((OOC just a little recap for you both-

The main army of the Mountain Borg tribes was situated some 150 miles or so North by North East of the Alpha Site, through rugged mountain and semi tropical forests. The camp itself of the self appointed 'King of the Borg', or Chief as he was known to his followers, was situated in a hidden valley some 50 miles as the crow flies east of the coast. It was within this valley, the Hozgura had landed two ships some five months ago. A heavy cruiser, not of Goa'uld design, more physically in appearance to a Wraith Ship, only uglier. The second ship was an armed troop transport, large and capable of carrying some 8,000; that along with the Cruiser, thinking they could subdue these 'primitives', found themselves in a mile of trouble once they had disembarked. Within a few hours, the Borg had descended upon them, killed and taken captive the entire 10,000+ of the Hozgura and in the bargain lost their ships. Those ships and the arms and technology were a gift to the Borg, Now they were learning to use them; they had one small problem, how to fly the ships? ))

in other words, they aren't badly damaged at all :D

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Yarkú nodded in understanding. "Of course. Knowledge is the key to all effort. We have figured out this bit at least." He stepped forward and pressed a half circle key on the console, which lit up the bridge and caused computer screens to flicker into existance between empty space. Flynn would find that it was resistant as she pushed against it, and symbols could be manipulated, though the language was all in Hozguran.

From there, she could get to ship schematics and status, to find that the ship was in fact operational, though lightly damaged.

Flynn nodded a bit.  So far this new Borg hadn't been too bad.  At least he didn't seem out to kill her or anything.  The King had scared her and she was just now starting to calm down.  Her eyes lit up though as he pressed one of the buttons, seeing more screens light up.

"Ah, this should help," she said, studying the controls and the screens.  Unfortunately she wasn't a linguist, but she would do her best. "Let's see what all this can do."  She moved up to the consul that Yarku had been standing next to.  She tried pressing in different combinations, finding that certain parts moved and seemed to bring up different screens.  Her eyes took in everything. "Well, maybe this won't be as bad as we all thought," she said, coming across the schematics for the ship.

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Yarkú watched with keen interest as Flynn went to work on the console, eager to gain what knowledge she had so he could pass it on to the rest of the caste of scientists and then to the rest of the tribe. He stood beside her as she brought up ship schematics. Looking it over, the engines and bridge were clearly defined, the power plant also prominent in the Hozguran language. Colors flashed and highlighted various areas on the ship to show the damage level, but they didn't use the usual Green-Yellow-Red scale that the Tau'ri used, but instead a Blue-Red-Black scale.

"Do you need me to bring you any tools," Yarkú asked, looking over at Flynn. "We have some left over Hozguran equipment, and supplies we have 'acquired' from your people as well."

Flynn studied the schematics.  They were different from what she was used to, but she was pretty sure she could figure them out.  What scared her though was what the Borg would do once they had the ship flying again. "Yes, that would be great.  I think we'll start with this area," she said, pointing to one of the black areas.

Thankfully it didn't look like the ship was too badly damaged.  Or at least she hoped not.  She didn't know enough about the Hozguran to fix anything major.  She also had her own computer with her, so hopefully between that and the computers on the ship she could sort it all out.

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Yarkú nodded at the section she pointed out on the schematic. "Yes, I believe I know where that area is located. Let us go there, and the guards will retrieve the supplies you came here with." He gestured for her to follow as one of the Borg guarding the bridge, and her, departed to collect her supplies. then they departed as well.

They made their way through more of the ship, signs of damage still present, though Flynn knew from the schematics that it was apparently more superficial than anything Still, there was scattered debris, a few broken door frames, guns and scorch marks. It looked impressive if anything.

Finally they arrived in her chosen section, the hum of generators filling the air as they stepped into the power generation complex, large cylinders of dark metal whirring away undamaged for the most part, channeling energy to the rest of the ship. And from a cursory glance, it did not appear to be a normal naquadah generator that she was familiar with. Inside, Yarkú led her to another console, this one similar to the one on the bridge, but different with charts to show outputs, inputs, resources, etc, as well as the various statuses of the power plants. He turned the console on, then stood by for Flynn to get to work, though the guard soon showed yup and handed over her computer and other tech equipment for her use.

Flynn nodded.  She was glad that he seemed to know where he was going.  She could do some fumbling and figure it out, but this would be much quicker.  She shuttered slightly as the guards left.  They had given her the creeps, but she was getting used to Yarku.  And she was surprised to find herself realizing that maybe these warriors weren't all bad.

Flynn followed Yarku down to the section of the ship that she had pointed out.  She frowned slightly as they walked.  There was a lot that needed to be fixed, but most seemed cosmetic, so the ship should still fly even if they didn't get a chance to fix everything.  She wouldn't worry about that at the moment though.  There was too much else to think about anyhow.

Her eyes widened slightly as they stepped into the new room.  Oh, she certainly had her work cut out for her.  She stepped up to the counsel that Yarku had turned on. "Hmm, maybe this won't be as bad as it seems," she commented as the guards returned with her computer and other things.  She snagged up her computer and turned it on, hoping that she would be able to make some conversions.  "This may take a while as there are some things that I have never seen.  But with time and your help, we should be able to get it up and running," she said, looking over at Yarku.

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

"That is all I can ask for," Yarkú replied, as he turned to the console as well, and their work began. He made sure to learn what he could from Flynn, watching her go about interacting with the technology as she diagnosed the problems and went about getting the ship flight worthy again. After all, they would need to learn how to do this themselves when the human was no longer in the picture.

Time passed by imperceptibly as they worked, perhaps hours, perhaps minutes, there was no way for Flynn to tell besides her changing mood, the onset of hunger or sleepiness. But from what she could learn, the ship seemed to operate on some sort of compression Drive. Put simply, within those cylinders was a self contained pocket universe, in which miniature suns went supernova again and again and again, allowing the ship to harvest the energy until entropy kicked in and the entire thing collapsed, necessitating dumping the cylinder into space since it was useless. Flynn sure had her work cut out for her

Flynn actually smiled slightly.  She was glad that Yarku didn't seem like the Borg King who had scared her.  Although she did wonder what had happened to Ziggesh.  She knew he had been injured as well and she wanted to make sure he was alright.  She wasn't sure how to go about asking that though, especially as it seemed like he was a warrior.  He probably wouldn't appreciate it.

She sighed softly as she typed different commands into her laptop and then pressed and rotated buttons on the console of the ship.  This certainly wasn't like anything she had ever seen before.  Flynn rubbed her eyes a bit, feeling tired and a bit grouchy, but she pressed on anyhow.  She just wanted to go home. "Mmm, see this here?" she asked Yarku, pointing to a spot on the schematics. "It looks like this spot was damaged.  If we can fix it then I think the ship should fly." Or at least she hoped.

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Even for his own constitution and stamina, the Borg was starting to feel a bit worn down as well, though certainly less than Flynn since he hadn't been dragged across the wilderness and injured in a fight. So he was still going fairly well as they worked on the problem of the engines, observing and continuing to learn what he could from her methods, musings, and techniques.He glanced over to see what she was pointing too. "I see," he replied, waiting for her before they moved off to the indicated spot.

They walked through the paths between cylinders, past machines that pumped and whirred mysteriously, to arrive at their destination. And it was very apparent when they had as well, walls and floor scorched, wiring continuously bursting with sparks as they flailed about in wall mounts, the connection having been sheared at some point and leaving the energy nowhere to go. It was going to be a difficult patch job.

Flynn was starting to run on empty.  She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep this up without at least a small break.  Right now wasn't the time to tackle that idea though.  She just grabbed up her laptop and walked with Yarku down to the damaged spot of the ship.  She frowned slightly when she saw the sparks and all the wires dangling in the compartment.

"Alright, if we rehook these that should do it." Flynn stepped up to one of the walls and set to work on rewiring the system.  A spark flew off and landed on her hand, causing her to jump back in pain.  "Ow!" she squealed, holding her hand against her chest.  "Dang it!"  This was not what she needed.  She just wanted to finish the ship.  Flynn blew on her hand a bit to help cool it down before reaching to finish with the wiring.  "It's not a pretty job, but it should do it.  Right now isn't the time to worry about the cosmetics of the ship.  It should fly though."

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Even Yarkú was taken aback by the ferocity of electricity shooting out from the open wires, though they knew that the power plants were generating a lot of energy for the ship to use. And he wasn't expecting Flynn to go right in nonchalantly rather than figure out how to turn off the power first, defying what was common sense at the very least. But he did not object if she wanted to risk her life, and moved in as well, making sure the lines didn't jump or move while she was working on them, not commenting at her reaction to being shocked, rather watching on passively as she got back to work.

He stepped back after she did, looking over the patch job to make sure the power was getting across and it wasn't going to break again. "Indeed," he agreed. "But we must be sure." He headed back to the main console, booting it up and emulating some of what Flynn had done to bring up the power diagnostics. Tracing lines, he growled in satisfaction, thumping his chest as it registered that the entirety of the ship was receiving power. He turned to face Flynn. "The command deck then, to see if it can launch." Moving quicker now in anticipation of the completion of this task, he headed out of the engine room, Flynn in tow, as they returned to the bridge

After reflection Flynn knew it had been stupid to jump in without making sure the power was cut off.  at the time though she hadn't been thinking.  she had just been thinking that she wanted to get it working and hopefully stay on the Borgs good side.  She rested on her haunches and let Yarku up to check out the patch job.

A smile touched her lips once he seemed satisfied.  That was good at least.  Flynn nodded. "Sounds good." She grabbed up her laptop and other things and followed behind.  she hoped that if it did work now she could rest.  She was ready to fall over.

Flynn stepped up behind him once they reached the command deck.  'Would you like to do the honors?" she asked, motioning toward the console.  She just prayed that their patch job worked and the ship would kicked over.

{Yarkú - Borg Scientist}

Yarkú looked back at the weary Flynn as he stepped up to the command console. "I thank you," he said, before activating it, running what they had surmised to be activation protocols as a hum ran through the ship, a higher octave than before as lights flashed up on the ships schematics. Yarkú looked them over, a toothy grin coming to his face as he interpreted the Hozguran symbols. He then turned to Flynn. "It works. I thank you for your hard effort."

He looked her over. "I shall have the guards escort you to your quarters so you may rest. You will need your energy for the rest of your task."

Flynn nearly fainted when the ship started.  She had feared that she had done something wrong and it wouldn't start.  But here it was, almost as good as new.  "You're welcome.  I'm glad it works."  She knew it would still need some repairs, but it could move for the time being.

"Rest of my task?" she asked in confusion.  Hadn't she only been supposed to get this ship up and running?  She wasn't sure anymore.  She was so tired that she couldn't think straight.  It had been a long time since she had been up for this many hours straight and her injured arm was starting to pain her again.
