Go ahead with your report." She said.

"Major. We're currently on the world P4H-51Y, following up a lead from P6G-12M on our mission with SG-1 and SG-12. We're going to need a proper survey team sent over but, well, we've found a mine that has the raw materials needed for making a ZPM. Zulu Papa Mike, a Zero Point Module. More than one, no idea how many but a lot." Came back from Coffin.

That got Aurore to blink. ZPMs were worth more than their weight in any precious metal, and were always so hard to find. Raiding Ancient sites was the common but also dangerous method, but this...

"...mon dieu." She breathed.

"Understood, Captain. I have to say, I do believe that what you have found will be of significant interest to a lot of people. Well done to you and your team." Aurore replied, a small smile crossing her lips. This was a most welcome distraction to be sure...

"The area is secure for the time being, but with your permission, I'd like to call the SGC and let them know. They should probably scramble a team. But we figured you'd like the bragging rights knowing it was an Alpha Site team that made this discovery."

That got a small laugh from her.

"I appreciate it, Captain. Permission granted, contact the SGC. And tell your team they did an outstanding job today. This is one for the history books." Aurore replied.

"Roger that. Also, a personal request, but can we find out how to get my team hooked up with a nice steak dinner for this? Not sure where to go back there, not sure if you'd rather just cut us loose back on Earth or what."

"Captain, for this find, I'll cook it myself. But we'll see what we can find when you return. Do you have an ETA for that, by the way?" Aurore said, the smile growing in amusement.

"Negative on that ETA. Still need to find out what SG-1 and SG-12 found. We planned for a few days, but we'll see. Nothing else to report."

"Then good luck, Captain, but I think SG-7 has that in spades. Alpha Site out."

The gate then closed as the connection was ended on the dialing side. Aurore took another sip of coffee.

"A mine to make ZPMs...bet that wasn't easy to get into, knowing the Ancients. Maybe I will cook their dinner after all." She mused to herself with a chuckle.

Things were getting crowded, the room wasn't exactly small but when there was important issues going on in the Control Room its the one place you didn't need to be when you're off duty unless you were called in. "Hey it's okay, I heard and I'll go with you Noah. Now I'd better get going..." Em caught the XO's eye, they hadn't met though she had heard of her earlier this morning. "Major, Sub Lieutenant Harris MD. I'll get out of your hair now, although can I say that does sound exciting and if you want to take the team somewhere, Judy's Pub in Foreston is the go to place. Best food in any galaxy, well outside of Earth anyway." She backed away a little. "How long have I got to get ready Noah?"

As things unfolded in the Control Room a new face appeared in freshly cleaned and pressed Navy Cams. The tall young dark skinned woman stood at attention the moment she saw Aurore in there; being a brand spanking new recruit to the Stargate Program, Sharon didn't want to put a foot wrong. "Excuse me ma'am." She addressed the Major, giving Emily a nod not knowing who she was in the least. "Petty Officer second class Belefonte, I've been assigned to take over the second watch on the Control Room...I er, I'm sorry for interrupting, this is my first posting you see. My group only competed our training yesterday morning for the Stargate Program." Her focus would be primarily as gate tech, since it much aligned with her Navy rating in Electronic Warfare. Her secondary job would be upstairs in the main planetary defense combat control room. Just to be sure she gave the senior tech, Noah a polite nod of the head as well.

"Major Aurore Berge, Lieutenant." Aurore said, nodding once, "Petty Officer Israel, you're dismissed. Thank you." She said to Noah.

"Petty Officer Belefonte. Welcome, I'm Major Aurore Berge, deputy commander for the Alpha Site. For the moment, I do suspect things will be all quiet. SG-7 is not due back for a few days, they're on an extended exploration mission with SG-1 and SG-12." She checked her notepad, a habit as a pilot was keeping a small notepad in one of the pockets on her flight suit, "Oh. As a notice, the gate is not to be used for personal back and forth traffic. Evidently Admiral McRaven is already not happy about something regarding this. I don't know, just passing it along. If a matter cannot be dealt with in a timely fashion over comms, someone needs to gate to the location to deal with it in person. Especially if it's SGC to Alpha Site or vice versa, it seems. Which makes sense, we're the primary fallback point and I don't think the Gamma Site is up yet."

As far as Aurore knew, however, the threat board was clear. There was supposedly some stuff on Earth and elsewhere but nothing of major priority. And that was a good thing, given the fact that she came here during a world war...

There are those days when it really pays to speak more clearly. Em shrugged, maybe the Major heard her or not, it didn't matter to her either way as she was only trying to help. "Call me on the radio when you need me Noah, I'll go get changed. Major." She nodded smartly then left in no great hurry.

 @DanielRyder

"Thank you ma'am, although I could use just a little excitement in my day. I expect that the wait won't be long according to our instructors; he said most often the Alpha site was pretty much full on." Sharon absorbed the information. For her part in the least she didn't think anything private was worthy of using the gate no matter who you were. Send an email, that was her way. "I'll bear that in mind Major, though I can assure you it won't happen on my watch." Most unlikely indeed.

Seeing that he was dismissed, Noah briefly excused himself along with Em. It got a bit hectic for him in there that Noah got distracted by so many things at once. Emily did say she was a call away via radio, so the man had a plan to do just that. For now, he just decided that a small, brief walk around the Alpha Site before headed to his room for a quick change would put himself in a better mood. A good mood.

October 4, 2011

It was an ordinary day for the Alpha Site, with SG-7 departing at 0700 for a routine sweep of a known but infrequently visited site. At 1145, SG-7 returned without much to report, the locals were fine and no one had seen anything of Ba'al. Five minutes later on the dot, another call came in - SG-19 had an injury and needed to get medical attention.

Medical personnel were requested, and Brian, being a Combat Rescue Officer, volunteered to help. The Stargate opened, but at the same time, what seemed to be a group of SFs stormed into the control room with non-standard M4s, customized with integrally suppressed barrels. All of the SFs had facewraps covering the lower parts of their faces. One of the normal control room SFs pulled his M9, only to take a pair rounds to the head.

"EVERYONE, PUT YOUR HANDS UP RIGHT NOW. IF ANYONE TOUCHES A THING, YOU DIE!" One of them barked. Sure enough, one of the techs reached for the lockdown button, only to get shot half a dozen times from two sources. Another tried to pull his sidearm, and he was also shot. Everyone else complied.

"Now, you will stand up, with your hands behind your head, fingers linked together. If you fight, you die." The same one said. Again, someone resisted when the impostors attempted to affix zip cuffs to their wrists. Yet another body was added to the count.

As the personnel in the control room were moved out with their hands zip-cuffed, one man set up his laptop and went to work. Every access corridor in and out of the Gate Room was sealed, comms were cut, and a system-wide lockout went into effect for the computers.

In the gateroom, another group stormed in, gunning down the SFs guarding the room. Brian drew his sidearm, an FN Five-Seven.

"Down! Everyone down!" Brian shouted as he started to draw a bead. But SG-19 came through the Stargate, armed with AR-57s, hybrids between the M4 and P90. One immediately put the barrel to the back of Brian's head.

"Drop it, boy scout." The voice demanded sharply. No matter what the Air Force trained him to do, no matter what he'd learned in the field in Afghanistan, there was not a thing he could do with a loaded rifle at the back of his head with a user intending to blow his head off.

Transferring the pistol into his off-hand in a non-threatening manner, he held it up. One of the fake SFs came up and took it from him.

"Alright, you know how to listen. Smart. Lose the plate carrier." The man pretending like he was a member of SG-19 demanded as the control room staff were herded in. Brian nodded and undid the snaps, he removed the vest slowly, setting it at his feet.

Another man stepped forward, an older one with black hair. When he spoke, it wasn't with an American accent, it was French.

"Who are you?" The man asked.

"Major Brian Coffin, SG-7 Team Leader." Brian replied.

"You came with the medics. Why?"

"I'm a Combat Rescue Officer." Brian replied.

"Air Force Special Forces combat medic." The other man pointed out.

"Very well, Major. You have thirty seconds. I want you to make a determination of the state of health of the personnel here. How many were killed?" The man asked one of the fake SFs.

"Four." The man replied instantly. Brian was pushed over to look over the hostages. He quickly looked everyone over in the time alotted. He was pulled away with a pistol put to his head. The fake SG-19 was right on his heels.

"Report."

"All ingress points to this level are sealed. Comms are offline, and they have no access to their systems as of right now. Security feeds are now locked out and piped into here. Just finished with the air defense network, that's ours, and I'm ready to pull the trigger, sir." The man behind the laptop said.

"Good." The leader said, and picked up the phone, activating the base-wide PA system.

"Attention. Attention. My name is One. I am now in charge of this facility. I have twenty-two hostages in the Gate Room. You do not have access to this area any longer, nor do you have eyes or ears in here. If you are seen within five meters of any blast door, I will execute a hostage for every thirty seconds anyone is present. Your communications network is down, this includes phones, radios, and subspace communications. Your air defense network is now set to fire on any aircraft that approach this base or attempt to leave." The leader said clearly. He then handed Brian the phone.

"State who you are and the conditions of the hostages. If you deviate, I will kill three. Speak."

Brian took the phone, "This is Major Brian Coffin, SG-7. All hostages are currently medically healthy." Brian said. The phone was taken from him.

"It is currently seven minutes until the hour. The commander of this facility will be at their office phone in that time for my demands. If you do not, I will deem this a forfeit of the hostages lives." One said, and then hung up.

"Secure him to a chair. He will remain here. Select four hostages at random. Secure them up here as well." One said. Brian was forced into a chair, his arms zip-cuffed behind his back, his ankles bound around the center post of the office chair.

The fake SF behind the laptop then started dialing an address. Brian was turned away so he couldn't see it. More soldiers were brought through, well armed and well equipped men, about 30 in total. This, the fake SFs, and the fake SG-19, gave them more than enough troops to hold their ground.

Sitting on the hard concrete floor with her hands bound behind her back, Sharon looked at the fakes, she knew they were from the moment things went awry. Her eyes were afire, venom was on the tip of her tongue as she looked at her friends around her. She was placed next to Noah, she leaned nearer to him. "We have to find a way out of this. Got any ideas?" She asked him.

Having responded to the same call as Brian, Emily found herself propped against a box, her hands were fastened in front of her unlike the combat personnel. She figured that maybe these people might need her in a hurry for one of their own should anything arise. After one slap across the face, which still burned she was defiant as ever. "You know I don't think you people have thought this through very well." She said, leaving it at that.

Noah Israel, Alpha Site Gate Technician

Noah gasp softly looking around. His heart beat quickly that it almost crawled itself from his throat. He never handled hostage situations well. No matter how many times he trained in the SGC to handle himself in any hostage situation, this was always different than the other one. As his hands were bound, his butt started to hurt.

What was a normal day to Noah became a literal living nightmare as the fake SFs came in and he found himself forced on his butt against the concrete and then bound. Hence his butt hurting.

Listening to Sharon, Noah gasped softly and whispered, "I don't know. I don't see any way out. We should probably wait. But," Noah sighed closing his eyes. His heart still tried to jump its way out. Opening them and remaining low, he indicated behind him. There was a small vent accessway out they could probably use to make their way out. It was small, but big enough for a small person without gear to crawl through to get help.

He whispered softly, "Maybe we could use that. Maybe not. Best wait for help."

Looking over her shoulder, Noah looked for Emily and wondered if she was alright. He was more concerned for her, but hopeful that she knows what she's doing. At a time like this when someone is afraid, that person would either hide away in the shadows or do something stupid like getting in the way of a gunfire for someone else to escape harm. Noah truely didn't know what to do in this situation.

{OPFOR}

After a moment, Noah and Sharon were hauled to their feet and stood up in front of the rest of the hostages. So was Emily after her comment.

"You two thinking of escaping? Well, since you think you're gonna risk lives and you think you're holding the cards, let's try something else."

Rifle barrels were jammed up against their heads as their cuffs were cut and rearranged. Each one was then handed a live grenade, and the pins were pulled from them. Only the safety spoon was keeping them from going off, which the three of them now had to hold in place.

"Now you three have something to focus on instead. You get cute, you're gonna kill everyone in here, not us." The fake SF leader said, and then had them scattered among the hostages. If they let go, even to throw it, friendlies were going to catch shrapnel. Gate techs or medics. Or both. Assuming they weren't just shot dead from four angles and dropped the grenade in the middle of the group. At that point, the others holding their grenades would be killed, and set off those in sequence...

"None of you are smarter than us. Get it through your heads right now. You're not Bruce Willis and this isn't Die Hard. The next one of you who tries cooking up a plan, I'm gonna handcuff you in front of the Stargate and dial for more reinforcements." One of the fakes from SG-19 shouted. The new arrivals moved on out of the Gate Room as soon as they formed into squads.

"The cavalry isn't coming to save you, and we're not a bunch of backwards Goa'uld or whatever other morons you people have wasted your time on. Me? Hell, I'm ex Marine Special Forces. I know this playbook. So get cute, I dare you. I'll shoot you in the gut and leave you to die in a pool of your own feces and blood." The fake SG-19 soldier continued.

In the control room, work continued. The leader was watching security footage on another monitor, before turning to the man on the laptop.

"Activate the Phalanx batteries. Fire on the hangars, destroy as many craft as you can. And seal the surface access points." The leader said, before grabbing the PA.

"Colonel, I don't think you understood me. I am in command here, not you. Your pilots and aircrew will suffer for your arrogance." He said into the PA before hanging up.

"This isn't..." Brian didn't get far in his statement before he got pistol whipped by the leader.

"Spinning them up now. Locking down base entry and exit points. Bishop and Rook are ready to move, shall I start cycling doors?" The tech asked.

"Yes." The leader nodded, before grabbing a fist full of Brian's hair and jamming the pistol into his jaw.

"Speak without being asked to again, Major, and I will disembowel you. You are my mouthpiece, nothing more. Get used to being helpless, American." He snarled before shoving away from Brian.
