"So definitely keeping them locked up is not a viable option, I don't think the cooks will appreciate us if food goes missing, if Gloria and Melman get bored of fish. "

Giulia joked a little, rolling her shoulders back to get some movement back, not to mention itching to get work done.
Rolling her head on to her shoulder, Giulia gave Melinda a look and cocky smile.

"Why, don't you think we aren't convincing enough to get him to send us back?  Can't be letting alien technology fall into the wrong hands now. What I managed to get was only a taste."

Shaking her head in total agreement Melinda had to agree, those two rascals had been nothing but trouble since the day she brought them here, getting into everything, always getting under foot. Not to mention their habit of leg humping. She grinned at her own thought, seeing the look on Cadman's face was pure magic to Mel. Then right when she thought their troubles were over and even in jest Julia hit the nail square on the head. "Oh my god you are so right. We have to get out of here sooner or later. If Atlantis can't retrieve enough from that ship, someone will and I know that rogue element of the Genii had been there." She didn't even want to think about the Wraith.

" They do have that reputation, they also have spies everywhere from the reports I read prior to arriving here. It's a matter of time before they get a team out there."

Giulia spoke a little more seriously, checking her drying hair, it was starting to.go into rat tails, the salt clinging to the strands.

" I want to make sure we get first dibs and pick it clean."

While Julia was speaking an idea was forming in Melinda's mind, that one was quite simple and would deny others from their quest. "It's not all that far away as far as worlds go Julia. What if we could convince Mister Woolsey that it would be in our interest to take either a Puddle Jumper or one of the 401 Tornado's there, disable the gate and we can stay there as long as we like without any interference. That also has the benefit of keeping us above the high water mark, saving us getting into trouble like before."

She noticed her friend checking her hair, Mel did the same and as well she started to feel a little dry and itchy from the salty water. "We need a shower. We'll have to ask Kelly when she gets back, I'd like to be clean before I do anything further."

"A very hot shower, I'm never going to have a bath again."

Giulia agreed, setting her fingers down again. A nice hot bowl of soup and hot shower, two very simple pleasures she was going to really enjoy after her experiences.

" We would need to made sure long range sensors were set up, last thing we want is any extra ships turning out of the blue. One was enough."

She was wondering how Ronon and that woman were doing, wither they were close to being rescued or not.

The eye roll said everything Mel was thinking, she to was going to stay away from anything deeper than a centimeter for some time. "It's happened to often and sometimes I've wondered if the Wraith actually know when we gate to an address. That was why I mentioned going by ship, I think that would be...." She didn't finish as Kelly and her 'escorts' entered.

Two rather good looking Marines led Kelly back into Med Bay, one each was carrying their laptops and for good reason; Melinda's was a MIL-STD-810, a heavily armored laptop weighing in at almost 3kgs, not that was heavy, just awkward if you're carrying two of them plus the girls accessories, wi-fi modems and external hard drives. Kelly herself had intercepted the cooks and brought the tray with their thick vegetable soup that had a little local Athosian spice, much like a curry flavor from home and some large cuts of crusty bread. She placed the tray on a side table, then the soups and bread on each of the bed trays. "Here you go girls, enjoy. You aren't touching those until you've finished." Her head inclined to the aforementioned laptops which the Marines had placed far out of reach.

"Oh...." Mel's eyes lit up, this was going to be heaven for both of them. "Kelly, will a shower be in order when we're done?"

"I would expect so, you're a little on the nose both of you." She answered grinning merrily.

Pulling herself upright, Giulia thought about arguing with Nurse Kelly and then thought better of it. She had been kind enough to fetch their laptops, which was one strengthen having her tablet computer.

The smell of the soup, made her stomach grumble a complaint about being empty. It hasn't much liked the salt water it had gone before. Picking up her spoon she started devouring the spiced meal. Feeling it settle in the stomah and spread its warmth to those last little bits of her that were still cold.

"No argument from me Kelly." Melinda had already dragged the trolley tray to her the moment the nurse had set it down, spoon fulls of the nourishing soup going down with relish. "God this is good, I can't believe how really good it is Julia,  quite possibly that might because we needed it and I think we might have over done it a little." It didn't take long to empty the bowl, with the thick chunky bread being used as a sponge. When at last Mel had finished it all and swallowed a small juice Kelly had added, she felt more than better than just ten minutes ago.

"Shower?" She said to her friend, taking in Kelly's eyes as her head turned.

The older woman (by a year or two) rolled her eyes, she knew exactly what was going through the young Dane's mind, those Scandinavians  had no sense of shame at all. She tisked before she spoke. "I'll get some clean clothes for you both, and since there is two shower heads in there..." She jerked her thumb behind her. "...and Jennifer is not far away, I suppose it might help you both to go together, it'll be quicker to get you out of my hair as well."

All Mel could do was grin widely as she slipped her legs over the side of the bed, the floor was cold, but nowhere near as cold as the sea.

Giulia considered answering Mel with a reason the soup tasted so good, but was far to overcome with the need to fill her stomach. She finished up much the same, scraping up every last drop of soup with the bed.

"Oh god yes, that water needs to be almost burning hot."

Of course, she didn't actually mean that. Setting her little table to the side, Giulia got up to her feet. Carefully testing that her legs were willing to take her weight, when she arrived they certainly wouldn't have.

"Why Nurse Kelly, I would think you were trying to get rid off us."

Teasing lightly, she moved over to Mel's bed, to take her arm in her own.

"No, just trying to make my workload less. Now go on, shoo the both of you, you're not that incapacitated." She made a gesture with her hands towards them as you would a pair of naughty kids, only these kids were very much grown. "I'll be back in about ten minutes with your change of clothes." Another trip back to their rooms, she should have thought of that the first time.

After taking it all in, Kelly's instructions and all, something just dawned on Melinda. She was going to be stark naked in front of another person, it didn't matter that it was another woman, it was just a little thing that she had avoided all her life for the most part, barring medical reasons of course. Which for someone from where she originated from might have rather odd, being as open as Danes were; Melinda was not having spent the best part of her life away from her homeland except for those horrible few years as a teen. She bit her lip for a second, then made up her mind. "Damn it, I'm not afraid." She said in her own language, slipped off the bed while trying to keep her face as straight as she could. "After you Julia." She said a little shyly, holding out her hand in the direction of the bathroom.

A half smile on her face, Giulia chuckled at Nurse Kelly shooting them off for the much needed shower.

Returning her attention to Mel, she gave a stretch and headed towards the showers.  Giving her a little odd look about what Mel had said in her native language, since it wasn't she did speak herself.
Nudity wasn't an issue for her, she needed to shower and that was it and it wasn't like Melinda had anything she didn't.

" The sooner we get washed the sooner we can get cracking on working on Mr Woolsey and get back on to the planet, maybe find less troublesome animals."

Inspecting her hair again, she grimaced and let it hang simply again. Hot water and fresh clothes, sweet bliss.

One of the reasons Melinda had a phobia about being seen naked stemmed from her years of training; it had more or less turned her into something less desirable in the eyes of both genders. Even wearing a bikini was a chore for her, the men poked fun at her, letting her know in no uncertain terms that it wasn't right for a young woman to have abs like a male body builder, not to mention her well defined arms; for the women, it was abject horror at seeing her looking like someone who chewed rocks for breakfast, and yet despite all of this Mel had her very feminine side, preferring skirts and heels when ever she went out, rather than jeans and skimpy tops. But she sensed with Julia, something she hadn't experienced with others, someone who wouldn't judge her and so with that firmly in her head, she followed her friend dutifully and once that door was closed, so was her mind to the outside world.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Mel replied as she removed the ward gown, other than that she only had her briefs on and they were soon cast aside. She stepped into the shower, not even noticing how close the shower nozzles were together and soon she was luxuriating in the warm water and soap. She couldn't but help see Julia's earlier distress with her hair either, as both of them had quite long hair she thought why not. "I'll wash your hair if you like." She saw that there was some decent shampoo and conditioner there so it was only a matter for them to both finish washing themselves first.

"The point is.." To relax while washing Mel began to talk. "....I'm damn well intrigued what the origin of that ship is and why did it recognise Ashtah's ship? I mean the ship we found must have been hundreds of years old I'm sure"

Stripped and scrubbing herself down, Giulia revelled in the hot water. Glad to get the salt out of her and off her skin. She would properly wash her hair last as she normally did.

"Thank you for the offer, but you don't have to. My hair is thicker than it looks, surprises my stylist back on Earth every time he does it, but then I don't often remember to go."

She chuckled slightly, making sure she was utterly rid of the salt. Though she must admit her skin had never felt so clean. It certainly made some good body scrub, she noted as she listened on to Melinda, before offering some hypothesis or two.

"It can be be that Ashtah's people having changed that much in the way of technology, you know how the Wraith are for stomping on worlds for getting too advanced. The other reasoning is that Ashtah's ship is one she has salvaged and so maybe as old as our crashed wreck. Certainly I want to know the reasoning for the ship's recognition as well, it may well have useful information to be gleaned."

Strangely, standing there starkers as she had hear one Aussie girl say once, talking as natural as you please with Julia didn't bother Mel as much as she thought it would. In fact she felt quite liberated by it, as if she had been set free from shackles she never realised she had. "Keep watching this space." She said playfully and as she let her own hair out, almost instantly the water was absorbed by her flowing blonde locks, it went from a lovely wavy form, into a mass of ringlets. "I think I really have to stop using that straightening wand." She giggled, but then her face turned a little more serious. "Speaking of Ashtah and Ronon of course, I hope Richard is doing something to get them out of there."

Getting a blob of shampoo, Giulia gave her hair it's first round of washing, making sure she got her whole scalp.

"I never have much patience to straighten my hair, too many late nights in the lab. Unless it's a special occasion I just don't see much in the way of a point in using the time."

Though she didn't mind when she was getting her hair professionally done for it to be straightened or curled, depending on the style she was being given. Usually after awhile she would allow it just descend into a natural state.

"I'm sure he is, he can hardly leave them down there. So after we're discharged do you want to a) go see if we can help then retrieve Melman and Gloria to take them home b) go to work on how to persuade Mr Woolsey to let us return to.the planet or c) Formalise our sisterhood. I say c, a then b."
