[Lt. Leiovna]
Sitting in one of the few chairs in the undergound lot, she was still bothered by her recent video link , to her mom, still in St.Petersburg. Her usualquiet nature was even more troubled. But, she was now here, taking in the views of personnel, friends, both here and missing..looking to a future where she would be back onboard a ship..ready to serve!

Mike slipped off his green down jacket and hung it over his arm as he moved closer to the gathering from his parked Ford Ranger, nodding back to the people that noticed his arrival and stopped at the back of the crowd to be able to study it all from a not so obvious position.
Zooming out for a second, he remembered the time when he and Coops had entered this place for what felt like yesterday, but in fact was more than a year ago. Crap how scared he’d been back then, not knowing anything about what was about to happen.

“Congratulations… or should I say; my condolences? Major,” a quiet voice said next to him, bringing him back to the present.
Mike turned and grinned back at Carrie, “Naah, I’m good, thanks. It helps trying and see it as finally getting paid for what I do. But how about you? Busy downstairs?”
Carrie shook her head, “No, we don’t have a lot of teams off world, so it’s quiet… for now. Though I think,” she nodded towards a few men along the opposite wall, “seeing how common head aches seems to be – I’ll probably be handing out pain meds and i.v saline for the next hour or so once we’re done here.”

Once not long ago, Elle and Cate could barely speak to one another without getting into a cat's claw moment; now just like those early days back on the Alpha Site they were the best of buddies. How time changes things.

Now here they were, the two of them as thick as thieves, heads together as they found their way to the Carpark. "I'll catch up with you later Cate." Elle whispered as she made her way towards Mike and Carrie; they were the first to catch her attention when her vision took in the whole scene. As she walked away, seeing Generals O'Neill and Chalmers, she gave both a little wave.

Cate replied quickly before Elle was out of earshot. "Yeah, later." She knew it'd be sooner than later though. A long talk yesterday with O'Neill himself gave her a heads up in a round about way. As much as she could squeeze out of him at least. Moving deeper into the rather large crowd, she soon found William and DJ. Flynn was nowhere to be seen. Shaking her head, digging one hand into a pocket for no other reason than it felt comfortable she approached the two of them. "Well, it seems like I have two strangers on my team. A Captain and a Sergeant. Do I know you blokes?" Always an Aussie, she all but flat out refused to use the American endearment of 'guys'. Frankly she couldn't stand the way it was used these days as a non gender term. She almost hit a shop assistant in Springs when he addressed Cate and her Mother Anne as 'guys'.

A little further over, Elle managed to move between the press of bodies to stand near her fiance and one of the women with Stargate command who was way up there in her admiration list. "Hey." She said simply, more or less to both of them. "Miss me?" Smiling sweetly at Mike. Like it had only been an hour since he threw a pillow at her to get up.

Not wanting to waste anymore time Jack got right into it. He didn't either forget the woman standing beside him, he was going to let her do the more official part of the briefing. There was just one very special announcement he had to make. "Very well Captain, I think I can trust you." He told Damien. "Report to Captain McFearson before you embark."

"People, I need your attention for a minute longer before I hand over to General Chalmers." The man sucked in his breath, one could easily tell from the look on his face this was going to be something special. "While you all have seen, heard and even been aboard some of our new ships, we've got something that I am sure each and everyone of you will be more than happy to see added to our fleet."  Jack made sure everyone was looking directly at him; he made an especial effort to look straight at Carrie. "Doc Svennson, we have something special just for you and your medical teams. Care to check your emails on your phone."

Al wasted no time getting to the briefing, or at least he thought he did. It would appear to him though once he went through the motions of getting up earlier than usual, showering, dressing and scoffing down his much earlier breakfast, many of the personnel had beat him to the punch. He must be getting old he told himself.

Once he was there, he settled down inconspicuously on the hood of some poor sod's rather new Ford Focus; listening intently to what had been said by O'Neill. It was good news, the fact they'd have the chance to actually try and find many of their missing couldn't go without some private inner celebration. The last bit was rather happy news as well; a new addition to the fleet. What it was for the present moment was somehow tid to Doctor Svennson, Al could only guess what that could be.

He could't see any of his team right now, he figured though they must be somewhere in this crowd. They'd find him no doubt.

Flynn groaned as she raced down the corridor.  No, no, no.  What had happened to the time?  She was never late and she decided to start today?  The young woman groaned as she finally reached the room where everyone else already seemed to be gathered.

She caught sight of her brother and shook her head.  Dumby.  She slid around behind him and squeezed his shoulder.  "You should know better," she whispered to him before slipping over to her group.   She grinned at her team.  "Hey, sorry I'm so later.  Car trouble."

Bryan had been reluctant to leave Bonnie but she had promised she would be right behind him.  He slipped into the room and made his way over to Al, flashing a smile.  "Bonnie's right behind me," he promised.  "Did I miss anything?"

The others slowly filed in as well, finding their respective places with their teams or friends to listen and see what was going on.

“Let me know if I can give you a hand down there, ok?” but before Carrie had a chance to reply, the were interrupted by McPhearson.
Mike smiled back at Elle as she came up next to him, “Hey there, I was wondering where you took off. You and Cate away on your own never mean any good nowadays.”

Carrie nodded towards Elle, returning the “Hey” and then with a small frown as she heard O’Niell’s words, reached down in her lab coat pocket and picked up her phone. 15 seconds later she looked back at O’Niell with a hint of disbelief in her face.
Instead of hauling up his phone, Mike hovered over Carrie’s shoulder, taking a sneak peak of the spec’s, and let out a low whistle. “Nice! Now I’m getting jealous of the one’s being stationed there.”
Carrie shot him a fast glance, “I hope he’s not implying I’m supposed to get in to that tin can myself.”

"Oh wow!" Elle exclaimed as she did exactly as Mike did, peering over Carrie's shoulder. "That is huge, crikey its bigger than the Dread isn't it. Sure do envy whoever is going Captain that barge." She was in that talkative mood, for now. "Had to pick up some last minute things Mike, and settle a couple of debts that I was behind on. Other than that..." She covered her mouth, Cate wasn't far away. "....she's as mad as a hatter on the road." Her head tilted ever so slightly to the one mentioned.

                                               ********************

MacGregor listened. Deeply. Jack was up to something here; not bad since he involved Carrie, but the announcement of a new ship? How did that involve the SGC's deputy Surgeon General. It had to be important and she was curious. But for now she was focused on her team. "Well better late than never; the gang is all here now. I wonder where Cam and Vala are hiding? I haven't seen them for what seems like weeks now." She directed her query at all three members of her team. She was quite proud of them; William, DJ and Flynn. From what she had heard, Chalmers was more than pleased with them.

                                               ********************

2012 had been a big year for Bonnie. Apart from the glorious weeks Bryan and her had taken on leave; there was one small irritation. In May of last year she began having headaches; it didn't take long with a MRI, for Carrie to find she had a cyst behind her good right eye. Still under the protection of being classified eyes only,

Bonnie couldn't go to any old neurologist, but the US Army had one of the best and she was sent off to their specialist clinic in Pennsylvania. Then it was back to the Academy hospital where he and one of the top ophthalmologists the SGC could find, removed that one eye, and with some clever planning and engineering, a copy was made of her 'bionic' left eye. Now she had two of them and while she didn't have x-ray vision like Superguy, she was pretty well set up. A little rehab, that leave she thought about and back to a very peaceful work routine; up until now. "Apologies Colonel, I had to have one last check up with the specialist." The whole team were behind her, all them visiting her at one time or another. Even Jack O'Neill came by once with Anne MacGregor. And of course Bryan was with her everyday she was in hospital.

Leaning on Bryan she whispered to him. "You should check the car more often Bry, the back left tyre is or was flat." Supergirl had fixed it in less than 3 minutes. "But it is good to be back isn't it?"

"I hope you kids had fun without me. But now the real work starts." He told them. "Lets settle down now and hear the rest of it, I'm sure it'll be interesting.

That was her cue. Lucille now had the floor. "Thank you General O'Neill." She looked up at the crowd. "Doctor Svennson no." She had heard the remark. "The Fraiser is yours to command, it will go where and when you order it to do; you won't be required to be aboard her unless you wish it to be."

With that part out of the way she got down to the bones of it. "As you may all have heard on the rumor mill, the IOA has directed us to use this peaceful time we have to try and redress some of those past issues that have plagued us for some time. Namely finding as many of our MIA personnel as possible. To that aim we have had SG teams 21 and 17 out in the field these last few weeks searching for clues. SG17 has come up with something rather interesting. On PXT-754 they found the remains of a recently vacated camp,  it was by their description a very large camp. They didn't have the time to fully investigate it, and this is where you all come in. SG4 and SG3 will lead this investigation, but to limit our exposure you will be going by ship instead of the Stargate. Captain McFearson, you will be transporting those teams. Captain Cutter-Hohstadt, your ship will be backing them up. Any questions.?"

There were a lot of changes afoot, and with a promotion came the associated responsibilities of a staff sergeant. That, and he was going to have to get used to no longer being on SG18. SG4 was his current unit that he would be running with and it seemed that he had been approached by Commander MacGregor.

"I believe we've briefly met before, ma'am." DJ offered.

It wasn't going to be much to go by and DJ hoped that the commander would not take too much offense to not having remembered if they had met previously before. Of course, there was not much else he could say before the meeting continued to run its course, bouncing between the senior commanders of SGC. DJ shrugged at the mention of Cam and Vala, unsure of their whereabouts either and not wanting to make assumptions.

DJ nodded, though not sure whether Chalmers would see the nod of acknowledgement that SG4 was prepping to be deployed so soon after celebrations. They were traveling by ship, rather than by stargate, which was going to be a new experience for him.

At least he wasn't going to be awkwardly trying to find his footing on the other side of the gate this time around.

***

Damian offered a curt nod in response to the statement that O'Neill could trust him and that he would need to report to Captain McFearson before he departed, it needed no more conversation; for it was now actions which would determine the outcome.

The limelight had shifted between O'Neill, the good Doctor Svennson, Colonel Reynolds before General Chalmers finally let loose on the details of what they were going to be expecting in the pipeline.

His ship was going to play escort for McFearson, which on paper seemed rather straightforward but he knew that it would also be the first real test of him being in command of a much larger ship. Damian knew that meant he had little time to make adjustments, or get to know his crew as such, thus he would figure everything else out on the fly.

So he shook his head: No further questions from him.

Flynn shrugged a shoulder.  "Guess I need to leave earlier," she chuckled.  She hated being late, but thankfully Cate didn't seem upset  by it.  And it was good to be back with the team.  "Feels like it's been forever.  And I'm thinking the time off wasn't good for everyone, " she commented, glancing at her brother with a shake of her head.  She then turned her attention back to what was being said.

Bryan grinned when Bonnie appeared.  He blinked though at her words.  Hadn't he checked the tires? He didn't normally forget something like that.  "Thanks," he whispered back to her before grinning at Reynolds.   "It is good to be back."

Mike followed Elle’s gaze towards the other Aussie, nodding and answering quietly, “Now why am I not surprised about insight? Because she’s a daredevil and totally nuts. And yes, that *is my professional opinion.” That last remark was accompanied by a smile though, so not very serious, finally turning his focus back at the Iron lady and listened.

Carrie gulped and squeezed out an, “Umm, okay. Great. I think. I mean…” then as the impact of news sunk in, her face lit up in a big smile, “Cool!”
She was really at loss of what to say, but her head was spinning over the possibilities of having this ship in their fleet.
Hopefully she would be able to sit down and discuss this with whoever was in command of the ship and make some plans in a not to far away future.

“Sounds like a search and rescue op. Piece of cake. We’ve done that before, right?” Mike whispered to Elle, not very comfortable with the orders, but also knowing that this was what they were good at. Really good.
He’d fought so hard this last year to come to terms with everything. Getting back in the saddle so to speak, but now when reality came plunging in – it still brought back memories of captivity and feelings of entrapment. It was only natural, something to be expected and would be easier to handle as time and their therapy sessions went on, or at least that was what Annie had explained.
Crap, so many hours spent with her and her ‘minor tasks to deal with while at home in between’…
Absentmindedly he scratched the scar on his neck, a constant reminder of what had occurred – both Carrie with her ancient tech device as well as Cate with her hocus-pocus abilities had offered their help in removing it, but so far he had declined, then suddenly became aware of what he was doing and stuffed his right hand in to his jeans pants pocket.

The band was altogether now, that is really what was important. "You know Walker, for me at least there are times when I could do without leave." The reason being, it meant being alone most of the time.

But for now they had more pressing concerns, something they could sink their teeth into after so long  a break of inactivity. He looked up and over to Chalmers. "Only one question General, how soon do we go?"

That was much easier than she thought it would be. "Very well then. If General O'Niell has nothing to add, you will all depart in one hour."

Car Parks garage - Stargate Command

Taer had been standing for awhile next to a car. He leaned against another car and crossed his arms while listening to General Jack O'Neil's briefing. For some time he closed his eyes briefly to rub his eyes with his hand, the captain readjusted his posture and cracked his neck. He couldn't help but think about those who were missing and wondering when they will ship out. Looking across the room, he noted the rest of SG3 huddled together.

Checking the time, it hit Taer as he realized he should probably report to them. As they ticked down to the last several minutes of the briefing, Taer listened to Reynold's general question to the General.

"Only one question General, how soon do we go?"

"Very well then. If General O'Niell has nothing to add, you will all depart in one hour."

The captain exhaled and moved from his position toward his SG3 CO. Taer nodded at both and at his team, "Colonel, General. Hey. I'm ready, sir."

Hearing those words from Mike, a feeling of dread swept over Elle; she suppressed it, though the beads of sweat breaking out on her brow might have been a giveaway “Yeah, been there done that.” Naturally if she could, Elle might be tempted to ask Carrie to have Mike stay back, the truth was he needed this as much as she did to banish those last little lingering demons that plagued them both now and then. At least neither of them was waking up in the middle of the night from those nightmares now.

At least the subject of Cate was a diversion, yes, she was always good for that. It was quite surprising to Elle though over the last year just how much the two of them had in common, other than both being Aussies. Perhaps too much, which is why when a few years ago, a little younger they were at each other’s throats like alley cats often. “I think our girl takes it quite seriously to scare the crap out of other people as much as she can. Yes, she is damned good at that.” One thing they did not share in common was their driving habits. Mike calls Elle ‘Mrs. Slow’ of which she is very proud of.

Elle tapped the good doctor on the arm affectionately. “You are going to have so much fun with that. Don’t forget us…” One hand waved in the general direction of Mike and herself, “…when you need an escort. And you can even direct the big girl from the comfort of your office here. Now that is cool.” She repeated the oft used word Carrie had quoted so excitedly.

Then it dawned on her, while talking with her friends, Elle didn’t miss a word the General had said. “I'm good General. An hour, cutting it short but we can do it.” There was the other factor, two ships, her gaze looked over towards a man she just barely knew, Captain Cutter-Hohstadt. She caught his eye, then waved him over. From the corner of her mouth as one hand gripped Mike’s tightly, she said. “We’ve got this Mike.”

                                        **************************************

“Any time Bryan. You know I’ve got your back 24/7.” She grinned, that extended to his car as well. Bonnie always took pride in the fact that she was quite possibly the best spanner monkey around bar none. And that came from others, not her.

Then her eyes went wide. “One hour, one hour?” While she could move at a blinding speed, for a woman she still needed to get herself together in the right way. Moaning she added. “I s’pose if we must then.” Her dark head twisted around to her teammates, giving Taer the thumbs up. “Nice of you to join us Cap’n.” A small pink tongue almost passed her mouth.

                                                 ************************************

Cate raised an eyebrow at Flynn. She could appreciate the sentiment of course, yet in her mind taking leave is down time, relieving some of those built up stresses life throws at you. Conceded she had to agree though, some might not find too much joy in it. “There is always next time.” She mumbled then she was right back into it.

“Nothing from me General.” She told the woman up front. Then turning to her team she gave the word. “One hour, I will assume we’ll embark from the Gate Room.”
