Blackwood turned to Larrin. "I believe Mr. Tucker has organised the food, it will take some time to prepare. As for your recently opened mind, I take it the Okinawa has left an impression." How would Larrin respond? This would give an insight into her thoughtprocess, how she evaluated Ingrid and the ship. How big of a threat she might be in the future. Col. Dixon seemed to to have the best rappor with the traveller so he would do the main part of the negotiation. He would just have to be informed of new task.

Dave was right there, hands crossed behind his back as he waited to see what was about to unfold and ready to spring in and break up any fight, physical or verbal, before things went south here. There was already a bit of tension on the bridge, too. That was not boding well for him, but he'd keep his peace until needed.

Straightening up as if he were on the parade ground (the man was always feeling a little anxious when he was outnumbered by the brass) Tucker took one step forward. "Yes ma'am. We have meals ready to go packed in heated and chilled stores crates. The Chief Chef and Major Itō have been very helpful, the Major asking me to let you know that he has organised a decent dinner for ya'all in the Wardroom as soon as you're ready."

Finding a place to stand comfortably where she could see everyone, Larrin was at that point now she felt it was possible to relax now that the initial anxious moments had passed. "Thank you Captain, Mr Tucker, I will ensure my crew will know the efforts you and your people have put in." Her gaze fell on each member of the bridge crew one by one before she spoke again. "Something struck me as the Colonel and Major escorted me here from your hangar bays. The professionalism of your crew was the first thing that stood out. No one stared our went out of their way to overly notice my presence, if anything a polite nod of the head then they went about their duties. Then there is the actual structure of your ship, unlike our own where we have not really put our own stamp on them, merely being like children and copying what was given from our elders, in this case the first Ancient ships we found; whereas you made this ship yours and I know from what Sheppard has told me your initial technology was borrowed from several races, no one would ever know it when they saw what I have. Lastly, despite our earlier misgivings, the way you conduct yourselves under pressure is to be admired. We can learn a lot from you and I am sure the benefit will be mutual." There were a few other curious matters she wanted to learn, that would come in time.

She remembered as well the lecture she gave about manners, she was forgetting them herself. A quick turn of the head to Mesa and Dave. "I don't think I could have had a better escort, thank you both."

Mesa took a step back.  Apparently Larrin had introduced herself.  That was fine.  For the moment her job was done.  It sounded like Tucker had outdone himself.  She gave herself a mental shake when her thoughts went back to him in a nice fitting pair of jeans and boots.  Sheesh, she needed some rest and a good slap upside the head.  She quickly turned back into what was being said.

"We make the ships accourding to our needs, we set out what the ships role is and then design the ship to best fill that role. Now, i believe that should the Vanir threat be successfully contained and eliminated, something of a more permanent alliance could come about. Such an alliance would likely involve further military and diplomatic cooperation. So it would become likely that in the future your people can learn from us and us from you."
Hopefully Larrin would be convinced by this effort to be diplomatic by Blackwood.

Making more than sure she hadn't missed anything Larrin turned left then right with her eyes taking in the anxious faces of the ship's bridge crew. She liked what she saw, for the most part they had the look of professionals. Now it was down to business. "I can see that Commander and I commend you and your people on the excellent job you've done. We can indeed learn from one another and in time we will press that forward." At last the woman was finding a means to relax somewhat, especially the mention of an alliance, one she hoped this time could be far more permanent.

"You make a valid point. From what we've seen these Vanir move in massed formations only breaking off into smaller units when they go on the offensive to destroy a world. Because of the sheer size and complexity of their fleets, they do not move swiftly until you encounter one, two or five ships at the most. For this alliance to work, we'll need to speak with your commanders back on Atlantis and any of your other allies as well, I'm going to kill myself later for saying this, that will need to include the Wraith."

"Agreed, we will need for your vessel to remain here to keep an eye on the area, Mr. Tucker can organise any additional food you may need. On Atlantis we can start with higher level negotiations aswell as contact the wraith."  So far Larrin seemed agreeable enough, hopefully this would mean that an alliance would be set up. This seemed to be the optimal way to get a suit of Vanir power armor.

Larrin rubbed her chin for all of a second. She had some good sub commanders and she saw this as an opportunity for any one of them to come to the fore. "I was going to suggest that in fact I couldn't think of a more fitting gesture than for me to see John Sheppard again as we teeter on the brink of war. I'll make the arrangements immediately and I know my crew will be more than grateful for your assistance. I should point out that one of the reasons we have come up so short on supplies is because two of our supply ships have been destroyed recently... for that we will make them pay dearly."

"Larrin, get in touch with your people, set up what you need to. Helm plot a course for Atlantis, I want the ship ready to go ASAP. Ltn Stryker, update on the Vanir!" Blackwood still had no further info on the Vanir, this was unacceptable. The Vanir presented a significant threat to all other powers in Pegasus. Some recreational torture, sure, why not. Genocide, that was going a bit too far. Good thing she didnt let others know her opinions on the subject. She had managed to pass the screening process somehow by mirroring what the official carrying out the screening said and asked. Others most likely knew something was off about her but didnt know exactly what.

"Yes, ma'am," the Okinawa's navigator replied with a nod before focusing on the task on hand. A small, random noise esaped his mouth as his thought process sped up a bit, uhhh...hmm. Looking over the data he had displayed on the tablet, Ben responded, "I'll update you on the Vanir soon as I have gathered all the data, captain."

During the time he had experienced on the bridge, it was nice to meet Larrin on the bridge. Not yet face to face, of course, but Ben had heard of Sheppard's exploits with the woman, the leader of the Traveler. He had hoped to meet her. Maybe invite her to dinner or two. See what stirs up between them. Maybe some music. On a different note, he could literally feel the tension between Larrin and Ingrid. It was going to be an interesting flight.

Clearing his throat, he refocused his attention on the display. With the tablet on hand, he studied the map and replied as Helm set the course toward the not-so-fabled Atlantis, "Next stop, Atlantis. Hitting the hyperspace in three, two, one..." Ben mumbled slightly after the countdown as the Okinawa entered hyperspace.

"All hands prepare for hyper space jump!" Tucker made the PA call loudly. He turned to Mesa first. "Major McCaffry, the ship is secured and we're locked down for travel." That was merely a formality, something traditional as on a space ship nothing needed to be locked down as it were. "ETA Atlantis, ninety minutes." He nodded to the Chief Steward as he entered, took the message then told the captain. "I can hold the fort Cap'n, the chefs have laid on a do for you and our guest in the wardroom, I guess given the table the Chief said was set, your bridge staff will be required to attend."

Just prior to the ship readying for departure, Larrin set things in motion on her ship. The much appreciated supplies were sent over while the Captain was informed that a meal was ready for her guest, herself and her senior staff in the Wardroom. "Your people appear to have a very traditional and formal way of doing things, I did not get that same feeling of hospitality from the ancient city. Is this something unique to ship board life?" She stood back watching how things were done, waiting for that shift in transition to hyper space; it was almost nothing when it came.

Mesa smiled and inclined her head.  "Thank you for the update," She said to Tucker.  At least for the moment nothing else needed to be done.  It seemed like Larrin was ready to talk and she wasn't holding anything against them.  So far so good.
