Nodding her agreement, Mel smiled sweetly and all too quickly, simply to throw Ronon off the scent; the last thing they needed now was for him to suspect they were setting out to entrap him or something. On the contrary, nothing could be more straight forward than to have him be their protector. But she knew to how suspicious men could be, so with that in mind she slipped away to pick up two trays, both identical with the contents. Orange juice, a fresh bun and some strawberry jam, not the runny stuff Americans call jelly.

She was back as they were talking, having missed part of the conversation; Mel sat down, sliding one tray over to Julia. "I promise you Ronon, we'll be keeping our feet dry this time." She refrained from sending a wink to her friend.

"Well I can recommend not having a daily dose of salt water."

Her eyebrows raised, her head tilted as she half smiled, half grimaced at the memory of it all. She washed it down with the Orange juice, far sweeter and better for her.

"Yes we will or Dr Keller will lynch us both. We've to have two marines, at least one stationed outside so there will be no need to swim and we have my.tool.kit this time."

She gave it a pat like it was her bet, then forced her bun open with her thumb, before adding the jam.

Finishing up his plate and drinking from his bottle, Ronon nodded once with a grunt, "Sure. I'll pick them out myself. We should go."

He gave Mel a glance and waited for their response. The Satadean was ready to go already for some action.

"Okay, We'll finish eating and meet you outside the entrance? That okay?"

She glanced round at Ronon and Mel, munching on the food she had. She was still hungry   and well she knew how easy she could get absorbed into her work and food may take a back bench to it.

That sounded fair enough, Mel only hoped Ronon wouldn't get bored having to baby sit two scientists again. She nodded agreement to Julia's reply, they had to eat something even though the soup was nourishing from Med bay, it left you empty. "Five minutes, I do need to fill up again before we leave. I think we should take some snacks with us to." Mel had a high metabolism and she knew these small bread rolls wouldn't stay with her long.

Ronon grunted as he nodded once, "Okay. Meet you there."

Not giving them an exact number, Ronon got up picking his plate and went forward toward the trash to dispose of the food before placing the plates on the table for the dishwasher on duty. He knew they would not be far behind and knew exactly where to go. While walking out of the cafeteria, he pressed his radio and spoke, "Kermis and DiNozzo, gear up and meet me at the staircase near Zelenka's lab at five minutes."

After two confirming responses from the radio, Ronon went ahead toward the armory to gear up before heading back to the staircase area.

Giulia paced her way through the food, it was going to be dark and Giulia was sure they were going to loose all sense of time down there. Not just because she would be overly focused.

"Who knows what kind of machinery and life maybe down there? I mean we stick to the corridors when we were there before. Anything could be there in those rooms."

The prospect of seeing all this was thrilling, more so because she would see before that arrogant McKay. Finishing what she had on her plate, Giulia stood up and held out her hand to take Mel's tray and put it away for her.

"Ready to go diving into the unknown again?"

A cheeky smile twitched around the edges her mouth.

Buddies, partners and pals, that was pretty much how they had become in just a very short time. Making discoveries together, getting along like a house on fire despite their different personalities and backgrounds, it was pretty much like their coming together was meant to be. Which was not bad for a young woman like Mel who more often made enemies rather than friends with her wayward attitudes.

The tray left her hand with a grateful smile, though the stomach still felt a little empty. Quickly before they left she grabbed some fruit and bottled juices, stuffing them into her pack, along with a bag of fresh bread rolls. "The only diving I am looking forward to anytime soon is beneath the sheets of my bed." That brought a rather risque thought to her little head as to who she might want to share those sheets with.

Jogging at a careful pace, Giulia put away their trays ready for collection and cleaning. With great eagerness she got back and picked up her tool kit.

"I'll probably not see my bed for days if we find anything good down there."

Came her response as she left the cafeteria for the mysterious section if the city.

<<From Accommodation>>

"Oh boy!" Jen grinned at Tama's question, as it seemed like her education is going to be fast and rapid. Thinking of that, as it appeared that she was taking on a 'mother's role with the girl, she hoped that sooner rather than later they managed to get the 'boys and girls' lecture out of the way. The youngster was attractive and there were more than enough young guys on the base who would see that to. Heaven help her if Melinda got her into the base swimming club.

"This is where we eat and socialise Tama." She said as the pair of them entered, she took her straight to the buffet, there were only two people there at the time, the cook and his assistant. "You can choose what you want, or our cook can prepare something of your own choice. Oh and candy.." She pointed to the candy machine in the corner, Jen pulled out her card giving it to Tama. "Go on, try it." She said.

Tama Akimoto

The smell of food made her stomach grumble a quiet request, which was to be satiated now that it was clear that food was available and plentiful. Shedding think the cook would be prepare something of her own people but she was eager to try foods of her paternal race.

However the idea of candy peeked her interest, so she took the card and walked over. Glancing around the large space. Read the instructions on the machine, then followed them. She choose the one that most attracted her eye and watched, face near pressed against the plastic, as it dropped and darted down to collecting. Snatching it out, like she had shoved her hand into a great beasts mouth to retrieve her prize.

Sniffing it, she then peeled its skin and ate the chocolate carefully at first then as if she had always eaten these things.

With a delighted sniff of satisfaction Jennifer came to stand beside Tama, one hand on her hip. "You know I should tell you two things. First up that stuff is extremely addictive and secondly, unless you have a very high metabolism Tama, I'd be limiting myself to one every now and then. Most of that is fat and sugar." She had to laugh at her own statement, it took Jen every bit of willpower she had not to stop by this machine on a daily basis. "So, do you think that will tie you over for a while, or would you like a proper meal before we go sight seeing. I myself haven't eaten for nearly five hours now and I could use something...but not that." She giggled.

Tama Akimoto

Letting the last piece melt down her throat, Tama's brilliantly coloured eyes fixed on Jennifer, listening intently to her guides advice.

"I've always been one with a sweet tooth, but I have yet to let it show on me. "Youth", my tutor would say, " is kind in many ways. Age is not." Besides I could do with adding to myself, meals are few and far between when your a runaway."

Though Tama knew well enough, using sweet treats to put on what she had lost to lack of do is wasn't the right way. Turning back to look at the available foods before her, Tama wasn't sure to what would meet with Temple law.", they all smelt good though and her st grumbled agreement.

"I think a good meal is in order, which dishes do not contain meat of land animals? "

"I wrote a paper on the very subject for my doctoral thesis, did you know that if you were born into a hereditary family who's genes were predisposed to slimness, chances are you'll never get fat." Jen hoped that was the case for her, she could eat well and so far at her age it wasn't showing. As she walked Tama towards the servery she kept talking. "But in my studies I found that if you keep punishing your fat cells, they reach a point of no return where the body will no longer metabalise as it once did in your youth, in other words, the body will simply turn any energy into stores of fat."

She eyed off the selection, knowing exactly what the girl wanted. "There, we call that a vegetable caserole, its really very good and some of that brown rice, its been cooked in the South East Asian style, we call it Nasi Goreng. You know I think I'll go for that to."

Tama Akimoto

There were a lot of words that Tama couldn't quite understand, but she understood in general concept of what was being said.

"Biology wasn't a subject I exceeded at and was generally limited to the basic hum drums life. I guess given I'm part human they didn't want me to realise it. Still it was clear I was different to my age mates. I'm taller but physically younger, my inner jaw, as you saw from the old damage, is weaker and ...."

Tama shut up and blushed, then asked politely in her way the suggested food. It looked not far off a home dish, but smelt different. Bowing humbly as she accepted the food, for it was a privilege to make food on her own world.
