Lieutenant Jon Agathon

Missile Complex: North end

 Keeping his eyes on the path ahead, he drove on as he switched to another setting of the radio and spoke to Jordan, "Ma'a-," An explosion interupted him in mid sentence when she yelled at him to move away from the location.

Driving through dirt and flailing steel, Jon obeyed her command first and plowed through more explosions to get away from the explosion. He directed the vechile toward an unknown destination and spoke, rephrasing before he was interupted, "Commander. This is insane, honestly have you ever had more fun." The sarcasm was cutting, he knew his boss would get it though.

Keeping his hands on the wheel, he watched as the Clones were falling off one by one by his mate on the artilary and Jordan firing at them. Pushing the toggle, he increased speed a bit heading towards the Wraith position but to their rear.

<Missile complex valley North End>

 There were times when Jordan longed for the simplicity of fighting in the open, or hell even urban warfare. Dense forests, jungles and anything with a lot of cover in darkness or at best semi darkness just wasn't her thing really, it went back to her initial SEAL training where she was subjected to the most brutal training regime a man could imagine, let alone a woman who was essentially a desk intelligence officer prior to fulfilling some politician's agenda. She did though in the end prove them wrong. Sadly only one two other women since her had passed that same hell. Hanley being one of them. "Yeah fun Agathon. Remind me to impress upon you later on what my idea of real fun is."

 The vehicle shuddered one more time as they hit the trees, Jordan glanced over her shoulder up and behind the Chief to see a cloud of dust and debris spew into a vertical column, they had missed luckily yet if that whatever it was had hit them it certainly would have been show over. "Chief swing that gun around south east, level that area now!" That was the direction all their woes were coming from; it made he wonder just how many there were.

 At last some relief had come, not in the form of artillery as Rhiase had expected, but one of those human land vehicles with a heavy weapon attached. She had seen similar on other worlds and knew how dangerous they were. ~Sykes you should know me well enough~ Her thoughts were tinged with humor as she took down one last Clone before running to the aid that had come as they say just in time. "I wasn't expecting you, rather than something heavier from afar." She said to Jordan seeing the woman's head just above the commander's hatch.

 "It wasn't planned Rhiase believe me." For a moment their appeared calm, their oppressors appeared to have fallen back, it felt as if something larger was about to befall them, the quiet before the storm. "If you agree, I think we should pull back to the south end of the Valley, its probably more defensible from that end."

 The half Wraith nodded in agreement. "I concur." Then stopped to listen, there was a sound further north, a sound strange in her ears. "What is that woeful sound?"

 Jordan heard it, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Morgan, Agathon can you hear what I am hearing? Is that flaming bagpipes?" She took a chance to stand up, then gingerly with shaking legs she climbed out to join the Wraith. The smoke and mist was clearing further north and now they saw why the clones were withdrawing, no were being cut down like wheat. A massive motorized cavalry regiment was moving in with hundreds of infantry walking among them; even from here she could see they were a mix of the Libernan's and their human brethren and right out in front were pipers, pipers of all things. At least they weren't wearing kilts. Her corporal was close, he had survived it all. "You did well Valentine, you may see that third stripe soon." She told him in a semi official way.

 Within five minutes it was over. The battle for the missile complex ended with only the butcher's bill to be accounted for. Jordan found it hard to take her eyes away from the sight of it as the Libernan relief moved through the dead and wounded. With a tinge of sadness she called it in. "O'Neil to Dixon. Its over." As simple as that yet she knew this was only half of it.

<Bunker - Gate Room >

 She had her orders and so far they haven't been changed, she had the remotes, plural for all the traps that weren't automatically set off, each one numbered and each of those numbers relating to a position she had committed to memory. "Get behind that protective  wall then Doc, we're gonna have some fire works any minute now." Lou pointed to one of the steel structures they had put in place for last minute defence.

  She then saw the remaining defenders and Mako fall back, that was her signal. "Now!" she said to one of the Libernan's who had been standing by the huge blast door; he hit the control switch with the huge door rumbling down from above to lock in position. "Fire in the hole!" She yelled loudly, giving time for everyone to cover themselves, not she hoped they would need it where they stood. One by one she flipped the switches activating each blast all the way back up the tunnel, one by one an explosion was heard that created a mind numbing shock wave until the last that had been placed at the main entrance. Dust fell, covering everyone in a grey powder to look like ghostly apparitions of themselves. Then there was silence.

<Missile complex,valley:North end>
Cooper heard the orders and swiveled the weapon to the south-eastAye,A"ye Ma'am,,weapon to the south-east and were fully loaded..Cover your ears! The weapon belched fire and bullets with tracers in-between,firing at an astounding rate. The Chief thought he could get to like operating something heavier than his sniper rifle. The debris field from the bullets tore up both trees and clones,everything was inter-mixed and you could hardly tell the difference,unless you were 'on top' of the debris,except for the mangled bodies and all of the blood . The weapon was getting a bit hot from its firing,but,as Cooper looked out on the scene,he knew that it had done its work

<bunker gateroom>

Radek shot behind the steel wall as the mini bombs went off, he crouched down and covered his head, dust fell over them all and it grew silent, 'Guess they got some of them' Radek thought, but Radek wanted to check to see if Lou was alright, he poked his head out and pushed his glasses along his nose and saw he could not see out of them properly so he removed them and wiped them on the bottom of his blue top as he gazed around

"Lou?, Lou?"

He shouted as he squinted

"Are you ok?"

He put his glasses on and looked around, dust still floating in the sir, he waited for an answer, he hoped for an answer

 Something like this would help to make things go faster.

"O-Kin-Nah-Hwa, my drones and I are ready to be taken to the Vanir ship."  Sin hoped he wasn't interrupting something.  He also hoped that like these two, the humans would be friendly. "I will be there in a few moments aboard one of our shuttles, I assume either of your landing bays will be appropriate?"

He doubted the ship as safe.  At least is the humans were trigger-happy as he had expected the rest of the to be, they'd shot the Vanir first. "Will you two be willing to accompany me?" He asked Junot and Stryker.

<Bunker, Gate Room>

Michelle coughed and looked around to see who was left. The Marines, her SEALs, and only a few of the locals that she had started out with at least five times as many at the start of this whole fiasco. She could only imagine how badly the Vanir losses were, but if they had actually made a dent in the war effort or not would remain to be seen.

"Check weapons and ammo, and make sure you all don't have any missing limbs or extra holes." Michelle said. She'd have a few bruises and cuts to deal with, but nothing serious. No one would be forcing her to accept an oak leaf for her Purple Heart this time. She'd gotten an earful from her mother after coming home with that on her uniform, which between that and the stupid mistake that had generated it in the first place made her wish she had been more forceful in rejecting it.

Snapping back to the moment, however, Michelle noticed her plate carrier was a fair bit lighter, and the reason became clear. She'd started this with eight 30-round magazines for her 416, another five 20-round magazines for her Mk. 14 and five 15-round magazines for her P226R sidearm. Her primary magazine pouches were empty, the last of those was in her 416. She had one and a partial, plus whatever was in her Mk. 14, and the slide was locked back on her P226, indicating she'd used up 75 rounds of 9mm in that melee.

The situation was far from encouraging. The ammo situation wasn't great for anyone on her team. If the Vanir's strategy was to have more clones than their enemies had ammunition, it was skin crawlingly effective. Jamming her pistol into the drop holster on her right thigh, she looked to the good doctor and the Corporal from AR-2.

"Look, if that thing still spins, then make it spin. We're not getting out of here through the front door and our backs are quite literally to the wall here. Plus, we got more wounded than we have ammo. We either go directly to Atlantis or to the fallback point. Might be better to do Atlantis, I've got my IDC still." Michelle said after checking the weight of the magazine in her assault rifle. It was not as heavy as she would have liked, maybe 15 rounds remained in it.

Reinforcements were a welcome sight, and they were quick to get into position as needed. Artillery was well coordinated, coming down as needed. The Vanir's clone army was purely infantry, something the Goa'uld did too. It seemed no one bothered with tanks or anything else like Earth did. Dave often wondered if the Stargate had been big enough, would Earth have sent out the big stuff like the M1A2 Abrams?

The missiles rising into the sky, though, those made his skin crawl for just a moment. Such a sight to someone like him was the proverbial final seal, the harbinger of the end of days. On Earth, that would have meant that all sense of peace and sanity had left his people and they would soon endure a man-made apocalypse. But here, they were a weapon to turn on the Vanir that had not been expected. Some were shot down, blown up in mid-air, but others would find their targets. And do some serious damage with the naquadah enhanced warheads.

"Copy that, Commander. But we're still waiting on the cruiser in orbit to get knocked out. Until then, we can't write this up as a win. And we lost contact with all of our forces at the bunker complex, both local and our own. They were likely overrun and we can't get to them without the Okinawa or Wraith in a hurry." Dixon reported.

He'd hope that his Marines and that SEAL team got out in one piece, as well as the local troops who had been defending it. He knew there would be casualties, but he'd sent over a good chunk of the Okinawa's ground force contingent. Those were his men, his responsibility. They all knew the risks, same as him, but losing them would still be a gut punch. And that SEAL team, he'd heard they were some kind of new experiment for putting more Special Forces out there in space, and if they got wiped out, he'd bear that responsibility too.

But there was always hope.

<Bunker, Gate Room>

 A small dark head popped up from among the rubble and debris. Uninjured by the look of her and looking very much like the powdered Geisha she might have been had history placed her birth in another country. "I'm okay!" She stared around at everyone, they were seemingly alright to, making her feel quite chuffed with herself that the placement of the traps did what they were supposed to do to the enemy and not themselves.

 "Doc I'm over here!" She shouted to Radek. There was one small problem for the small soldier girl, she was okay and there was no pain, but she couldn't release her leg from whatever was holding it. Looking down Lou could see it was merely wedged in between some steel beams that had come loose from somewhere. As she was about to call out for help she saw one other teeny weeny issue. The cover of the DHD was smashed. While it might have been a big problem for the Libernans, for her and Radek they only had to link the device into their laptops and use a standard dialing software the SGC had developed for such an occasion. So there it was. A small predicament. "A little help please guys."

 Hearing his reply, the first thing Jordan thought of was a simple radio communication. It might well be that from his position, Dixon may be experiencing a black out. "Wait one Dave." She said in thought. Hopefully this will work. "Okinawa this is O'Neil, what is your current status in regard to the Vanir ships." That was really all she had to say, straight forward and to the point.

<Bunker Gate room>

Radek rubbed his hand thro his hair vigorously, dust emerged and fell around him and he coughed, he looked over at Lou and moved towards her

"Are you hurt?,   we need some help here guys"

He got on his knees and grunted as he tried to lift the beams and failed dismally, he looked at her as he wrung his hands together and rolled his eyes

"Ok, that will not work"

He watched as some of the soldiers came over to help

"I will leave you in their capable hands and will go dial Atlantis,  don't worry, you will be fine"

He gave her a smile and pushed himself back to an upright position, walking over to where he had put his tablet
